Holsworthy Barracks

Holsworthy is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly and is represented by Tina Ayyad of the Liberal Party since the 2023 New South Wales state election.Holsworthy includes the suburbs of Bangor, Barden Ridge, Casula, Chipping Norton, Cross Roads, Hammondville, Holsworthy, Liverpool, Liverpool Military Area, Lucas Heights, Lurnea, Moorebank, Pleasure Point, Prestons, Sandy Point, Voyager Point and Wattle Grove.Holsworthy was created in the 2013 redistribution, largely replacing Menai.

The 4th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (4 RAR) was an infantry battalion (later a special forces unit) of the Australian Army, forming part of the Royal Australian Regiment and eventually Special Operations Command. Holsworthy is a suburb in south-western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 31 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool. Holsworthy is most notable for a large Australian Army reserve, Holsworthy Barracks, where training exercises are frequently carried out. The reserve is adjacent to Heathcote Road, which connects to Bankstown, Liverpool, Lucas Heights, Engadine and Heathcote. Signs on the perimeter warn potential trespassers of the use of laser-guided and conventional gunfire. The residential area is located north of the railway station. Anzac Village is a locality in the northern part of the suburb and the adjacent suburb of Wattle Grove. A new development called 'Mornington' has recently been built in this region. A shopping centre has also been built in this area.

The Defence Force Correctional Establishment (DFCE) forms the highest tier in the detention system of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The Shale Sandstone Transition Forest, also known as Cumberland Shale-Sandstone Ironbark Forest, is a transitory ecotone between the grassy woodlands of the Cumberland Plain Woodlands and the dry sclerophyll forests of the sandstone plateaus on the edges of the Cumberland Plain in Sydney, Australia.Listed in 2001 under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, the forest lies between other ecological communities found on shale or sandstone substrates.

Sandy Point is a geographical formation on the southern bank of the Georges River, east of Deadmans Creek in south-west Sydney. Sandy Point is located in the Sutherland Shire, New South Wales. The Sandy Point estate was created in 1925 and it was later adopted as the suburb's name. Sandy Point only consists of three streets; St George Crescent, Bingara Drive and Gambier Avenue.
