It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. The Entrance – Long Jetty hospital is located in Killarney Vale. It is a Community Health Centre of NSW Department of Health. It does not have an Accident or Emergency service. The hospital is located in buildings that were originally built as the club house for Tuggerah Lakes Golf Club. Killarney Vale contains two public primary schools. Wyong Road is the main road that runs through Killarney Vale linking The Entrance to Wyong. A second main road running along the south western edge is Eastern Road. Along Wyong Road, there are Killarney Vale shops which includes a small Coles supermarket. Originally a branch of the Newcastle value orientated Shoey's Food Barn chain, the supermarket was converted to a Bi-Lo and then most recently converted into a Coles supermarket. Previously sub-branches from The Entrance of Commonwealth Bank (where the cycle shop is currently located) and Westpac were located in the shopping area. Both banks have closed and been replaced by cash machines. As a local shopping area there is a pharmacy, medical, bakery, and other specialist retail. It was named after the town of Killarney in Ireland.

Mariners Centre of Excellence is the training ground and academy base of Central Coast Mariners, located in Tuggerah, Australia. It is used by the club's youth team and the Central Coast Mariners Academy as a training base and for matches, as well as by the club's senior team for training. The facility also has a stadium with a capacity of 3,000 people. The facility was purpose-built for the Central Coast-based club and is the club's home base.

It is the second largest business hub, major shopping area and financial district for the Central Coast after Erina.It is a mixture of semi-rural, residential, and light industrial. Historically it was, like much of the Wyong District, a dairy area, and still has the Pioneer Dairy Wetlands. There was an airstrip for some years which has now been built over. Tuggerah railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the northern Central Coast suburb of Tuggerah, opening in 1890. A pair of passing loops were added north of the station in 1948. These were removed in December 1995. The station was rebuilt in the 1990s.
