Saint Michael's College (St. Mikes or Saint Michael's) is a private Roman Catholic college in Colchester, Vermont. Saint Michael's was founded in 1904 by the Society of Saint Edmund. It grants Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in over 30 majors to over 1,600 undergraduate students. Housing availability is guaranteed for all four years although about 10% of students, mostly upperclassmen, live off campus.

Ross Sports Center is a 2,500-seat indoor arena in Colchester, Vermont. It is used primarily for basketball, and is home to the Saint Michael's College Knights basketball and volleyball teams. It was built in 1973. Adjacent to the arena is a swimming pool, used by the college's swimming and diving teams. The college's athletics training room is also located at the arena, across from the basketball and volleyball courts. Ross Sports Center is also a concert venue, seating up to 3,000. Graduation ceremonies, meetings and other special events are held here.

Fort Ethan Allen was a United States Army installation in Vermont, named for American Revolutionary War figure Ethan Allen. Established as a cavalry post in 1894 and closed in 1944, today it is the center of a designated national historic district straddling the town line between Colchester and Essex. Locally, it is known simply as "The Fort", and now houses a Vermont National Guard installation a variety of businesses, academic institutions, and residential areas.

The Porter Screen Company is a historic former industrial facility at 110 East Spring Street in Winooski, Vermont. Developed beginning 1910–11, this mill complex was an important secondary industrial employer in the city, shipping window screens and other housing parts nationwide. The facility, now converted to senior housing, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Winooski is a city in Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. Located on the Winooski River, as of the 2020 U.S. census the municipal population was 7,997. The city is the most densely populated municipality in northern New England, an area comprising the states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. It is the smallest of Vermont's 10 cities by area, though the city of Vergennes has the smallest population. As part of the Burlington, Vermont metropolitan area, it is bordered by Burlington, Colchester, and South Burlington.

WVTX (88.7 FM) is a radio station in Colchester, Vermont, just outside Burlington owned by Vermont Public Radio. The station, established in 1974 by Saint Michael's College as the original FM home of its campus radio station WWPV-FM, currently airs a classical format from the VPR Classical network.

The Old Stone House is a historic house at 73 East Allen Street in central Winooski, Vermont. Built about 1790, it is the city's oldest building. It has served as a tavern, and as residences, and is now in use as professional offices. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Chittenden-3-6 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Chittenden-3-6 District includes all of the Chittenden County city of Winooski, and a section of the city of Burlington defined as follows: ...that portion of the City of Burlington encompassed within a boundary beginning at the northern terminus of the boundary line between the cities of Burlington and South Burlington located at a point adjacent to the Winooski River west of Interstate 89, then southwesterly along the boundary line to the intersection of the boundary line and Grove Street, then northwesterly along Grove Street to the intersection of Chase Street, then southwesterly along Chase Street to the intersection of Colchester Avenue, then southwesterly along Colchester Avenue to the intersection of Mansfield Avenue, then northerly along Mansfield Avenue to the intersection of North Street, then westerly on North Street to the intersection of North Prospect Street, then northerly along North Prospect Street, crossing Riverside Avenue, and continuing along Intervale Road to the intersection of the railroad tracks, then easterly along the railroad tracks to the Winooski River and the boundary of the City of Burlington and the City of Winooski. The rest of Burlington is in Chittenden-3-1, Chittenden-3-2, Chittenden-3-3, Chittenden-3-4 and Chittenden-3-5. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two-member Chittenden-3-6 District had a population of 8,174 in that same census, 0.69% above the state average.

The Winooski Block is a historic commercial building at 1 through 17 East Allen Street (corner of Main Street) in downtown Winooski, Vermont. Built in 1867, it is the only major building to survive the city's urban renewal activities of the 1970s, and is a fine example of post-Civil War commercial architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Fort Frederick was a formidable blockhouse that was built at the Winooski (then “Onion”) River in 1773 by Ira Allen, one of the first English occupants to settle in the locality. He named it after the ten-year-old Frederick, Duke of York and Albany, second son of George III of the United Kingdom. Allen also established a shipyard nearby at the Winooski River bridge in 1772. The blockhouse served both as a fort and as a general store and office for the land-speculating “Onion River Company” and was built as a matter of security against the Yorkers and Indians, who at that time were held in equal enmity. Fort Frederick was never used for defense, but its protective presence increased the value of Onion River property and advanced local settlement. After the American Revolutionary War, Ira Allen returned to build a dam across the Winooski River with a sawmill at each end. That was the start of the use of the Winooski falls to generate energy and continued into the 20th century, with the construction of water-powered mills on both sides of the river.

The Chittenden-3-9 District includes a section of the Chittenden County city of South Burlington defined as follows: That portion of the City of South Burlington starting at the junction of the Burlington-South Burlington boundary and Williston Road and following that boundary starting northerly following the city boundary to the Winooski River, then following the South Burlington-Winooski River boundary to Muddy Brook, then following the Muddy Brook-South Burlington boundary to Williston Road, then westerly to Hinesburg Road/Patchen Road, then southerly to Woodcrest Street, then westerly on Woodcrest Street, then northerly on Woodcrest Street, then westerly on Woodcrest Street, then southerly on Woodcrest Street to Dean Street, then easterly on Dean Street to Hinesburg Road, then continuing southerly on Hinesburg Road to Potash Brook, then westerly following the centerline of Potash Brook to the intersection with Kennedy Drive, then westerly on Kennedy Drive to Dorset Street, then northerly on Dorset Street to Williston Road, then westerly to the point beginning at the junction of the Burlington-South Burlington boundary and Williston Road. The rest of South Burlington is in Chittenden-3-7, Chittenden-3-8, and Chittenden-3-10. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Chittenden-3-9 District had a population of 3,714 in that same census, 8.5% below the state average.

The Methodist Episcopal Church of Winooski, also known as the Winooski United Methodist Church, is an historic Methodist church building located at 24 West Allen Street in Winooski, Vermont. It was built in 1918, and is a significant local example of vernacular Carpenter Gothic architecture. On March 2, 2001, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
