The Chief Mistawasis Bridge (known as the North Commuter Parkway Bridge prior to June 2018) is a girder bridge in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The bridge officially opened on Oct. 2, 2018, and extends McOrmond Drive across the South Saskatchewan River to connect to Marquis Drive, providing a commuter bypass connecting communities on Saskatoon's northeast and eastern sides more directly to industrial and business development on the city's north. Construction of this bridge, located in the northern portion of the city, was financed in concert with construction of replacement for the 1907 Traffic Bridge in the downtown core, which was closed in 2010; that project was opened to traffic on October 3, 2018.In July 2016 officials announced that, when the bridge was complete, it would be given a name tied to Canada's indigenous peoples. The bridge was officially named the Chief Mistawasis Bridge, in honour of Mistawasis, the head of the Prairie Tribe and signer of Treaty 6 in 1876, at a ceremony on June 21, 2018.In March of 2017 CBC News described how a berm constructed in the river bed, to channel water around where the bridge's piers were being built was providing an opportunity for urban surfers. Officials warned thrill-seekers that construction made the water near the bridge extra hazardous.With its bridge-deck 21.6 metres (71 ft) above the river, it is Saskatoon's second highest bridge.

It lies (generally) south of the outskirts of the North West Industrial SDA, west of the South Saskatchewan River and the University Heights SDA, north of the Core Neighbourhoods SDA, and east of the North West Industrial SDA.

The Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre is an adult male, provincial correctional centre located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is one of four provincial correctional centres in the province including the Regina Correctional Centre, the Prince Albert Correctional Centre and the only female institution, the Pine Grove Correctional Centre. The centre generally holds approximately 450 offenders, including those of the low security annex, the Saskatoon Urban Camp. The centre holds alleged offenders that are currently awaiting trial (remanded) and those who are sentenced. As a provincial correctional centre, sentenced inmates serve a maximum of two years, less a day. Those who are sentenced to more than that are transferred to the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC). However, there are instances where federal inmates are sentenced to a provincial correctional centre, as the province of Saskatchewan has an exchange of services agreement with the CSC. As all provincial offenders will be released into the community, the goal of the correctional system is to prepare offenders for a successful reintegration into the community. This is often done by offering a wide variety of programming including alcohol and drug programming, anger management, cognitive skills, psychological counseling, spiritual counseling and traditional aboriginal programming.

The Regional Psychiatric Centre is classified as a custodial forensic psychiatry facility (Federal Forensic Hospital) with multiple security levels with a staff of 345, it is located on a 55-acre (22 ha) parcel of land owned by the University of Saskatchewan and opened in 1978. It is the only psychiatric hospital in the country with a therapeutic healing program designed for women offenders.The centre is the only of its kind affiliated with a university medical school and accredited as a hospital; patients are admitted and discharged by medical staff with senior medical staff and faculty jointly appointed with the university providing for the development of treatment and research programs. The centre is one of the residency training locations used by the Psychiatry Program at the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine.

It is the only Catholic high school in the north end of Saskatoon, serving the Silverwood Heights, Lawson Heights, River Heights, Richmond Heights, and North Park neighbourhoods. It is operated by Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools.
