New Hope Agricultural Colony is a historical site in Ripon, California in San Joaquin County. New Hope Agricultural Colony site is a California Historical Landmark No. 436, listed on June 2. 1942. In 1846, the first wheat in the San Joaquin Valley was planted about six miles west of Ripon by 20 Mormon pioneers that arrived from Brooklyn by ship. The crop was irrigated by the pole and bucket lifting method. The pioneers built three log homes, a sawmill and cable ferry across Stanislaus River, that became later Stanislaus City. On June 27, 1844, Mormons leader Joseph Smith was killed, follower of Joseph Smith moved west, most came west by wagon trains. The group at Ripon came by ship to San Francisco.A historical marker in Ripon was built by California Centennials Commission working with Alameda County Camps and the Daughters Utah Pioneers on October 22, 1949

Ripon is a city located in San Joaquin County, California. The population was 14,297 at the 2010 census. Ripon was originally known as Stanislaus City, but was renamed for Ripon, Wisconsin, in 1876.

Ripon High School is a public high school located in Ripon, California at 301 N. Acacia Ave. The school averages around 909 students, from grades 9–12. It is the only high school in the Ripon Unified School District. The school colors are red and white. In 2006, Ripon High School became one of the first schools in California to install various video cameras around the school with a stream to the local police department.

KGIG-LP (104.9 FM, "104.9 The Gig") is a low-power FM radio station broadcasting a news/talk format with some music programming devoted to local bands. Licensed to Modesto, California, United States, the station is currently owned by Fellowship of the Earth.

Salida (Spanish for "Exit") is a census-designated place (CDP) in Stanislaus County, California, in the United States. As of the 2010 census, the CDP population was 13,722. It is part of the Modesto Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cultivation of almonds has historically been a significant activity in the vicinity, including a major Blue Diamond processing facility nearby. The plant is involved exclusively in processing whole brown almond kernels with a "dry" process involving no water, heat or chemicals. Salida is within the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District which comprises 984 square miles (2,550 km2) of land area and attends to a variety of environmental conservation and best management agricultural practices.

Modesto Christian School is a private Christian school in Salida, California, on the outskirts of Modesto. It was formerly affiliated with the Assemblies of God; it was founded in 1962 by Pastor Roy Blakeley, who had previously founded Neighborhood Church. It was a charter member of the Association of Christian Schools International. The school educates children from preschool through 12th grade and is divided into an elementary, a middle, and a high school, which are housed on the same campus. It is a small school; combined enrollment was 285 in 2009 and 343 in 2013–14. The first graduating class, in 1976, consisted of 8 students; in 2007 there were 86.In 2016, a group headed by Glen Villanueva, a local physician, purchased Modesto Christian School and part of the campus from Neighborhood Church. The school is now under the ownership of Modesto Christian School Incorporated, and is now non-denominational. A charter school, Great Valley Academy, bought the remainder of the campus. Class sizes are small, there is a strict dress code, and in addition to Bible class and weekly church services, each class session starts with a prayer.The school values athletics highly. Greg Pearce, the athletics director and dean of students, said in 2009: "Our first goal is to prepare our kids spiritually. Our second is to prepare them academically and our third priority has to do with sports participation." It offers baseball, softball, football, tennis, track and field, volleyball, wrestling, and boys' and girls' basketball, golf, and soccer. It is a member of the Trans-Valley League of the Sac-Joaquin Section (CIF). The sports program has been very successful; Modesto Christian was named Cal Hi Sports Division V State School of the Year in 2006 and as of March 2007 had won four state championships, 10 Northern California championships, topped the Sac-Joaquin Section 17 times and the league 35 times. In 2014 three seniors signed letters of intent to attend top-tier colleges on sports scholarships and the football team was defeated in the divisional championship.The school has also been praised for its drama program.

Atlanta is an unincorporated community located in San Joaquin County, California. Its elevation is 62 ft (19 m) and is located at 37°48′47″N 121°07′15″W. Atlanta was established and named in 1866 when Atlanta, Georgia native Lee Wilson arrived at the locale and built a saloon and store. A blacksmith shop was established at the same time by the Averill brothers. The original center of Atlanta was located at Due Road – named after the ranch established by Danish-born Esper Hansen Due that is still in operation today – southeast of today's center. The time of the community's founding corresponds to the transition from ranching to farming in the area, especially the growing of wheat. Though, Hereford cattle were raised in Atlanta until the middle of the 20th century. Dairy cattle are still prevalent in the area as well. Today, the area is still largely agricultural, and consists of almond, walnut, olive, and cherry orchards. Wine grapes, specifically zinfandel and syrah, are also still grown. Wine bottled from the region, specifically red wine, is dark and rich, sharing many of the positive qualities of the wine from neighboring Lodi. Littlejohns Creek cuts through the northern part of Atlanta, and demarcates a change in soil content. On the north side, the ground is heavy and red, due to iron content. This is typically referred to as 'Stockon Adobe.' On the south side of the creek, there is sandy soil proliferated by 'hard pan.' This 'Fresno Loam' is more apt for high-drainage crops like almonds. This stretch goes far south into bordering Ripon, known as one of the 'almond capitals of the world.' From Atlanta, looking east one can see the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges, including Pyramid Peak in Tahoe and parts of Yosemite National Park. Looking west, one sees Mount Diablo and Mount Hamilton, site of the Lick Observatory. The community lies on the historic French Camp Road which runs southeast from Stockton. The road has been in existence since before the 1849 Gold Rush, and was served by the Fisher Stage Lines. It was an early favored route from Stockton along the east side of the San Joaquin Valley, leading to the Heath & Emory's Ferry crossing of the Stanislaus River just east of the present-day town of Oakdale. The road originally began at the head of the French Camp Slough just outside of Stockton which, during winter and spring flooding, was the only way to access Stockton, via ferry. The road itself traversed a section of sandy soil along a high ground route, and so kept well-drained, in contrast to the seas of mud encountered along other nearby roads during the rainy season. Atlanta today mainly falls within the Ripon and Escalon school districts.

Caswell Memorial State Park is a state park of California, United States, preserving a riparian forest along the Stanislaus River. It is located in southern San Joaquin County southwest of the town of Ripon. Riparian Oak Woodland, located in this park, is threatened and the park is trying to protect it. It once flourished through California's Central Valley. Caswell is also the home to several endangered species. The 258-acre (104 ha) park was established in 1952.The average temperature is 45–50 °F (7–10 °C) in the winter and 85–100 °F (29–38 °C) in the summer. It is common to exceed 100 °F (38 °C) for several consecutive days in the summer. Caswell is home to many mosquitoes. This park has been named after the landowner, Thomas Caswell. He enjoyed this beautiful forest and wanted to preserve it. In the 1950s, 134 acres (54 ha) of this forest were donated by his children and grandchildren to California before it was opened to the public as a state park in 1958.The riparian brush rabbit (S. b. riparius) is listed as an endangered species by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. Formerly numerous along the San Joaquin River and Stanislaus River, it is now reduced to a population of a few hundred here and was reintroduced to the adjacent San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge. This population has been negatively impacted by the destruction of the riparian habitat.

It used to be labeled as a continuation school due to its past of accepting expelled students, now Calla High School only accepts valid students of Manteca Unified School District, in the hope of receiving accelerated credits to get students back on track.

Manteca High School is a public, co-educational secondary school in Manteca, California, United States that was established on May 21, 1920. It is the oldest school within Manteca Unified School District. Although originally built with a tower, it was torn down because the structure failed to meet earthquake regulations.
