Bled

Zagorice (pronounced [zaɡɔˈɾiːcɛ], also Zagorica and formerly Bled–Zagorice; German: Auriz or Auritz) is a former settlement in the Municipality of Bled in northwestern Slovenia. It is now part of the town of Bled. The area is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Upper Carniola Statistical Region.

The Municipality of Bled (pronounced [ˈbleːt]; Slovene: Občina Bled) is a municipality in northwestern Slovenia in the Upper Carniola region. The seat of the municipality is the town of Bled, located on the shores of Lake Bled. The area is a popular tourist destination. The Municipality of Bled was established in October 1994. It was greatly reduced in size with the establishment of the Municipality of Gorje in June 2006, because it has retained only 38% of its previous territory.

IEDC-Bled School of Management, located in Bled, Slovenia, is a business school. It was founded in 1986 upon an initiative of Slovenian business community as the International Executive Development Center. IEDC is dedicated to executive education only, operates independently from any university, and is run by a group of faculty under the President and Dean Professor Danica Purg, who has served as the dean since the inception. IEDC utilizes unique teaching methods: for example, it "has long been a champion of art as a tool in leadership development" (Anderson, 2008), integrated topics such as 'Sustainability for Competitive Advantage" throughout all long programs, and offers one-on-one mentorship with senior leaders for its Executive MBA participants. The core intention of IEDC-Bled School of Management is to be an agent of change in the region, so courses, professors, and activities are selected to continuously challenge countries with transitional economies to increase business quality and results. To this end, IEDC has founded CEEMAN–Central and Eastern European Management Development Association, the European Leadership Center, the Slovenian chapter of the United Nations Global Compact, and other regional and international initiatives.

Želeče (pronounced [ʒɛˈleːtʃɛ], formerly Bled–Želeče; German: Schalkendorf) is a former settlement in the Municipality of Bled in northwestern Slovenia. It is now part of the town of Bled. The area is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Upper Carniola Statistical Region.

Bled Castle (Slovene: Blejski grad, German: Burg Veldes) is a medieval castle built on a precipice above the city of Bled in Slovenia, overlooking Lake Bled. According to written sources, it is the oldest Slovenian castle and is currently one of the most visited tourist attractions in Slovenia. Nowadays, the castle is employed as a historical museum with a collection that represents the lake's history.

Lake Bled (Slovene: Blejsko jezero; German: Bleder See, Veldeser See) is a lake in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniolan region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. The area is a tourist destination. The lake is 35 km (22 mi) from Ljubljana International Airport and 55 km (34 mi) from the capital city, Ljubljana. Lake Bled is 4.2 km (2.6 mi) from the Lesce–Bled train station.
