Buckholt is a hamlet and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England, close to the border with Wiltshire. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 17. The parish is about 10 miles (16 km) north of Romsey.

There are about 450 dwellings, and just under 1000 people, with domestic architecture spanning 600 years. The 2001 census recorded a parish population of 1,029, reducing to 1,003 at the 2011 Census.The village has a school, doctor's surgery, two pubs, a village shop, cafe and post office. Broughton Community Shop is a community run and funded business that opened in August 2018, after the long standing village store and post office closed due to the retirement of its owners.The village hall occupies a central position in the Village. In 2019, the hall was completely refurbished to include the community shop, cafe and post office. The hall also homes the Broughton Community Archive which is a huge collection of photographs and documents that was created over a period of 65 years by a village doctor, Dr Robert Parr. This collection was donated to the village, together with the space to store it in the village hall. The Manor of Broughton is recorded in the Domesday Book and was held at different times by the Earl of Southampton, and the Duke of Kingston-upon-Hull. The current manor house is a Grade II* listed building, dating from the 18th century.The Church of England parish church of St Mary the Virgin dates from the 12th century. The 19th-century Baptist chapel has been closed for worship and sold for development.In 1990, Broughton was twinned with the picturesque medieval village of Sauve, near Nimes, in the south of France.

Nether Wallop is a village and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England. It is located approximately 3.7 miles (6 km) northwest of Stockbridge, and approximately 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Andover. Nether Wallop is the easternmost of the three villages collectively known as The Wallops, the other two being Over Wallop and Middle Wallop. The name "Wallop" derives from the Old English words waella and hop, which taken together roughly mean "the valley of springing water". The village was the site of the Battle of Guoloph that took place around AD 440. The element 'Wallop' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086 as 'Wallope', while Nether Wallop is first attested as 'Wollop inferior' c. 1270 in Episcopal Registers.Nether Wallop contains many old thatched cottages, and has been featured in books and TV programmes as one of the prettiest villages in England. In particular, Dane Cottage in Five Bells Lane was used as Miss Marple's home in the village of St. Mary Mead for the BBC TV adaptations of the Agatha Christie novels. The house and many of the surrounding lanes within the village were used as the setting and are commonly seen throughout many of the Miss Marple films. Sir Richard Reade (1511–1575), Lord Chancellor of Ireland, was a native of Nether Wallop, where his family were Lords of the Manor for several generations. The conductor Leopold Stokowski died at his home in Nether Wallop on 13 September 1977. The church of St Andrew is partly Anglo-Saxon, and unique fragments of frescoes apparently dating to the late Anglo-Saxon period have been discovered.For more than 200 years one of the two village pubs, The Five Bells, was a place to meet, eat and enjoy alcohol. For a few it was the centre of the village; a social hub along with the uniquely quaint village hall. Over the last two decades it has had a number of tenants and managers who were unable to make a success of the business. It finally closed in 2013 when the most recent tenant surrendered his lease early citing a lack of local support for the pub. The Nether Wallop Parish Council had it listed as a Community Asset that year. Whilst it remains closed the village has formed a Community Benefit Society, and sufficient pledged finance, to buy it at its current market value, but have so far failed to provide the owners with evidence of the availability of the funds for their proposed purchase .

West Tytherley is a village and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England. Its nearest town is Stockbridge, which lies approximately 6 miles (10 km) north-east from the village, although its post town is Salisbury. The parish shares a joint parish council with the neighbouring parish of Frenchmoor.The church of St Winfrith in East Dean, Hampshire has a 15th century font from West Tytherley churchyard.

The Battle of Guoloph, also known as the Battle of Wallop, took place in the 5th century. Various dates have been put forward: 440 AD by Alfred Anscombe, 437 AD according to John Morris, and 458 by Nikolai Tolstoy. It took place at what is now Nether Wallop, 15 kilometers southeast of Amesbury, in the district of Test Valley, northeastern Hampshire. The battle was an internal conflict between the rival Britonnic forces of Ambrosius Aurelianus and Vortigern (Vitalinus).

Middle Wallop is a village in the civil parish of Nether Wallop in Hampshire, England, on the A343 road. At the 2011 Census the population was included in the civil parish of Over Wallop. The village has a public house, The George Inn, and a petrol station as well as The Wallops Parish Hall.

East Tytherley is a small village in Hampshire, England.The name Tytherley comes from Old English and means thin or tender wood.The village was given to Queen Philippa by her husband Edward III in 1335. When the Black Death spread through London she moved her court to the village.The village church is St Peter’s. It is largely dates from the 13th cenurty with a heavy restoration between 1862 and 1863. A Tower on the north side was completed in 1898In more recent history William Fothergill Cooke invented the first commercial electrical telegraph whilst living in the village.

Ashley's Copse is the site of an Iron Age hillfort, about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of the city of Salisbury, England, straddling the border between the counties of Wiltshire and Hampshire. The site is a scheduled monument.Half the site is wooded, and here can be found the best preserved earthworks, but there is also visible evidence of some of the earthworks on the eastern spur of the hill. To the southeast of the fort lies a steep valley, forming a natural defence. The flanks to the north and east are also tightly contoured but the ground on the other aspects slopes less steeply. The fort site is not on the summit of the (unnamed) hill, but lies slightly to the east of the 166m AOD summit, at between 155m and 160m AOD.

The village lies close to the border with Wiltshire, approximately 5.1 miles (8.2 km) northwest of Stockbridge. Over Wallop is the westernmost of the three villages collectively known as The Wallops, the other two being Middle Wallop and Nether Wallop. The name "Wallop" derives from the Old English words waella and hop, which taken together roughly mean "the valley of springing water". Over Wallop was described in the Domesday Book as the 'other Wallop', smaller than Nether Wallop. Over Wallop contains the spring that sources a small river known by locals as “The Brook”. “The Brook” is a tributary of the River Test. A linear earthwork and flint mines are located in the parish. The earthwork, known as the Quarley High Linear band and ditch, was constructed 245 ± 155 BC. The flint mines date to 3983 ± 106 BC.

Frenchmoor is a hamlet and civil parish in the Test Valley district of Hampshire, England, close to the border with Wiltshire. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 25. The parish is about 10 miles (16 km) north-west of Romsey. Frenchmoor is roughly equisidiant between the larger settlements of East Tytherley and West Tytherley.

Mottisfont Bats is a 196.7-hectare (486-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Winchester in Hampshire. It is also a Special Area of Conservation.The site consists of woods around Mottisfont, which supports a population of the barbastelle bat which is considered by Natural England to be of national importance. The site is used by the barbastelles for breeding, roosting, commuting and feeding. It is the only known maternity roost in Hampshire and one of only six known sites in the United Kingdom as of 2002. Eight other bat species have been recorded at Mottisfont: whiskered, brown long-eared, common and soprano pipistrelles, serotine, noctule, Daubenton's and Natterer's. Mottisfont contains a mix of woodland types including hazel coppice with standards, broadleaved plantation and coniferous plantation.
