The Old Saco High School, also formerly the Sweetser School, is a historic former school building on Spring Street in Saco, Maine. Built in 1871–72, it is a late work of the noted Portland architect George M. Harding, and one of the city's finest Victorian public buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and now houses apartments.

Dyer Library is the public library serving Saco, Maine. Funded by a bequest from Olive Dyer, the first home of the Dyer Library opened in 1881 in the basement of Saco City Hall. The library is now located in the J.G. Deering House.

The J. G. Deering House, also known as the Dyer Library/Saco Museum, is an historic house at 371 Main Street in Saco, Maine. Completed in 1870, it is a fine local example of Italianate style. Built for Joseph Godfrey Deering, it was given by his heirs to the city for use as a library. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Thornton Academy (often abbreviated as TA) is a co-educational, independent boarding and day school serving grades 9–12 located in Saco, Maine. Thornton Academy also opened a full-time, private junior high school on its campus, named Thornton Academy Middle School, which serves grades 6-8 for Saco, Dayton and Arundel students.

Saco City Hall is located at 300 Main Street in downtown Saco, Maine. It is a transitional Greek Revival-Italianate brick building, designed by Thomas Hill and built in 1855. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Former Saco Central Fire Station is a historic fire station at 14 Thornton Avenue in Saco, Maine. Built in 1939 with funding from the Public Works Administration, it was the city's first modern firehouse, designed to house motorized (rather than horse-drawn) equipment, and outfitted with the latest technology. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. The building housed the fire department until 2011, and has since been converted into a mixed-use residential and commercial property.

Saco Transportation Center, also referred to as Saco or Saco–Biddeford in some timetables, is a passenger transportation station in Saco, Maine, served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system, and other transportation providers. On average, about 110 passengers daily board or alight Amtrak's Downeaster service at the station, making it the third-busiest stop in Maine. The station is located next to the Pan Am Railways mainline, formerly the Western Route mainline of the Boston & Maine Railroad. The train platform was constructed in 2001, and the station building was constructed in 2008 and opened in 2009. The station, at 138 Main Street, is owned by the City of Saco. The station is notable for being the first green design train station in the U.S. When it was built, it featured a wind turbine for electricity, geothermal heating and cooling systems, and a roof made from recycled soda bottles; however, the wind turbine, which cost the city about $200,000, did not produce the expected amount of electricity, and was shut down in 2006 after safety concerns. It was removed in November 2018.

The Saco Historic District encompasses the historic commercial and residential centers of Saco, Maine. Covering more than 100 acres (40 ha) of central Saco, it includes houses from the 18th through 20th centuries, and the main business district along Main Street. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Thacher-Goodale House is a historic house at 121 North Street in Saco, Maine. Built in 1827, it is a sophisticated early expression of Greek Revival architecture, retaining significant Federal period details. Built for George Thacher, Jr., a lawyer, it was owned for many years by members of the Goodale family, most notably the botanist George Lincoln Goodale. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Dudley Block is a historic mixed-use commercial and residential building in at 28-34 Water Street in downtown Biddeford, Maine. Built in 1848, it is one of the older buildings in the downtown area, and is a fine example of Greek Revival commercial architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, and was included in the Biddeford Main Street Historic District in 2009.

St. Andre's Parish is a former parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, located on Bacon and Sullivan Streets in Biddeford, Maine, USA. The parish was founded in 1860 to serve the city's large French-Canadian and French-American communities. On July 1, 2008, St. Andres was merged into the newly formed Good Shepherd Parish. The parish complex of four buildings, including the church, rectory, convent and school, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015, at which time most of it stood vacant.

The A. B. Seavey House is a historic house at 90 Temple Street in Saco, Maine. Built in 1890, it is one of the city's finest examples of Queen Anne architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
