San José Unified School District (abbreviated SJUSD) is a TK-12 unified school district in Santa Clara County, California, that covers a large portion of the city of San Jose. The district has more than 3,000 full-time employees serving approximately 30,000 students in 41 schools from Downtown San Jose in the north to the Almaden Valley in the south. It is one of 19 school districts that serve parts of San Jose, the largest school district in the Santa Clara Valley, and the 24th largest in California.

The Alameda is a historic district of Central San Jose, California, west of Downtown San Jose. The district is centered on an alameda (Spanish for tree-lined street), a historic portion of El Camino Real connecting Downtown San Jose to Mission Santa Clara de Asís, and includes the smaller, surrounding neighborhoods to the north and east, like College Park and St. Leo's.

The Leib Carriage House is a historic building located at 60 N. Keeble Ave. in San Jose, California, in The Alameda district. The carriage house, owned by Judge Samuel Franklin Leib, was built in the 1870s as the Garden Alameda area was being developed. The estate and original home are gone, but the carriage house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Fuller Law Firm is the current owner of the property. Samuel Franklin Leib was a successful San Jose attorney whose clients included Mrs. Sarah Winchester and Mrs. Jane Stanford.

The San Jose Central Fire Station, also known as San Jose Fire Station One, was the central fire station for the San Jose Fire Department in downtown San Jose, California. The International-style firehouse was designed by the architectural firm Binder & Curtis and built in 1951. The station became the city's central fire station, equipped with a new communication system that served as a command center for emergency services across the entire city. Its historical significance is association with the mid-century expansion of San Jose. The building now houses the San Jose Fire Museum on Market Street. The Fire Station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 7, 2015. On January 31, 2024, the The Mercury News announced the celebration of the San Jose Fire Department's 170th anniversary at the San Jose Fire Museum.

Saint Leo the Great School is a private Catholic school (pre-k to 8th) located in the St. Leo's neighborhood of central San Jose, California. Founded in 1915, the school is associated with the Saint Leo the Great Church, located on its campus.

Saint Leo the Great Church is a Roman Catholic church in the St. Leo's neighborhood of San Jose, California. Founded in 1923, it is a territorial parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Jose in California and named for Pope Leo I, a Doctor of the Church.

St. Leo's is a small neighborhood of The Alameda district, in Central San Jose, California. It takes its name from the Saint Leo the Great Church, located in the center of the neighborhood.

The Caltrain Centralized Equipment Maintenance and Operations Facility (CEMOF) is a train maintenance yard and facility located to the north of San Jose Diridon Station in Central San Jose, California. The $140 million maintenance station began construction in 2004 and opened in 2007, consolidating much of Caltrain's maintenance and operations into one location.

College Park is a lightly used Caltrain station serving the College Park neighborhood and the Bellarmine College Preparatory school in San Jose, California. It is served by two weekday-only round trips, with no weekend service.

Midtown San Jose is a mixed commercial and residential district of San Jose, California, to the southwest of Downtown San Jose and east of West San Carlos.

San Jose Diridon station is the central passenger rail depot for San Jose, California. It also serves as a major intermodal transit center for Santa Clara County and Silicon Valley. The station is named after former Santa Clara County Supervisor Rod Diridon. The station is on the Union Pacific Coast Line tracks (formerly Southern Pacific) at 65 Cahill Street in San Jose. The depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its Italian Renaissance Revival style architectural and historical significance. The station is served by Caltrain, ACE, VTA light rail, and Amtrak trains. The bus plaza at the station is served by Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach, Greyhound, Megabus, Monterey-Salinas Transit, Santa Cruz Metro (Highway 17 Express), and VTA buses. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) metro service to a new underground station is projected to begin in 2029–2030 with the completion of the Silicon Valley BART extension.

Bellarmine College Preparatory is an all-male, Jesuit, private secondary school located in San Jose, California. Founded in 1851, it is the oldest secondary school in California and the second-oldest west of the Mississippi River. In 2020, Niche ranked Bellarmine as #1 in Best All-Boys High Schools in California.
