RAF Burtonwood

Omega is a property development site in Warrington, Cheshire comprising 226 hectares straddling the M62 motorway. The site comprises a large part of the former RAF/USAF Burtonwood airbase. A new junction on the M62 (junction 8) was built in anticipation of the development.The whole site was to provide 650,000 sq m of offices, manufacturing and distribution space along with ancillary leisure/retail facilities, hotel and conference facilities. Around 24,000 jobs were hoped to be created over the lifetime of the scheme to make one of Europe's largest business parks.A large part of the southern part of the site was eventually allocated to new housing.

It is a member of the Omega Multi-Academy Trust (OMAT). The school was first built in the 1970s and extensions have included a mathematics & humanities block and theatre. The school also has a linking leisure centre and arts theatre. GSHS has been awarded, and retained, an Artsmark Gold award, the highest award for the Arts. GSHS is partnered with South Peninsula High School in Cape Town, South Africa.In 2010, GSHS was classified as an Outstanding school by Ofsted. The school converted to academy status in January 2013. In October 2017, the school was reclassified by Ofsted as a Good school.

Within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire, the name Burtonwood is known worldwide as the location of the former RAF Station Burtonwood military camp. Burtonwood village itself is a few miles away from the site of the former station. The civil parish also includes Westbrook, which is a council ward and suburb of Warrington. According to the 2001 census, the population of the entire civil parish was 11,265.

It converted from comprehensive to academy status in April 2013. In April 2018, Mr. John Carlin, one of the youngest headteachers in the United Kingdom, took the role of headteacher at Penketh.The school has an partnership with Kwadeda High School in South Africa, who helped to produce a feature film called The Opportunity. This film was targeted at teenage audiences, to make them aware of HIV, drugs and other problems, that are high risk factors in South Africa.

Penketh is a civil parish and suburb of Warrington in the Borough of Warrington, Cheshire, England. It is located about 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Warrington town centre. It has a population of 8,699. It is in the historic county of Lancashire. The name is derived from two Brythonic words: *penno- (head) and *kēto- (trees) (Welsh pen coed); suggesting that the parish was at one time on the outskirts of a forest. The emblem/badge of Penketh is three kingfishers.

Bewsey Old Hall is a brick built, three storey, mainly Jacobean building, incorporating or reusing elements of a former medieval hall situated on the edge of Sankey Valley Park in Warrington, Cheshire. Bewsey Old Hall and estate was home to the Lords of Warrington from the thirteenth to the seventeenth century. The name 'Bewsey' is believed to have been derived from the French 'Beau Se', or 'is beautiful' and likely refers to the hall's position on the edge of Burton Wood, next to Sankey Brook
