Maple Court Apartments is a historic apartment building at 1115-1133 Maple Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story brick building was built in 1915. Architect George S. Kingsley gave the building a geometrical design similar to those used in Prairie School buildings, though the building is not itself Prairie School. The building's design includes patterned brickwork, limestone arches and windowsills, and parapets with decorative sunbursts. The U-shaped building surrounds an open courtyard, a common feature of Evanston's apartment buildings.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

The Building at 1101–1113 Maple Avenue is a historic rowhouse building in Evanston, Illinois. Built in 1892, the three-story building includes seven attached rowhouses. Late nineteenth century rowhouses such as this were precursors to Evanston's suburban apartment buildings of the early twentieth century, which also offered house-like living in a multi-family setting. Architect S.H. Warner designed the building in the Queen Anne style. The building's design includes gambrel porch roofs, projecting bays, patterned shingle siding, and a corner turret.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

The Building at 1316 Maple Avenue is a historic apartment building at 1316 Maple Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story cream brick building was built in 1928. Architect Edward M. Sieja designed the building in the Tudor Revival style. The building's design includes limestone quoins, projecting bays, casement windows, and a parapet at the roof. The building's lobby features wooden ceiling beams and a mosaic tile floor, giving it the appearance of a castle's great hall.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

Dempster is an 'L' station on the CTA's Purple Line at 1316 Sherman Place in Evanston, Illinois (directional coordinates 1300 north, 800 west). The current station has been in place since 1910. A 1991 CTA budget crisis almost precipitated the station's closure, but the CTA decided to keep it open. Dempster is now one of the stations on the CTA's 2004-2008 Capital Improvement Plan.

Dempster Street was a commuter railroad station on the Chicago and North Western Railway's Milwaukee Division, now the Union Pacific / North Line. The station was located at Dempster Street and Sherman Avenue, in Evanston, Illinois. It was adjacent to the Dempster Purple Line station. The station consisted of a pair of side platforms on the outside of the line's three tracks. Consistent with the C&NW's left-hand running, the eastern track and platform served southbound trains (to Chicago) while the western track and platform served northbound trains (to Milwaukee). The center track was a through track and did not serve the station. The entire facility was elevated above ground level on a solid fill embankment. Access to the platforms was available by a number of stairways on both sides of the crossing of Dempster. By the 1950s, Chicago and North Western management began to reassess its commuter service and determined that the railroad would be more economical and efficient by closing stations in and near Chicago and focusing on suburban and long-haul traffic while the Chicago Transit Authority could carry passengers in Chicago and its neighboring suburbs. To this end, the company went before the Illinois Commerce Commission in June 1958, requesting permission to abandon more than twenty stops, alter train schedules, revise its ticketing structure, and raise fares on monthly tickets. The ICC returned its verdict on November 14, ruling in favor of granting the majority of the Chicago and North Western's requests, which included the closure of the Dempster Street station. The fare increase and service alterations went into effect on December 1, 1958, and Dempster Street was abandoned along with twenty other stations either in or near Chicago on the Milwaukee, Galena, and Wisconsin Divisions.

The Building at 1401–1407 Elmwood Avenue is a historic rowhouse building at 1401–1407 Elmwood Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. Built in 1890, the three-story building includes four rowhouse units. It was one of several rowhouses built in the late nineteenth century in Evanston; these rowhouses were a precursor to Evanston's many suburban apartments, which also offered house-like living in a multi-unit setting. Architect Stephen A. Jennings, a prominent Evanston architect who designed several of Evanston's large single-family homes, designed the building. The building's design includes a large central gable, enclosed porches supported by arches on the corner units, porches with shed roofs on the central units, and a bracketed wooden cornice.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

The George B. Dryden House is a historic house located at 1314 Ridge Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. The house was built in 1916 for George B. and Ellen A. Dryden. George was a successful Chicago businessman, while Ellen was the heiress of George Eastman; together, the couple was worth over $9 million. Architect George W. Maher designed the Georgian Revival house. While Maher was better known as a Prairie School architect, the Drydens requested a Georgian design inspired by Ellen's memories of Eastman's home. The three-story house features an entrance portico supported by four Corinthian columns and topped by a pediment. The house is faced with brick and features quoins at the corners and keystones above the windows. A wooden frieze and cornice run below the base of the roof, which begins below the third floor and features several projecting dormers.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1978.

Evanston S.P.A.C.E. (or Evanston SPACE) is a small concert hall and venue for music performance and live recording, and a podcast production facility, as well as serves similarly for the visual arts and literary events located at 1245 Chicago Avenue in Evanston, Illinois, adjacent to Chicago, in close proximity to the CTA Purple Line mass transit elevated train station Dempster, just south of Dempster Avenue. It opened in spring 2008, along with Union Pizzeria, an affiliated restaurant in the same building.It is a notable small concert space in the Chicago area, that seats about 250 people at candle-lit small round tables and as standing spectators. The SPACE has over the years played host to the most renowned folk music artists in the Western World; for example, only in 2014-2015 winter timeframe to Suzanne Vega, Leo Kottke, Justin Townes Earle and Robyn Hitchcock, among many tens of events. S.P.A.C.E. is an acronym for the Society for the Preservation of Art and Culture in Evanston. As of 2018, Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golden, through their firm 16” on Center, own, co-own, operate, and/or co-operate several music venues, including The Empty Bottle, The Promontory, Evanston S.P.A.C.E., Sonotheque (which closed in 2009), and Thalia Hall, all in and near Chicago. Finkeleman and Golde are similarly affiliated with several other restaurants and bars, both at those music venues and free-standing, including Bite Cafe, Dusek's, and Longman & Eagle.

The Evanston Ridge Historic District is a residential historic district in Evanston, Illinois. The district is situated along a glacial ridge that was the site of the first white settlement in Evanston in the 1830s. As the development of Evanston accelerated in the mid-nineteenth century, the ridge became a desirable location for new residents, and the growth of Northwestern University and new rail links to Chicago continued to spur development into the twentieth century. As a result, the houses in the district were built over the course of several decades, with most built between 1860 and 1930. Wealthy Chicagoans were particularly drawn to the area, and its homes frequently had formal architectural designs. The Italianate, Queen Anne, and Prairie School styles are all particularly common in the district.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 3, 1983.

The Building at 1505–1509 Oak Avenue is a historic apartment building in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story brick building was built in 1925. The building is L-shaped with a half courtyard, a relatively common apartment layout in Evanston. Architect Samuel N. Crowen, who designed two other apartment buildings in Evanston, designed the building. The building's design features limestone pilasters separating its windows, limestone quoins, pilasters and a pediment around the entrance, and a brick parapet.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

Ridge Grove is a historic apartment building at 1112 Grove Street in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story brick building was built in 1928. Architect Edward M. Sieja designed the building, which incorporates geometric and Neoclassical elements. The building features a projecting section across most of its front facade, sidelights and a fan around the entrance, limestone trim, and piers at its corners. The lobby includes a mock fireplace to resemble the foyer of a house.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.

Ridge Boulevard Apartments is a historic apartment building at the southeast corner of Ridge Avenue and Main Street in Evanston, Illinois. The three-story brick building was built in 1913. Owner Thomas McCall, who was also an architect, designed the building. McCall's design included miter arched entrances, bay windows, stone banding, and a rear courtyard. The twenty-one apartments in the building featured amenities such as sun porches, servants' rooms, and fireplaces in the larger units.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 15, 1984.
