Schalks Falls

West Saugerties is a hamlet in Ulster County, New York, United States and part of the Town of Saugerties. West Saugerties is located at 42°06′45″N 74°02′53″W (42.112590, -74.048193). It lies 607 feet (185 m) above sea level.

Platte Clove, sometimes Plattekill Clove, is a narrow and steep valley in the Catskill Mountains of New York. The valley is situated between Kaaterskill High Peak and Roundtop Mountain to the north and Plattekill Mountain and Indian Head Mountain to the south. It is mostly in Greene County, although the lowest, eastern portions are in Ulster County. The stream that runs below is called Plattekill Creek. A few hiking trails go through the Clove including Devil's Path and Huckleberry Point Trail. The area hosts bicycle racing events.

Echo Lake is a mountain lake within the Indian Head Wilderness of the Catskill Mountains, located in the valley between the two mountains Plattekill and Overlook, near Woodstock, New York, United States of America. Echo Lake was historically named Shens Lake in state law defining the borders of Ulster County, circa. 1777-1801, or Shoes Lake in the Beer's 1875 Ulster County Atlas.

Tuscarora Club Bridge (also known as Demis Covered Bridge and the Dunraven Covered Bridge) is a wooden covered bridge in the Town of Middletown, New York. It is one of 24 covered bridges in New York State. It is one of three that is less historic and is not landmarked. The bridge started as a 38 foot long Queenpost truss toll gate bridge built in 1870 by William Mead. It originally spanned the Platte Kill stream in the village of Dunraven. According to Ward Herrmann, “When the new road was constructed from Margaretville to Arena, it crossed the stream on a modern iron bridge below the old route, and the covered bridge was left abandoned.” In 1935 it was moved to its present location on property owned by the Tuscarora Club south of Margaretville off Mill Road. It was shortened to 24 feet and became a Kingpost truss. These changes rendered it ineligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Today it carries foot trail over Mill Brook and is closed to vehicular traffic and people who are not members or guests of the Club.In 2011, the bridge was significantly damaged due to flooding caused by Hurricane Irene. It was repaired in 2013.

Old Platte Clove Post Office is a historic post office building located at Elka Park in Greene County, New York. It was built about 1885 and is a light wood balloon frame Victorian-era T-shaped structure that served a residence and post office. It was used as a residence and post office from 1888 to 1911.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Overlook Mountain is the southernmost peak of the Catskill Escarpment in the central Catskill Mountains near Woodstock, New York. The centerpiece of the 590-acre (240 ha) Overlook Mountain Wild Forest area of Catskill Park, the mountain is the site of one of the remaining five Catskill Mountain fire towers and the Overlook Mountain House, a hotel which was built at a higher elevation than any other in the range.
