Detroit Conservatory of Music

The Samuel L. Smith House is located at 5035 Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit, Michigan. It was also known as the Schools Annex. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Maccabees Building (sometimes called Wayne Tower) is a historic building located at 5057 Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and is currently owned by Wayne State University.

Warren Avenue is a QLine streetcar station in Detroit, Michigan. The station opened for service on May 12, 2017, and is located in Midtown Detroit. The station services the Detroit Medical Center, the Cultural Center neighborhood, and Wayne State University.

The Cathedral Church of St. Paul is the cathedral church of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan. In 1824 its congregation formed as the first Episcopal and first Protestant church in the Michigan Territory. Designed by architect Ralph Adams Cram and constructed in 1907, this building is located at 4800 Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, adjacent to the campus of Wayne State University. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The George W. Loomer House is a private residence located at 71 West Hancock Street in Midtown Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Detroit's Marwil Bookstore was a local book store, independently owned in Detroit, Michigan. It was founded in 1948 by Milton and Lenore Marwil. Marwil existed on the Wayne State University campus as a cultural attraction for the students and faculty of Wayne State University and from members of the surrounding communities who were interested in scholarly work. Marwil Bookstore closed its doors permanently in December 2013.

The Mulford T. Hunter House is a private residence located at 77 West Hancock Street in Midtown Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 22, 1994.

The Detroit Festival of the Arts was a three-day arts festival in Detroit, Michigan, held on the second weekend of June. First held in 1986, the Festival featured free musical performances, art showings, activities for children, and local food. It was located in Detroit's cultural center, spanning the Detroit Institute of Arts, the main branch of the Detroit Public Library, and the main Wayne State University campus. A giant sand sculpture had been a fixture of the event since 2004. The theme of the sand sculpture was selected by the sponsors and not by the artists. Official sponsors for the 2007 Festival included DaimlerChrysler, Macy's and the Metro Times. In 2009, the University Cultural Center Association and Wayne State University produced a new event called "Midsummer Nights in Midtown," which took place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the month of June that year.

The Detroit Electronic Music Archive (DEMA) began in June 2005 in Detroit, Michigan. It is housed in the Detroit Public Library. It is curated by Barbara Martin at the E. Azalia Hackley Collection. The DEMA documents, collects, preserves, and disseminates information about Detroit's unique, continuing contribution to electronic dance music and promotes understanding of those contributions as originating within Detroit's African-American community. The activities of the DEMA includes research, education and outreach programming, performance programming, and publications. These diverse services and resources impacts a wide range of audiences and constituencies, including academic researchers; musicians, composers, arrangers, and music directors; high school and grade school teachers and students; journalists and music writers; and filmmakers and television producers. The DEMA Archives, conferences, and DEMA performance programs are open to the public. The DEMA was founded in recognition of a need to organize the incredibly scope and diversity of Detroit's electronic culture. The DEMA currently has no funding. With the help of the E. Azalia Hackley Collection (part of the Detroit Public Library) though the DEMA hopes to promote situations for fundraising and awareness.

The Detroit Public Library is the second largest library system in the U.S. state of Michigan by volumes held (after the University of Michigan Library) and the 21st-largest library system (and the fourth-largest public library system) in the United States. It is composed of the Main Library on Woodward Avenue, which houses the library's administration offices, and 23 branch locations across the city. The Main Library is part of Detroit's Cultural Center Historic District listed in the National Register of Historic Places adjacent to Wayne State University campus and across from the Detroit Institute of Arts. Designed by Cass Gilbert, the Detroit Public Library was constructed with Vermont marble and serpentine Italian marble trim in an Italian Renaissance style. His son, Cass Gilbert, Jr. was a partner with Francis Keally in the design of the library's additional wings added in 1963. Among his other buildings, Cass Gilbert designed the United States Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C., the Minnesota State Capitol and the Woolworth Building in New York City.

The Meinzinger Art School was an art school founded by Frederick J. Meinzinger in Detroit's midtown area. The school opened in the early 1930s and closed in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
