Founded in 1847 on the banks of the Willamette River, the city, known as the Dogwood City of the West, was incorporated in 1903 and is the birthplace of the Bing cherry. Kellogg Creek is a tributary, about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) long, of the Willamette River in the Portland metropolitan area of the U.S. state of Oregon. It begins near Lake Lenore in Johnson City and flows northwest to meet the river at Milwaukie. Kellogg Creek is joined about midway along its course by Mount Scott Creek, its major tributary, which enters the main stem near North Clackamas Central Park.Mount Scott Creek and its tributaries, Phillips and Dean creeks, drain the western flanks of Mount Scott. Kellogg Creek empties into the Willamette River slightly upstream of the mouth of Johnson Creek. This is about 18.5 miles (29.8 km) above the Willamette's confluence with the Columbia River, which in turn flows about another 100 miles (160 km) to the Pacific Ocean at Astoria.

The Hall–Chaney House in Milwaukie, Oregon was built in 1916 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.It was designed by architects Lawrence and Holford in Mediterranean style architecture. Its NRHP nomination explains that architect-designed fine detailing in the interior includes arched windows and door openings, a central stairwell with "a beautifully carved rail and turned balusters", "ornately carved mantelpieces, built-in book cases, niches, and wood panelling."An architecturally compatible swimming pool addition was added in 1923.

Amenities at the station including bike parking and connections to TriMet bus routes 29, 32, 33, and 34; it also has no parking spaces for cars.

Milwaukie High School is a public high school located in Milwaukie, Oregon, United States. It is one of four public high schools within the North Clackamas School District. The school's mascot is the mustang, and its colors are maroon and gold.
