Wrightwood is a station on Metra's SouthWest Service in Wrightwood neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. The station is 11.5 miles (18.5 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the northern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Wrightwood is in zone C. As of 2018, Wrightwood is the 154th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 261 weekday boardings. There is an unstaffed shelter and across from the station is Norfolk Southern's Landers Yard. As of January 16, 2023, Wrightwood is served by 27 trains (14 inbound, 13 outbound) on weekdays. Saturday service is currently suspended.

Lionel Hampton Fine & Performing Arts School is a public magnet school for grades K–8 in southwestern Chicago, Illinois, United States. This school was started in the fall of 2000. This school was formerly known as New Dawes.

WVON's predecessor station began catering to an African-American audience in the 1940s. In 1963 Chess Records bought the station and debuted WVON, with its programming of soul, and rhythm and blues music becoming very popular throughout the 1960s. The station's news and commentary also played an active role during the Civil Rights Movement during this era. Its present African-American-oriented talk format began in 1986. The station served as a springboard for Barack Obama during the early days of his political career. Licensed to Berwyn, Illinois, WVON has studios in the South Loop, and its transmitter is located at 87th and Kedzie in Chicago's Ashburn community.

WRLL (1690 AM) was an oldies radio station licensed to Berwyn, Illinois, USA, serving the Chicago market. It was owned and operated by Clear Channel Communications. The station's transmitter was located in Chicago's Ashburn neighborhood, near the Evergreen Park, Illinois border, and operated as a diplexed operation from one of the towers of its sister station, WGCI (now WGRB). The station ran 10,000 watts during the day, and 1,000 watts at night, using a non-directional antenna.

WGRB (1390 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Chicago. It is owned by iHeartMedia and it airs an urban gospel format. On Sundays, the station broadcasts the services of several African-American churches in the area. The studios are at the Illinois Center complex on Michigan Avenue in Downtown Chicago. WGRB transmits 5,000 watts, using a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is off South Kedzie Avenue near West 87th Street in the city's southwest side.

Luther High School South was a private Lutheran high school in the Ashburn neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, near the village of Evergreen Park. From 2009 to 2010, the school was named Luther South Math, Science, and Performing Arts High School, with the name, the focus, and the primary source of funding for the school changed after several years of difficult financial situations. The name was changed again following that school year. As a result of a significant drop in student enrollment, the school closed in June 2014.

St. Rita of Cascia High School is an all-boys Catholic high school located in the Ashburn neighborhood on Chicago's Southwest Side., United States. It is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, is operated by the Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel, a Catholic jurisdiction of the Order of Saint Augustine, and is a member of the Augustinian Secondary Education Association. The school is named for Rita of Cascia (1381–1457), an Italian Augustinian nun and Roman Catholic saint.

As of 2018, Ashburn is the 161st busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 229 weekday boardings. There is an unstaffed shelter. There are no connecting bus services. The station is just west of an at-grade crossing with the Grand Trunk Railway (now owned by Canadian National through the Grand Trunk Corporation). As of January 16, 2023, Ashburn is served by 27 trains (14 inbound, 13 outbound) on weekdays. Saturday service is currently suspended.

Quigley Preparatory Seminary South was a United States high school administered by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago from 1961 through 1990. Quigley South was located at 7740 South Western Avenue on the South Side of Chicago. Quigley North and Quigley South were both named to honor James Edward Quigley, Archbishop of Chicago from 1903 to 1915.
