WGRB (1390 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Chicago. It is owned by iHeartMedia and it airs an urban gospel format. On Sundays, the station broadcasts the services of several African-American churches in the area. The studios are at the Illinois Center complex on Michigan Avenue in Downtown Chicago. WGRB transmits 5,000 watts, using a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is off South Kedzie Avenue near West 87th Street in the city's southwest side.

WRLL (1690 AM) was an oldies radio station licensed to Berwyn, Illinois, USA, serving the Chicago market. It was owned and operated by Clear Channel Communications. The station's transmitter was located in Chicago's Ashburn neighborhood, near the Evergreen Park, Illinois border, and operated as a diplexed operation from one of the towers of its sister station, WGCI (now WGRB). The station ran 10,000 watts during the day, and 1,000 watts at night, using a non-directional antenna.

WVON (1690 AM "The Voice of the Nation", originally "Voice of the Negro") is a radio station serving the Chicago market, which airs an African-American-oriented talk format. WVON is operated by Midway Broadcasting Corporation via a local marketing agreement with frequency owner iHeartMedia. WVON's predecessor station began catering to an African-American audience in the 1940s. In 1963 Chess Records bought the station and debuted WVON, with its programming of soul, and rhythm and blues music becoming very popular throughout the 1960s. The station's news and commentary also played an active role during the Civil Rights Movement during this era. Its present African-American-oriented talk format began in 1986. The station served as a springboard for Barack Obama during the early days of his political career. Licensed to Berwyn, Illinois, WVON has studios in the South Loop, and its transmitter is located at 87th and Kedzie in Chicago's Ashburn community.

The station is 11.5 miles (18.5 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the northern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Wrightwood is in zone C. As of 2018, Wrightwood is the 154th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 261 weekday boardings. There is an unstaffed shelter and across from the station is Norfolk Southern's Landers Yard. As of January 16, 2023, Wrightwood is served by 27 trains (14 inbound, 13 outbound) on weekdays. Saturday service is currently suspended.

The station is 12.2 miles (19.6 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the northern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Ashburn is in zone C. As of 2018, Ashburn is the 161st busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 229 weekday boardings. There is an unstaffed shelter. There are no connecting bus services. The station is just west of an at-grade crossing with the Grand Trunk Railway (now owned by Canadian National through the Grand Trunk Corporation). As of January 16, 2023, Ashburn is served by 27 trains (14 inbound, 13 outbound) on weekdays. Saturday service is currently suspended.

The 1937 Women's Western Open was a golf competition held at Beverly Country Club, the 8th edition of the event. Helen Hicks won the championship in match play competition by defeating Bea Barrett in the final match, 6 and 5.

The Beverly Country Club, located in the American city of Chicago, Illinois, is one of Chicago's historical cornerstones. The club was founded in 1908 and initially designed by George O'Neil, also the club's first professional golfer. Shortly after, well-known golf course architect Tom Bendelow helped fortify the layout. In 1918, the legendary architect Donald Ross created and executed a master plan to renovate the course. In 1919, Eddie Loos was serving as the head professional and paired with Jim Barnes to win a memorable match played against Jock Hutchison and Bob MacDonald.Since, the Beverly Country Club has been a mainstay in American golfing circles. In 2002, the members of the Beverly Country Club adopted a plan to completely restore and rejuvenate the golf course. Under guidance of golf course architect and restorer Ron Prichard, the course has recaptured the design concepts which Ross himself included in his original work at the Beverly Country Club.
