Jackie Jones Mountain is a 1,253-foot-tall (382 m) mountain in the state of New York. It is located west of Stony Point in Rockland County. In 1928, a 60-foot-tall (18 m) steel fire lookout tower was built on the mountain. The tower ceased fire lookout operations at the end of the 1988 fire lookout season, and was officially closed in early 1989. The tower is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register, and is open to the public.

Letchworth Village was a residential institution located in Rockland County, New York, in the hamlet of Thiells built for the physically and mentally disabled of all ages, from the newborn to the elderly. Opened in 1911, Letchworth Village at its peak consisted of over 130 buildings spread out over many acres of land. It was named for William Pryor Letchworth, who espoused reform in the treatment and care of the insane, epileptics, and poor children. Reports of inadequate funding and improper care of the residents, including children, were present dating back to the 1920s. Accounts surfaced of residents being found unclothed, unbathed, and neglected. In addition to rampant abuse among the institution's residents, staff also suffered abuse at the hands of co-workers, which included incidents of rape. The institution gained national attention in 1972 from an exposé by Geraldo Rivera. In 1996 the institution was permanently closed down, and many of its abandoned structures have since fallen into serious disrepair.

Sandyfield was a settlement of about 30 houses in the Town of Ramapo in Rockland County, New York, United States, that was submerged in 1928 when swampy Beaver Pond was dammed to create Lake Welch in Harriman State Park.

Stony Point District School No. 4, also known as the Pyngyp School, is a historic one-room school building located near Stony Point in Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1915, and is a one-story, rectangular wood-frame building with modest Gothic style detailing. It has a steeply pitched gable roof topped by belfry and two entry doors. A rear frame addition was constructed in the 1970s. The school closed in 1945, after which it was used as a community center.: 3, 6 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Mount Ivy is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Haverstraw, in Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of New City, east of Pomona, south of Thiells, and west of Garnerville. The population was 6,878 at the 2010 census.

North Rockland High School (NRHS) is public, co-educational high school located in Thiells, New York, serving 9th to 12th grade students from the northern section of Rockland County, in southern New York. The building was formerly used as an education center for the nearby Letchworth Village mental institution. In the 1970s it transitioned to a high school for the public following an expansion of the Willowbrook State School in Staten Island, New York. Today, it is the only high school in the North Rockland Central School District. In 2018, U.S. News & World Report recognized North Rockland High School in its annual national rankings and earned a bronze medal based on their performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college.During the COVID-19 global pandemic, NRHS was one of the first school districts in the Hudson Valley area to launch an experimental hybrid learning program.

Pomona is a village partly in the town of Ramapo and partly in the town of Haverstraw in Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of New Hempstead, east of Harriman State Park, north of Monsey and west of Mount Ivy. According to the 2020 Census, the population was 3,824, a 23 percent increase from the 2010 figure of 3,103.

The Seaman–Knapp House is a historic home located at Pomona, New York. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, five bay, frame dwelling, with Greek Revival finishes. The original section of the main block dates to about 1799, that was subsequently enlarged in the mid-19th century to its present form. A rear addition was added in the early-20th century, prior to a renovation in 1937. Also on the property is a small Seaman family burying ground and a stone-lined well with gabled hood. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Ladentown is a hamlet in the Town of Haverstraw, Rockland County, New York, United States, is located in the center of a triangle between Haverstraw, Pomona and Suffern and two miles west of Mount Ivy. It is located north-northwest of New York City.

Ladentown United Methodist Church is a historic United Methodist church on Ladentown Road in the Village of Pomona, Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1865 and is a rectangular one story, traditional timber-frame structure above a raised basement. It features a steeply pitched gable roof and an engaged central tower.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

WRKL (910 AM Radio Abundancia Divina), is a radio station licensed to New City, New York, broadcasting a Spanish language Christian radio format. By day, WRKL is powered at 1,000 watts, at night it reduces power to 800 watts, to protect other stations on 910 AM from interference.
