Pomona is a village partly in the town of Ramapo and partly in the town of Haverstraw in Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of New Hempstead, east of Harriman State Park, north of Monsey and west of Mount Ivy. According to the 2020 Census, the population was 3,824, a 23 percent increase from the 2010 figure of 3,103.

Clover Stadium is a baseball park in Pomona, New York. It is the home field of the New York Boulders of the independent Frontier League. It has a seating capacity of 6,362 and it opened on June 16, 2011. The stadium is also home to the St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team (NCAA Division II), who began playing all their home games at the venue in the spring of 2012. The Spartans are the 2014 and 2017 NCAA East Region Champions. The stadium is also home to the Manhattan Jaspers men’s baseball team since 2023. In 2012, the project to design and build the stadium received the Ward House Award from the Lower Hudson Valley Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Originally named Provident Bank Park, naming rights were sold to Palisades Federal Credit Union in April 2016 and to Fiserv in January 2022 who renamed it Clover Stadium for the company's Clover point-of-sale-platform.

Mount Ivy is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Haverstraw, in Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of New City, east of Pomona, south of Thiells, and west of Garnerville. The population was 6,878 at the 2010 census.

Ladentown United Methodist Church is a historic United Methodist church on Ladentown Road in the Village of Pomona, Rockland County, New York. It was built about 1865 and is a rectangular one story, traditional timber-frame structure above a raised basement. It features a steeply pitched gable roof and an engaged central tower.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Ladentown is a hamlet in the Town of Haverstraw, Rockland County, New York, United States, is located in the center of a triangle between Haverstraw, Pomona and Suffern and two miles west of Mount Ivy. It is located north-northwest of New York City.

Contempora House is a historic home located at New City in Rockland County, New York. It is a Streamline Moderne style dwelling built in 1934–1935. The property consists of the main house with detached studio. The buildings are constructed of concrete and cinderblock with steel and wood framing and a stucco exterior. It was designed by architect and planner Paul Lester Wiener (1895–1967).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

The Henry Varnum Poor House, also known as the "Crow House", is a historic home located on South Mountain Road at New City in Rockland County, New York. It was built between about 1920 and 1949 by artist Henry Varnum Poor (1887–1970). It combines elements of rustic Arts and Crafts movement vernacular with elements of the modern movement. Also on the property are a studio dated to 1957; a small half-timbered mill building, 1921; woodshop, circa 1920–1930; an outdoor kiln from 1957; bridge, circa 1950; and a terraced garden, 1926.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. About the same time the town of Ramapo purchased the house for $1.3 million with help of a $496,000 grant from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. There were also plans for contribution of furnishings and art from family heir Peter Varnum Poor, but collections and restoration efforts made little progress through 2015.

New Hempstead is a village in the town of Ramapo, Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of New Square, east of Wesley Hills, south of Pomona, and west of New City. The population was 5,132 at the 2010 census. Residents utilize the Spring Valley and New City post offices.

The recorded history of Rockland County, New York begins on February 23, 1798, when the county was split off from Orange County, New York and formed as its own administrative division of the state of New York. It is located 6 miles (9.7 km) north-northwest of New York City, and is part of the New York Metropolitan Area. The county seat is the hamlet of New City. The name comes from rocky land, an early description of the area given by settlers. Rockland is New York's southernmost county west of the Hudson River. It is suburban in nature, with a considerable amount of scenic designated parkland. Rockland County does not border any of the New York City boroughs, but is only 9.5 miles (15.3 km) north of Manhattan at the counties' (New York and Rockland) two respective closest points (Palisades, New York, in Rockland and Inwood Park in Manhattan) Most of the early settlers were Dutch, with a sprinkling of Huguenot and Quaker families. The settlers lived almost entirely off the land, farming – berries, fruits and vegetables, as well as hunting, fishing, and trapping. Early attempts to settle the county by the Dutch were generally unsuccessful, and in 1664 they handed over the territory to the English. Yet the Dutch did leave a legacy in place names like Dunderberg Mountain, Sparkill and High Tor, as well as a small collection of unique sandstone houses like the 1700 DeWint House, built in Tappan and still exists, which later served as George Washington’s headquarters. During the American Revolutionary War, Rockland County was a strategic crossroads, camping ground and vital link between the northern and southern colonies. Troops often used Kings Ferry at Stony Point and Dobbs Ferry at Snedens Landing in Palisades. The first post office in Rockland County was established at New Antrim, now Suffern, on October 4, 1797. By 1800, the total population of the newly created County of Rockland was nearly 6,400. The land was cleared, homes, schools and churches were built and sawmills and gristmills erected along the numerous creeks. By 1828, Native Americans had virtually disappeared from the county and slavery existed in a diminished form.

It comprises five towns and nineteen incorporated villages, with numerous unincorporated villages (sixteen) and hamlets. Rockland County is designated as a Preserve America Community, and nearly a third of the county's area is parkland. The county has the largest Jewish population percentage of any U.S. county, at 31.4%, or 90,000 residents. Rockland also ranked 31st on the list of highest-income counties by median household income in the United States, with a median household income of $82,534 according to the 2010 census.

Wesley Hills is a village in the town of Ramapo, Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of Viola, east of Harriman State Park, south of Pomona, and west of New Hempstead. The population was 5,628 at the 2010 census.Joseph Berger of The New York Times said in a 1997 article that Wesley Hills was one of several Ramapo villages formed by non-Jews and secular Jews "to preserve the sparse Better Homes and Garden [sic] ambiance that attracted them to Rockland County."Mayor Marshall Katz was appointed by the village board after Mayor David Goldsmith resigned in August, 2014 citing "increased responsibilities at my day job and some health issues." After finishing the remainder of the term, Mayor Katz ran unopposed in March 2015.

Yeshiva Zichron Yaakov (ישיבה זכרון יעקב) was an all-male Jewish Orthodox high school located in New Hempstead, New York which operated under the direction and leadership of Rabbi Eliyahu Maza and, for several years, Secular Studies Principle Rabbi Benyamin Plotzker. It closed in 2013.
