The Academy of Film, Art and Design (Polish: Wyższa Szkoła Sztuki i Projektowania) is a private arts university in Łódź, Poland. The current rector is prof. Piotr Cieciura. The Academy of Film, Art and Design in Lodz (AFAD) - a non-state higher education institution in Lodz. The Academy of Film, Art and Design in Lodz was established in April 1998 (by decision of the Minister of National Education, reg. number 139). From 1999 to 2004 the college was located at 163/165 Pomorska Street in Lodz. Since 2001 it has been offering courses at bachelor's and master's levels. In April 2004, the university moved its headquarters to the Karol Scheibler's 19th century Commercial Center. The Academy of Film, Art and Design provides bachelor's (BA) and masters (MA) degrees, as well as unified 5 year masters degrees (for Filmmaking and Photography). It is one of three higher education film schools in Poland issuing a graduation diploma with a Master of Arts degree. The school's building houses a cinema hall named after Henryk Kluba, long-time rector of the Lodz Film School and lecturer at the Film and Photography Department of AFAD. The Leon Schiller Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź (Polish: Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa, Telewizyjna i Teatralna im. Leona Schillera w Łodzi), commonly known as Łódź Film School (Polish: Szkoła Filmowa w Łodzi) is a Polish academy for future actors, directors, photographers, camera operators and television staff. It was founded on 8 March 1948 in Łódź (Lodz).

The company was founded in 1991 in Kyiv, Ukraine by Oleksiy Sihov and Andriy Anisimov. In 2007, Infopulse became a part of the Norwegian information technology company EDB Business Partner ASA. After a 2010 merger of EDB with a Nordic corporation ErgoGroup, Infopulse became a subsidiary of the newly formed information technology company EDB ErgoGroup ASA, which later was renamed to EVRY. Alexis de Tocqueville Center for Political and Legal Thought, founded in 2007, is a research thematic unit within the Faculty of Law and Administration, at the University of Łódź, Poland. The Chairman of the Center is renowned Locke scholar, Zbigniew Rau. Members of the Center's Board are leading personalities of Polish politics and science. The Center recalls the intellectual and conceptual heritage of Alexis de Tocqueville, the author of Democracy in America. This heritage includes the traditions which dominate in contemporary political discourse; it combines conservatism and liberalism with the Christian vision of Western identity and the republican ethos of civic participation. It derives its political, institutional, and legal conceptions from the analyses of particular social relations and avoids constructing any abstract, a priori models of public life. It perceives the fundamental values of our time, such as liberty, equality, democracy, the rule of law, efficient public policy, civil society, and self-government as remaining far from any harmony and coherence. In fact, this heritage leaves much room for axiological skepticism, inspires a movement of ideas, and requires cognitive objectivism. In its activities, the Center considers this heritage crucial for any civic commitment as well as research endeavor.

The National Centre for Film Culture (Narodowe Centrum Kultury Filmowejis, or NCKF) a cultural institution in Łódź, Poland, co-run by the City of Łódź and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. NCKF is a cultural institution, museum, archive, conference centre and cinema at the same time. The mission of NCKF is to disseminate knowledge about film and to educate in the field of film and audiovisual culture. The permanent exhibition of the centre is the largest exhibition in Poland on national cinematography and presents 120 years of the history of Polish film.

The University of Łódź (Polish: Uniwersytet Łódzki, Latin: Universitas Lodziensis) is a public research university founded in 1945 in Łódź, Poland, as a continuation of three higher education institutions functioning in Łódź in the interwar period — the Teacher Training Institute (1921–1928), the Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (1924–1928) and the local division of the Free Polish University of Warsaw (1928–1939). The University of Łódź (alternative spelling: University of Lodz) is a fully accredited, state-owned, traditional university. It is one of 18 institutions of its type in Poland.It has more than 25,000 students and 2,600 teachers. Its international cooperation includes 385 partner institutions from all over the world. A range of BA, MA, and postgraduate courses held in English as a language of instruction are offered to Polish and overseas students.

The School of Polish for Foreigners (SoPfF/SJPdC) is an educational institution and part of University of Łódź. Its main purpose is to prepare foreign students to study at Polish universities. The School of Polish for Foreigners was established in 1952 in Łódź. At first it was focused only on enabling people from other countries to study at Polish Universities, but since the early 1990s it is being transformed into both an academic and educational facility. The SoPfF in Łódź is the oldest institution of this kind in Poland and for over thirty years it was the only such school in the country. It has educated people from over 80 countries in the world. Every year about 300 students graduate from SoPfF. During all the years of the school's activity, its employees have managed to create unique workbooks for foreigners willing to learn Polish language. They have also prepared, with a considerable help of the students themselves, different multilanguage vocabularies - an invaluable help for anyone teaching and learning Polish language. The workbooks produced in the school became a base for syllabi created at other such facilities in the country. The school prepares foreign students to undertake studies at many different fields of interest. Students take technical, medical, and economics courses, among others.

Faculty of International and Political Studies at the University of Łódź was established on 1 September 2000. The Faculty has the first research category. In the Polish context it implies the highest quality of conducted research which is both interdisciplinary and internationalized. It is interdisciplinary because it combines various disciplines in the field of international and political studies. Additionally, studies at the Faculty of International and Political Studies combine scientific achievements of the humanities, social and economic sciences, including marketing and management, and political science. International cultural studies, focussing on diverse geographical areas and selected cultural problems of international significance, are also of high importance.

Łódź Fabryczna (Polish pronunciation: [faˈbrɨt͡ʂna]) is the largest and most modern railway station in the city of Łódź, Poland. It was originally constructed at the initiative of industrialist Karl Wilhelm Scheibler in 1865. In the old Polish classification of stations it was placed under the B category. The station is located in the centre of Łódź. Trains depart frequently via Koluszki to Warszawa Wschodnia, Kraków, Częstochowa, and Tomaszów Mazowiecki. It was closed on 16 October 2011 as a part of a major redevelopment project to build a new railway station and transport interchange and reopened on 11 December 2016.

The Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź was established on 1 September 1994. It was formerly a part of the Faculty of Economics and Sociology but later on six departments which focused on management issues devolved from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology to form the Faculty of Management. The Faculty of Management is rooted in academic activity of the Faculty of Law and Economics and the University of Economics which were included to the structure of the University of Łódź in 1961. The Faculty of Management specializes in academic education as well as conducting research in the field of management in cooperation with international partners and according to best regional and international practice.

Teatr Wielki w Łodzi (The Grand Theater in Łódź) is an opera house in Łódź, Poland. It is the largest theatre in the city, specialising in opera, operetta and ballet.
