The Leon Schiller Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź (Polish: Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa, Telewizyjna i Teatralna im. Leona Schillera w Łodzi), commonly known as Łódź Film School (Polish: Szkoła Filmowa w Łodzi) is a Polish academy for future actors, directors, photographers, camera operators and television staff. It was founded on 8 March 1948 in Łódź (Lodz).

It is now known as Tietoevry, following the merger of EVRY and Finnish IT company Tieto in 2019.Infopulse specializes in application management and IT infrastructure management, software research and development, software maintenance and ITO. Księży Młyn (English: Priest's Mill, Polish pronunciation: [ksiɛ̃ʐɨ mwɨn]) is an area in the southern central part of the city of Łódź located in central Poland which consists of a group of textile factories (mainly cotton spinning mills) and associated facilities, built in Łódź since 1824. Since the first decade of the 21st century the area undergoes major renovation and contains mixed-use development of offices and housing.

The National Centre for Film Culture (Narodowe Centrum Kultury Filmowejis, or NCKF) a cultural institution in Łódź, Poland, co-run by the City of Łódź and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. NCKF is a cultural institution, museum, archive, conference centre and cinema at the same time. The mission of NCKF is to disseminate knowledge about film and to educate in the field of film and audiovisual culture. The permanent exhibition of the centre is the largest exhibition in Poland on national cinematography and presents 120 years of the history of Polish film.

Łódź Fabryczna (Polish pronunciation: [faˈbrɨt͡ʂna]) is the largest and most modern railway station in the city of Łódź, Poland. It was originally constructed at the initiative of industrialist Karl Wilhelm Scheibler in 1865. In the old Polish classification of stations it was placed under the B category. The station is located in the centre of Łódź. Trains depart frequently via Koluszki to Warszawa Wschodnia, Kraków, Częstochowa, and Tomaszów Mazowiecki. It was closed on 16 October 2011 as a part of a major redevelopment project to build a new railway station and transport interchange and reopened on 11 December 2016.

Alexis de Tocqueville Center for Political and Legal Thought, founded in 2007, is a research thematic unit within the Faculty of Law and Administration, at the University of Łódź, Poland. The Chairman of the Center is renowned Locke scholar, Zbigniew Rau. Members of the Center's Board are leading personalities of Polish politics and science. The Center recalls the intellectual and conceptual heritage of Alexis de Tocqueville, the author of Democracy in America. This heritage includes the traditions which dominate in contemporary political discourse; it combines conservatism and liberalism with the Christian vision of Western identity and the republican ethos of civic participation. It derives its political, institutional, and legal conceptions from the analyses of particular social relations and avoids constructing any abstract, a priori models of public life. It perceives the fundamental values of our time, such as liberty, equality, democracy, the rule of law, efficient public policy, civil society, and self-government as remaining far from any harmony and coherence. In fact, this heritage leaves much room for axiological skepticism, inspires a movement of ideas, and requires cognitive objectivism. In its activities, the Center considers this heritage crucial for any civic commitment as well as research endeavor.

Faculty of International and Political Studies at the University of Łódź was established on 1 September 2000. The Faculty has the first research category. In the Polish context it implies the highest quality of conducted research which is both interdisciplinary and internationalized. It is interdisciplinary because it combines various disciplines in the field of international and political studies. Additionally, studies at the Faculty of International and Political Studies combine scientific achievements of the humanities, social and economic sciences, including marketing and management, and political science. International cultural studies, focussing on diverse geographical areas and selected cultural problems of international significance, are also of high importance.

The White Factory (Polish: Biała Fabryka) is the classicist building in Łódź, Poland, constructed in 1835–1839 to host a textile factory which belonged to Ludwik Geyer. It currently hosts the Central Museum of Textiles and Folk Dance Ensemble "HARNAM". It is considered a fine example of early industrial architecture in Łódź. The building is located at the southern end of Piotrkowska Street, south of the city center. In the first half of the 19th century Łódź, which was a part of the Congress Poland and previously a small town, experienced a rapid economic and industrial development. The city was open for migrants, and Geyer, a German originally from Saxony, moved to the city to start textile production. The building was reconstructed several times after the 1830s but still retains its original plan. In 1955, the decision was taken to host the Central Museum of Textiles in the building, and in 1958 the reconstruction works which made the building usable as a museum started. The museum was established as an independent institution in 1960. Simultaneously, the building was still exploited as a factory until 1990, when the production in the eastern wing stopped. The wing was transferred to the museum in the 2002, completing the transfer of the whole complex.White Factory is a four-wing building with a courtyard. The oldest wing is the western one, facing Piotrkowska Street. The northern wing is from 1838, the southern one is from 1847, and the eastern wing was built in 1886. In the courtyard, the Old Boiler House is constructed. The complex has a high chimney, two dust towers, and two water towers, which is an unusual solution for the first half of the 19th century. South of the building, a pond is made. Next to the White Factory, still on industrial grounds, the Open Air Museum of Łódź Timber Architecture was opened in 2009.The building was classified as a cultural heritage monument.

The University of Łódź (Polish: Uniwersytet Łódzki, Latin: Universitas Lodziensis) is a public research university founded in 1945 in Łódź, Poland, as a continuation of three higher education institutions functioning in Łódź in the interwar period — the Teacher Training Institute (1921–1928), the Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (1924–1928) and the local division of the Free Polish University of Warsaw (1928–1939). The University of Łódź (alternative spelling: University of Lodz) is a fully accredited, state-owned, traditional university. It is one of 18 institutions of its type in Poland.It has more than 25,000 students and 2,600 teachers. Its international cooperation includes 385 partner institutions from all over the world. A range of BA, MA, and postgraduate courses held in English as a language of instruction are offered to Polish and overseas students.

The School of Polish for Foreigners (SoPfF/SJPdC) is an educational institution and part of University of Łódź. Its main purpose is to prepare foreign students to study at Polish universities. The School of Polish for Foreigners was established in 1952 in Łódź. At first it was focused only on enabling people from other countries to study at Polish Universities, but since the early 1990s it is being transformed into both an academic and educational facility. The SoPfF in Łódź is the oldest institution of this kind in Poland and for over thirty years it was the only such school in the country. It has educated people from over 80 countries in the world. Every year about 300 students graduate from SoPfF. During all the years of the school's activity, its employees have managed to create unique workbooks for foreigners willing to learn Polish language. They have also prepared, with a considerable help of the students themselves, different multilanguage vocabularies - an invaluable help for anyone teaching and learning Polish language. The workbooks produced in the school became a base for syllabi created at other such facilities in the country. The school prepares foreign students to undertake studies at many different fields of interest. Students take technical, medical, and economics courses, among others.

The Archdiocese of Łódź (Latin: Lodzien(sis)) is an archdiocese located in the city of Łódź in Poland. The archdiocese covers the central area of Łódź Voivodeship. As of 2016 weekly mass attendance was 23.4% of the archdiocese's Catholic population, making it the second least devout diocese in Poland after the Archdiocese of Szczecin-Kamień (22.7%).
