Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media) (HMTMH) is an artistic-scientific university in Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany. It dates back to 1897. From 1962 until 2010 it was named Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover (University of Music and Drama Hanover), short: Musikhochschule Hannover. Since 2010, the president has been Susanne Rode-Breymann. As of 2013, the university has approximately 1,443 students, taught by 361 teachers in 33 courses for musicians, actors, music teachers, musicologists and media scholars.

Warmbüchenviertel is an area in the quarter and borough of Mitte in Hanover. The quarter is characterised by insurance companies and other office buildings, but is also an inner city residential area. The name derives from two major streets: Warmbüchenstraße und Warmbüchenkamp.

Hannover-Zoo (also called Zooviertel, rarely called Hindenburgviertel) is a quarter of the city of Hanover. Located within the quarter is the eponymous Hanover Zoo, also known as the Hanover Zoological Gardens. Part of the borough Hanover-Mitte, it has 4,952 inhabitants (2020).The quarter is home to the Hanover Congress Center, whose complex contains the historic Stadthalle Hannover, as well as the Stadtpark Hannover, the city park of Hanover built on the grounds of the first Bundesgartenschau of 1951. The entire northern part of the Eilenriede belongs to the district. As such, the Lister Tower is also located in the Zoo district and not in the List district. The Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover is headquartered at the Neues Haus plaza in the quarter. There are two high schools in the district, the Sophienschule and the Kaiser Wilhelm and Ratsgymnasium. On Gellertstraße street is the Neo-Romanesque church of St. Elisabeth. The former Jewish Hospital Hannover was also located in the district. The later Reich President Paul von Hindenburg lived in the Zoo district from 1919 to 1925, from which the name Hindenburgviertel was derived. The city of Hanover had appointed Hindenburg as honorary citizen and gave him a villa. The Hindenburgvilla is now the seat of the Fritz Behrens Foundation.The zoo district is considered a desirable residential area containing upscale historic buildings with significantly above-average rents and real estate prices.

The Schauspiel Hannover (Hanover Drama) is part of the theatre organisation of the German state of Lower Saxony in its capital, Hanover, the Niedersächsische Staatstheater Hannover (Lower Saxony State Theatres). The other part is the Staatsoper Hannover. Schauspiel offers theatre, entertainment and music on five stages, the Schauspielhaus (Play house), the Cumberlandsche Bühne (Cumberland stage), the Cumberlandsche Galerie (Cumberland gallery), and the historic buildings in Old Town, Ballhof Eins and Ballhof Zwei.

The Open Grave (German: Geöffnetes Grab, literally Opened Grave) or Burst Grave (Gesprengtes Grab) is a tomb in Hanover in the Gartenfriedhof in the Warmbüchenviertel, near the Aegidientorplatz square. and one of the landmarks of the city of Hanover.

The Gartenfriedhof or Garden Cemetery is a cemetery in Hanover, created in 1741 and located by the Gartenkirche (built 1749). The cemetery and the church are both named after the garden parish outside the city walls in front of Aegidien gate. The cemetery, which contains a number of classicising grave markers from the first half of the nineteenth century, was closed in 1864 with the establishment of the Stadtfriedhof Engesohde. Today it forms a park in the middle of inner city Hanover. The graves of Charlotte Buff (inspiration of Goethe's "Lotte" in The Sorrows of Young Werther), the astronomer Caroline Herschel and the painter Johann Heinrich Ramberg are located here. The Gartenfriedhof lies on Marienstraße between Warmbüchenstraße and Arnswaldtstraße.

Hannover Hauptbahnhof (German for Hanover main station) is the main railway station for the city of Hanover in Lower Saxony, Germany. The railway junction is one of the 21 stations listed as a railway Category 1 station by DB Station&Service. It is also the most important public transport hub of the region of Hanover and it is served regional and S-Bahn services. The station has six platforms with twelve platform tracks, and two through tracks without platforms. Every day it is used by 250,000 passengers and 622 trains stop at the platforms (as of October 2012). About 2,000 people work here.

The Stadtarchiv Hannover is the municipal archive of the German city of Hannover, the capital of Lower Saxony. Originating before 1300 and still with strong medieval holdings, it holds the collected documents produced by the mayor, the city council and administration. Its earliest surviving document dates to 1241, and the only pre-modern gap in its records results from the Knochenhauer-Amtshaus-fire of 1428. The catalogue was stored offsite during World War II and survived, although building registry documents were destroyed by bombing in 1943. A flash flood in 1946 also destroyed 19th-century documents.

Staatsoper Hannover is a German opera house and company in Hanover, the state capital of Lower Saxony. It is part of the Niedersächsisches Staatstheater Hannover (often referred to as simply Staatstheater Hannover), which puts on operas, stage productions, and concert programs. It consists of the divisions Schauspiel Hannover, Staatsballett Hannover, Staatsorchester Hannover and Theatermuseum Hannover. Its season runs from September to June.

The Deutsche Hypothekenbank (Actien-Gesellschaft) is a Mortgage bank based in Hanover, which specializes in the financing of commercial real estate and the capital market business with domestic and foreign clients. It is a company of NORD/LB and forms the center of excellence for the core business area Commercial Real Estate Financing. The bank employs around 400 people at its five domestic locations in Hanover, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich as well as its foreign locations in Amsterdam, London, Paris, Madrid and Warsaw. With a balance sheet total of almost €23.7 billion, the Deutsche Hypo is one of Germany's largest real estate financiers.

Aegidientorplatz is a Hannover Stadtbahn station on lines B and C. The station is located beneath Aegidientorplatz, one the squares in Hanover Mitte. Aegidientorplatz is the only station where passengers can change from B lines to C lines on the same platform.

The Aegidientorplatz, colloquially known as Aegi is a busy square in Hanover located above the U-bahn station of the same name. The square was named for the Aegidientor, one of the city gates of Medieval Hanover, which existed until 1780.
