Nonthaburi (Thai: นนทบุรี, pronounced [nōn.tʰá(ʔ).bū.rīː]) is the principal city of the district and province of the same name in Thailand. On 15 February 1936, Nonthaburi town municipality (thesaban mueang) was established, which only covered Suan Yai subdistrict (tambon), just 2.5 km2 (0.97 sq mi). On 25 September 1995, Nonthaburi was upgraded to city municipality (thesaban nakhon) by enlargement of the city with four more subdistricts, Talat Khwan (8.2 km2 [3.2 sq mi]), Bang Khen (9.0 km2 [3.5 sq mi]), Bang Kraso (11.2 km2 [4.3 sq mi]) and Tha Sai (8.0 km2 [3.1 sq mi]), covering a total of 38.9 km2 (15.0 sq mi). As of 31 December 2019, it has a registered population of 254,375, making it the most populous city municipality in Thailand (excluding Bangkok). There are 93 communities (chumchon), although not directly chosen by the local citizens, which provides advice and recommendations to local administrative organizations. Due to its proximity to Bangkok, the city is considered a suburb of Bangkok, a part of the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, or Greater Bangkok. Nonthaburi is served by public transport systems including the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority bus system, the Chao Phraya Express Boat, and the MRT Purple Line, inaugurated in 2016. Nonthaburi is known for its temple and market such as Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat, Wat Chomphuwek, Wat Chotikaram, Wat Khema Phirataram, Wat Prasat, Wat Sangkhathan and so on.

Khae Rai (Thai: แคราย, pronounced [kʰɛ̄ː rāːj]) is the name of a major road intersection and its surrounding neighborhood in downtown Nonthaburi, a northern suburb city of Bangkok and the administrative seat of Nonthaburi province. Formed by the crossing of Ngam Wong Wan/Rattanathibet and Tiwanon roads, it lies within Bang Kraso subdistrict of Mueang Nonthaburi district, and is home to government offices of both the city and the province as well as commercial and residential developments. It serves as a mass transit interchange between the MRT Purple Line and Pink Line, as well as the planned Brown Line.

Praboromarajchanok Institute (Thai: สถาบันพระบรมราชชนก) is a public higher education institute for production of public health workforce under the Ministry of Public Health in Thailand. It named after the father of modern medicine and public health in Thailand, Prince Mahidol of Songkhla. The institute was initially established in 1993 by Royal Decree as the "Institute for Health Workforce Development" (Thai: สถาบันพัฒนากำลังคนด้านสาธารณสุข) under the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Health which later renamed it as "Praboromarajchanok Institute" in 1995. The institute aims to produce and develop a workforce to serve the shortage of healthcare personnel of the Ministry of Public Health, educate and promote academic and profession, teach, research, provide social services, as well as to support religion, arts, culture, environment, and sports. In order to increase efficiency, the parliament enacted the Praboromarajchanok Institute Act B.E. 2562, giving it official higher educational institute status and more freedom in its administration.

Khae Rai station (Thai: สถานีแคราย) is a Bangkok MRT station on the Pink Line. The station is located on Tiwanon Road in Mueang Nonthaburi district, Nonthaburi province. The station has four exits. It opened on 21 November 2023 as part of trial operations on the entire Pink Line.

Srithanya Hospital (Thai: โรงพยาบาลศรีธัญญา) is the largest psychiatric hospital in Thailand, located in Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi Province. It is adjacent to the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Health and is operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH). It is served by Ministry of Public Health MRT station, located in front of the hospital.

Nonthaburi Civic Center station (Thai: สถานีศูนย์ราชการนนทบุรี, RTGS: Sathani Sun Ratchakan Nonthaburi) is a Bangkok MRT station on the Purple Line and Pink Line. The station is located on the Rattanathibet road in Nonthaburi Province. The station opened on 6 August 2016 on the Purple Line, while the Pink Line opened on 21 November 2023. The station is above the Rattanathibet road not far from Khae Rai intersection. To the north, the station serves commuters from the Mueang Nonthaburi District Office. To the south, it serves the Samakkhi residential area, Boss Hotel, Provincial Police station, the National Disaster Warning Center and the Thaicom satellite station. To the east, it provides access to the Esplanade shopping and cinema complex Rattanathibet Road branch and the nearby Tesco Lotus hypermarket.

Nonthaburi (Thai: นนทบุรี, pronounced [nōn.tʰá(ʔ).bū.rīː]) is one of the central provinces (changwat) of Thailand, established by the Act Establishing Changwat Samut Prakan, Changwat Nonthaburi, Changwat Samut Sakhon and Changwat Nakhon Nayok, Buddhist Era 2489 (1946), which came into force on 9 May 1946 (Thursday).Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Bangkok, and Nakhon Pathom. Nonthaburi is the most densely populated province after Bangkok. The Bang Kwang Central Prison is in the province.

Mueang Nonthaburi (Thai: เมืองนนทบุรี, RTGS: Mueang Nonthaburi, pronounced [mɯ̄aŋ nōn.tʰá(ʔ).bū.rīː]) is the capital district (amphoe mueang) of Nonthaburi province in Thailand. The city of Nonthaburi has 267,001 inhabitants, while the whole district has 348,553.

Talat Khwan (Thai: ตลาดขวัญ, pronounced [tā.làːt kʰwǎn]) is a tambon (subdistrict) of Doi Saket district, in Chiang Mai province, Thailand. In 2005 it had a population of 3,418 people. The tambon contains six villages.

Yaek Tiwanon station (Thai: สถานีแยกติวานนท์) is a Bangkok MRT station on the Purple Line. The station opened on 6 August 2016 and is located on Bangkok-Nonthaburi road, near its intersection with Tiwanon Road in Nonthaburi Province. The station has four entrances.

Talat Khwan (Thai: ตลาดขวัญ, pronounced [tā.làːt kʰwǎn]) is one of the ten subdistricts (tambon) of Mueang Nonthaburi District, in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand. The subdistrict is bounded by (clockwise from north) Bang Kraso, Bang Khen and Suan Yai subdistricts. The whole area of the subdistrict is covered by Nonthaburi City Municipality (เทศบาลนครนนทบุรี). In 2020 it had a total population of 47,695 people.
