The Tail of the Bank is the name given to the anchorage in the upper Firth of Clyde immediately North of Greenock, between Inverclyde and Argyll and Bute. This area of the Firth gets its name from the deep water immediately to the west of the sandbank which marks the entrance to the navigable channel up the Estuary of the River Clyde.

RAF Greenock was a Royal Air Force station in Greenock, Scotland from 1940 to 1945.RAF Greenock was created on 10 October 1940 as a maintenance base for RAF flying boats. Seaplanes had previously been used at the site in the 1930s. The base was hit on 7 May 1941 during the Greenock Blitz, when a hangar and storage facility were hit, and several aircraft were destroyed.The following units were here at some point: No. 2 Flying Boat Servicing Unit (September 1942 - 1945) No. 97 Maintenance Unit RAF (August - October 1945) No. 213 Maintenance Unit RAF (October 1945 - November 1947)Supermarine Stranraers, Consolidated Catalinas and Short Sunderlands were maintained at the site.It ceased to be an RAF base in 1945 but continued in civilian use until 1950.As of 2012, the RAF Club Greenock is still open.

Greenock Princes Pier was a railway station serving Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland, originally as part of the Greenock and Ayrshire Railway. It was approached by a tunnel sloping downhill under Greenock's west end, with railway sidings before the line crossed Brougham Street bridge over the main road to Gourock. The station was set on an embankment on the approach to Prince's Pier, with a line curving down to serve Albert Harbour.The area of the station, pier and the infilled Albert Harbour is now occupied by Greenock Ocean Terminal container port and cruise ship passenger terminal.

The Municipal Buildings are based on the north side of Princes Street East in Helensburgh, Scotland. The structure, which served as the meeting place of Helensburgh Burgh Council, is a Category B listed building.

The West Kirk (since 2015 called Helensburgh Parish Church) is a Church of Scotland parish church on Colquhoun Square in Helensburgh, Argyll, Scotland. Designed by James Hay, in 1853, it is designated as a Category B listed building by Historic Environment Scotland.In 2011 the church united with St Columba Church to become St Andrew's Kirk. The St Columba Church building became The Tower arts centre.In 2015 St Andrew's Kirk united with Park Church to become Helensburgh Parish Church. In 2016 the Park Church building became the Buddhist Meditation Centre of Scotland. Since December 2015 the Parish Minister is the Reverend David T. Young BA, BD Min (Hons), MTh, RNR.

Helensburgh Central railway station (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Eilidh Meadhain) serves the town of Helensburgh on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde, near Glasgow, Scotland. The station is a terminus on the North Clyde Line, sited 24 miles 31 chains (39.2 km) from Glasgow Queen Street (High Level), measured via Singer and Maryhill. Passenger services are operated by ScotRail on behalf of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport. The station is Helensburgh's main railway station, the other being the much smaller Helensburgh Upper on the West Highland Line.

James Watt College was a further education college in Greenock, Scotland. It is now part of West College Scotland. There were also campuses in Largs and Kilwinning which now form part of Ayrshire College as the result of the merger with Kilmarnock College and Ayr College.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Museum and Heritage Centre is a museum in Greenock, Inverclyde, Scotland. It is housed in a former fire station and is open to the public on one Sunday a month and on days when cruise ships are in port in Greenock. It is operated by the Scottish Fire Brigades Heritage Trust, a registered charity known from 2013 to 2022 as the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Heritage Trust.

Greenock Municipal Buildings is a municipal structure in Clyde Square, Greenock, Scotland. The municipal buildings, which are the headquarters of Inverclyde Council, are Category A listed.

Greenock Central station is one of eight railway stations serving the town of Greenock in western Scotland, and is the nearest to the town centre. This station, which is staffed, is on the Inverclyde Line, 37 km (23 mi) west of Glasgow Central towards Gourock. It has three platforms, two of which are in use, with one disused bay platform. This disused platform is still connected to the main line. It was originally the terminus before the railway was extended to Gourock and at that time was known as Greenock Cathcart station, as the access road to the station leads off the town's Cathcart Street.

Lomond School is a private, co-educational, day and boarding school in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Lomond School is, currently, the only day and boarding school on the west coast of Scotland. It was formed from a merger in 1977 between Larchfield School (founded 1845 and previously called Larchfield Academy) and St Bride's School for Girls (founded 1895).Lomond School primarily teaches to the Scottish Education System, but in pupils' senior years (S5 & S6) at the school they can move into one of the International Baccalaureate programmes. The IB programmes were introduced in August 2021.It is a member school of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference.The principal of the school is Johanna Urquhart, who took over from the previous headmaster, Simon Mills, in August 2014.
