Hoërskool Brandwag is an Afrikaans medium school in Uitenhage (Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality), South Africa, with an academic orientation. The school opened in 1937, and is named after a peak in the Drakensberg in Golden Gate Highlands National Park, called "The Sentinel" in English, which appears on the school's emblem. Its motto is "U dienswillige dienaar" (Your obedient servant), which was the title of the autobiography of Afrikaans literary figure Cornelis Jacobus Langenhoven.Athletic teams include rugby and netball.

Wattville is a township south of Benoni in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan municipality, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established in 1941, and by 1948, 400 houses were built on 34 hectares. After 1948, building stopped as it was threatened with destruction. This was because it was considered too close to a white town. However, building continued in 1951 and by 1955 about 2,000 new houses had been erected. The former ANC president Oliver Tambo lived here during the 1950s with his wife Adelaide. Mrs Tambo continued to serve the community and the local Anglican Church congregation, donating food parcels every year to the local senior citizens until she met her untimely death in 2008. She was buried next to her late husband in Wattville. A housing area was established in honour of the iconic couple, aptly named Tamboville with more than 800 families and still growing due to the influx of people into the township. In 2001,the Department of Social Development approved the establishment of a Development Centre in Wattville. The community of Wattville, who have been consulted from the initiation about the Development Centre concept, saw it fit to name the Centre "Adelaide Tambo Development Centre. "It was to honour Dr. Adelaide Tambo's direct socio-economic involvement in Wattville. The Adelaide Tambo Development Centre prides itself to: 1. have the first and only accredited Computer Training Programme in Wattville. 2. train 20 unemployed women sewing and life skills, registered 10 of them into Sewing Cooperatives. 3. have assisted the registered co-operatives to obtain sewing equipment and be beneficiaries of the annual School Uniform Project (SUP) from the Department of Health and Social Development. The Development Centre Managers were/is as follows: 1. The late Mr. Vusumuzi Mpondo (2001 to 2004) 2. Mr. David Boshielo (2001 to 2005 as Project Manager) and (2005 to 2010 as Centre Manager). 3. Mr. Brian Padi (2011 to date as Centre Manager)

The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is a metropolitan municipality that forms the local government of the East Rand region of Gauteng. The municipality itself is a large suburban region east of Johannesburg. The name Ekurhuleni means place of peace in XiTsonga. Ekurhuleni is one of the five districts of Gauteng province and one of the eight metropolitan municipalities of South Africa. The seat of Ekurhuleni is Germiston and the most spoken language is Zulu at 28.8%. The city is home to South Africa's busiest airport, OR Tambo International Airport, which is located in the Kempton Park area of Ekurhuleni.

Boksburg is a city on the East Rand (Ekhuruleni) of Gauteng province of South Africa. Gold was discovered in Boksburg in 1887. Boksburg was named after the State Secretary of the South African Republic, W. Eduard Bok. The Main Reef Road linked Boksburg to all the other major mining towns on the Witwatersrand and the Angelo Hotel (1887) was used as a staging post. Boksburg has been part of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality since 5 December 2000, which forms the local government of most of the East Rand. The Mining Commissioner Montague White built a large dam which, empty for years, was dubbed White's Folly until a flash flood in 1889 silenced detractors. The 150,000 square metre dam is now the Boksburg Lake, and is surrounded by lawns, trees, and terraces.

Bosman Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Brakpan, South Africa. The Falcons Currie Cup team has historically used this ground as their home base. The stadium is currently used for football and rugby matches. In October 2015, the Stadium made history as it was announced that it would host two 2017 Rugby League World Cup qualifiers between home team South Africa and Middle Eastern country Lebanon in a quest to determine which team, will qualify for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

Boksburg High School is a public high school in Boksburg, a suburb of Ekurhuleni, South Africa. The school was founded in 1920 as the Rand East Training and Preparatory College under its first Principal, Mr Charter. In 1925, the school changed its name to Boksburg High School. Over the years, substantial additions to the campus grounds were made such the absorption of Leeuwpoort Primary School . The school has had seven Principals over its nearly 100 years history and its enrollment rate expanded from the first class of the REPTC which consisted of 13 students, to approximately 1600 students as of 2019, acceptance to which being highly sought after with the school often receiving more applications for admission than places available. The school is among the top performing schools in its district.
