Les Hauts-Geneveys is a former municipality in the district of Val-de-Ruz in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. The municipalities of Boudevilliers, Cernier, Chézard-Saint-Martin, Coffrane, Dombresson, Engollon, Fenin-Vilars-Saules, Fontainemelon, Fontaines, Les Geneveys-sur-Coffrane, Les Hauts-Geneveys, Montmollin, Le Pâquier, Savagnier and Villiers merged on 1 January 2013 into the new municipality of Val-de-Ruz.

Les Hauts-Geneveys railway station (French: Gare de Les Hauts-Geneveys) is a railway station in the municipality of Val-de-Ruz, in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Neuchâtel–Le Locle-Col-des-Roches line of Swiss Federal Railways.

Val-de-Ruz District was one of the six districts of the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, until the district level was eliminated on 1 January 2018. It consisted of the region of Val de Ruz and the surrounding Jura Mountains. The district capital was the town of Cernier. It had a population of 17,411.

Vue des Alpes (el. 1282 m.) is a high mountain pass in the Jura Mountains in the canton of Neuchâtel. It connects La Chaux-de-Fonds and Neuchâtel. The pass road has a maximum grade of 10 percent. A road tunnel for the motorway has greatly reduced the traffic over the pass. At about 1,050 metres above sea level, it is the third highest motorway in Switzerland. As implied by its name, the pass provides a panoramic view of the Swiss Alps on a clear day.

The Tête de Ran (1,422 m) is a mountain of the Jura, located south-west of the Vue des Alpes in the canton of Neuchâtel. The summit is easily accessible with a road culminating at 1,329 metres. Several surface ski-lifts are located on the southern slopes, but are no longer in operation as of 2021.

The Battle of Coffrane took place on February 28, 1296, about 1 km to the east of Coffrane in the canton of Neuchâtel. The Lords of Valangin with support from the Bishop of Basel rebelled against the Count of Neuchâtel. The battle was fought in the Val-de-Ruz, next to the village of Coffrane. The Count of Neuchâtel, Rollin, won the battle.

Valangin (French pronunciation: ​[valɑ̃ʒɛ̃]) is a former municipality in the district of Val-de-Ruz in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. On 1 January 2021 the former municipalities of Corcelles-Cormondrèche, Peseux and Valangin merged into the municipality of Neuchâtel.

Chézard-Saint-Martin is a former municipality in the district of Val-de-Ruz in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. The municipalities of Boudevilliers, Cernier, Chézard-Saint-Martin, Coffrane, Dombresson, Engollon, Fenin-Vilars-Saules, Fontainemelon, Fontaines, Les Geneveys-sur-Coffrane, Les Hauts-Geneveys, Montmollin, Le Pâquier, Savagnier and Villiers merged on 1 January 2013 into the new municipality of Val-de-Ruz.
