Cernier

Val-de-Ruz District was one of the six districts of the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, until the district level was eliminated on 1 January 2018. It consisted of the region of Val de Ruz and the surrounding Jura Mountains. The district capital was the town of Cernier. It had a population of 17,411.

Mont d'Amin (1,417 m) is a mountain of the Jura, located east of the Vue des Alpes in the canton of Neuchâtel. It lies on the range between the valleys of Saint-Imier and Val-de-Ruz.

Vue des Alpes (el. 1282 m.) is a high mountain pass in the Jura Mountains in the canton of Neuchâtel. It connects La Chaux-de-Fonds and Neuchâtel. The pass road has a maximum grade of 10 percent. A road tunnel for the motorway has greatly reduced the traffic over the pass. At about 1,050 metres above sea level, it is the third highest motorway in Switzerland. As implied by its name, the pass provides a panoramic view of the Swiss Alps on a clear day.

Valangin (French pronunciation: ​[valɑ̃ʒɛ̃]) is a former municipality in the district of Val-de-Ruz in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. On 1 January 2021 the former municipalities of Corcelles-Cormondrèche, Peseux and Valangin merged into the municipality of Neuchâtel.
