The Milwaukee Road Depot in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin is a railroad depot built in 1896 and operated by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. It is a one-story hip-roofed building clad in split granite. The station served the Twin Cities Hiawatha from its formation in 1935 to its discontinuation in 1971, and now operates as Maxim's Restaurant. On display outside is a railway platform and Northern Pacific Railway 1923, a passenger car that operated on the Kettle Moraine Scenic Railway which was later renovated and painted red. The Canadian Pacific Railway's single-tracked Watertown Subdivision remains next to the depot. The depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and on the State Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Oconomowoc ( ə-KON-ə-mə-wok) is a city in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The name was derived from Coo-no-mo-wauk, the Potawatomi term for "waterfall." The population was 18,203 at the 2020 census. The city is partially adjacent to the Town of Oconomowoc and near the village of Oconomowoc Lake, Wisconsin.

Clarence Peck Residence

The Clarence Peck Residence, also known as the Dr. Hosea Townsend House, Madame Peck Residence, and Old White House, is a Greek Revival styled home. It was home to Clarence Peck, and is located at 430-434 Lake Dr., Oconomowoc, Wisconsin at the East end of Lac La Belle and south of the Lac La Belle dam. It consists of two sections, the main house, started in 1846, and an addition on the north, built c. 1859. The two sections were connected by an enclosed porch, which was removed about 1923, leaving two separate houses. It has since been reconverted to a single residence.

It is the only lake in the area that has soft water.It was previously called Soft Water Lake until it was named for Polly Gage (1805–1882) who lived on the lake and took advantage of the water’s softness for the laundry of the Nashotah Mission. Gage lived there until 1880 when the property was foreclosed. The family of Laura Tallmadge (1842–1879) also lived on the lake.The area once was called “Pabst Swamp Preserve”. After the Gages left, the son of Frederick Pabst, Fred Pabst, jr., purchased the land around the lake for Pabst Farms, and farm employees would ice skate on the lake in winter.The lake is now in Chapman Park, which was named for former city attorney Bill Chapman.The lake was once stocked with German carp and bullfrogs. Fred Pabst, Jr. later stocked it with goldfish.

Oconomowoc Lake is a village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. Located just outside the City of Oconomowoc, the village includes the residential area encircling Oconomowoc Lake. Around the turn of the 20th century, the area become known as a summer retreat for wealthy residents of Milwaukee and Chicago. The population was 566 at the 2020 census, and has remained one of the wealthiest jurisdictions in the state of Wisconsin.
