Gambrill Storage Building

The Rapid City Garage is a historic two-story building in Rapid City, South Dakota. It was built in 1911. The second floor was initially a hotel and later a nursing home until 1965. The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since August 1, 1984.

The First Congregational Church in Rapid City, South Dakota, also known as The Lord's Chapel, is a historic church at 715 Kansas City Street. It was built in 1914 and was added to the National Register in 1984.It is a two-story masonry and brick building which is about 55 by 73 feet (17 m × 22 m) in plan.

The Rapid City Historic Commercial District, sometimes called the Rapid City Downtown Historic District, is a 21-acre (8.5 ha), multi-block historic district in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota, United States. It includes 47 commercial buildings dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries that formed the core of Rapid City's early economy. It was first listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and then expanded to its current size in 1998.

The Milwaukee Road Freight House in Rapid City, South Dakota, United States, was built by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (also known as The Milwaukee Road) in 1923 to store and ship freight. The building is single storey, rectangular, and constructed of brick. Offices were placed at one end with warehouse space occupying the rest of the building. Large freight doors and bays are along each side. The circa 1915 depot is located east of the freight house. The Milwaukee Road built its line from eastern South Dakota to Rapid City in 1906-07. With the increase of tourists in the late 1910s, the railroad built the freight house. It was built of brick. The design was a modern one, based on other early 20th century commercial buildings. When The Milwaukee Road went bankrupt and abandoned its lines in South Dakota in 1980, it sold the freight house to local businesses for use as offices. The freight house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its association with The Milwaukee Road and railroad development in South Dakota.

The Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Rapid City, South Dakota is an historic Gothic Revival sandstone Episcopal church located at 717 Quincy Street. In 1975, Emmanuel Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places.It was built during 1887–88. It is a one-story cross-gabled building.

Rapid City High School (RCHS), formerly the Dakota Junior High School and then the Dakota Middle School, is an alternative high school at 601 Columbus Street, Rapid City, South Dakota. Established in 1923, the building served as the first site of Rapid City Central High School until it moved to a new facility on Mount Rushmore Road North. Rapid City High School also hosts the Performing Arts Center of Rapid City. The school building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 28, 2010.

Central High School is a high school in Rapid City, South Dakota. The principal is Mike Talley. The high school mascot is the Cobbler. The nickname was changed from "Tigers" to "Cobblers" to honor the South Dakota Hall of Fame Coach, Euclid N. "Euc" Cobb. Central teams compete in the Greater Dakota Conference, with teams from Spearfish, Sturgis, Rapid City Stevens, and Sioux Falls schools. Central High School moved from its original location south of downtown, to north of downtown and just west of the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in 1978. The original location was renovated and opened in the fall of 2013 as Rapid City High School again. United States President Calvin Coolidge made his announcement that he would not run for the presidency in 1927 from the old campus.

The Diocese of Rapid City (Latin: Dioecesis Rapidopolitana) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in western South Dakota in the United States It is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The mother church of the Diocese of Rapid City is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City. Peter Michael Muhich was installed as bishop on July 9, 2020.

Rapid City is the second most populous city in South Dakota and the county seat of Pennington County. Named after Rapid Creek, where the settlement developed, it is in western South Dakota, on the Black Hills' eastern slope. The population was 74,703 as of the 2020 Census.Known as the "Gateway to the Black Hills" and the "City of Presidents" because of the life-size bronze president statues downtown, Rapid City is split by a low mountain ridge that divides the city's western and eastern parts. Ellsworth Air Force Base is on the city's outskirts. Camp Rapid, part of the South Dakota Army National Guard, is in the city's western part. Rapid City is home to such attractions as Art Alley, Dinosaur Park, the City of Presidents walking tour, Chapel in the Hills, Storybook Island, and Main Street Square. The historic "Old West" town of Deadwood is nearby. In the neighboring Black Hills are the tourist attractions of Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, and the museum at the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research. To the city's east is Badlands National Park.
