Central High School (Rapid City, South Dakota)

SoDak Con formerly called SoDak Anime Convention, was an annual three-day anime convention held during May/June at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, South Dakota. The name of the convention comes from the state that the convention is located in, South Dakota.

The Monument, formerly known as Rushmore Plaza Civic Center and Rushmore Plaza, is a 500,000-square-foot (46,000 m2) exhibition center, in Rapid City, South Dakota. The Monument is the main event center for the Black Hills Region, serving Western South Dakota, South West North Dakota, North West Nebraska, and Eastern Wyoming. It is home to many large annual events, including the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo & Rodeo Rapid City, Lakota Nation Invitational, the Black Hills Homebuilders Expo, South Dakota High School Activities Association Tournaments, the Rapid City Rush ice hockey team of the ECHL, and the Rapid City Marshals of Champions Indoor Football. The Rapid City Thrillers semi-professional basketball team also formerly played games at the complex. The grand opening event was a concert by Elvis Presley on June 21, 1977, which was filmed for a CBS television special that aired in October. The concert was during the singer's final tour before his death on August 16, 1977. The center contains two multi-purpose arenas: an ice arena, home to the Rapid City Rush hockey team, and the 10,000-seat Summit Arena completed in October 2021 that is home to the Rapid City Marshals. The venue also contains a fieldhouse, a fine arts theatre, two large convention/exhibit halls, and numerous other meeting rooms. After the venue was remodeled in 2021, the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center was renamed The Monument after a naming rights agreement with Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

Rapid City Fruit Company is a historic building at 320 7th Street in Rapid City, South Dakota. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

The Milwaukee Road Freight House in Rapid City, South Dakota, United States, was built by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (also known as The Milwaukee Road) in 1923 to store and ship freight. The building is single storey, rectangular, and constructed of brick. Offices were placed at one end with warehouse space occupying the rest of the building. Large freight doors and bays are along each side. The circa 1915 depot is located east of the freight house. The Milwaukee Road built its line from eastern South Dakota to Rapid City in 1906-07. With the increase of tourists in the late 1910s, the railroad built the freight house. It was built of brick. The design was a modern one, based on other early 20th century commercial buildings. When The Milwaukee Road went bankrupt and abandoned its lines in South Dakota in 1980, it sold the freight house to local businesses for use as offices. The freight house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its association with The Milwaukee Road and railroad development in South Dakota.

The Gambrill Storage Building is a historic two-story building in Rapid City, South Dakota. It was designed in the Renaissance Revival style, and built in 1910 by Horace C. Gambrill.It was reported in the Rapid City Journal in 1910 that it was then the only storage building/warehouse in town. Another RCJ article from 1984 noted, "the building retains its original rectangular windows capped with arched lintels and its contrasting colored brick on the front facade."It has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since February 23, 1984.

The Rapid City Garage is a historic two-story building in Rapid City, South Dakota. It was built in 1911. The second floor was initially a hotel and later a nursing home until 1965. The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since August 1, 1984.

The Rapid City Historic Commercial District, sometimes called the Rapid City Downtown Historic District, is a 21-acre (8.5 ha), multi-block historic district in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota, United States. It includes 47 commercial buildings dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries that formed the core of Rapid City's early economy. It was first listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and then expanded to its current size in 1998.

The First Congregational Church in Rapid City, South Dakota, also known as The Lord's Chapel, is a historic church at 715 Kansas City Street. It was built in 1914 and was added to the National Register in 1984.It is a two-story masonry and brick building which is about 55 by 73 feet (17 m × 22 m) in plan.

The Rapid City Carnegie Library is a historic Carnegie library building in Rapid City, South Dakota. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

The Pap Madison Cabin is a historic site located in Rapid City, South Dakota near The Journey Museum and Learning Center, it is the oldest Euro-American building in the Black Hills area. The cabin was built in 1876 by pioneer Rufus 'Pap' Madison using cottonwood found alongside the banks of the nearby Rapid Creek. Madison stayed in the house from its completion until 1889, when he sold the land to Rapid City's founder, John Brennan. Brennan gave the cottage to the city in 1926.
