Restaurant Halvemaan is a former restaurant in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1991 and retained that rating until 1997. The restaurant closed at 28 October 2018.In 2013, GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points.Owner and head chef of Halvemaan is John Halvemaan.The building of the restaurant is a purpose built restaurant designed by Alexander Bodon. It is located in a park in the neighbourhood Buitenveldert. The restaurant opened in 1989.

Zuideramstel was from 1998 to 2010 a borough (stadsdeel) of Amsterdam, Netherlands. On 1 May 2010 it became part of the new Amsterdam Zuid borough. The borough had been formed in 1998 from the previous boroughs of Rivierenbuurt and Buitenveldert, with the addition of the Prinses Irenebuurt (which until then had been part of the previous Amsterdam Zuid borough).

A.J. Ernststraat is a tram stop within the city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The stop serves tram lines 5 and 25. Line 25, dubbed the Amsteltram before receiving its line number, opened officially on 13 December 2020, unofficially 4 days earlier on 9 December.Before being rebuilt in 2019 and 2020, the stop used to serve both the low-floor trams of tram line 5 plus the high-floor trams of metro line 51, a hybrid metro/sneltram (light rail) service that opened in 1990. Both lines 5 and 51 shared the same pair of tracks but used separate, adjacent platforms. There were a pair of low-level platforms for line 5 and a separate pair of high-level platforms for line 51, with stairs connecting the two platform levels. In 2019, metro line 51 service south of Amsterdam Zuid station was terminated to rebuild stations to accommodate only the low-floor trams of lines 5 and 25; the high-level platforms were demolished, and the low-level platforms were lengthened to handle a coupled pair of low-floor trams. As part of the rebuild, the stop was relocated from the south side of Arent Janszoon Ernststraat to the north side of the intersection with Buitenveldertselaan.

Sportpark Het Loopveld is a cricket ground in Amstelveen, the Netherlands. The first and to date only recorded match on the ground came in 2003, when the ground held a Women's One Day International between Ireland Women and the West Indies Women in the IWCC Trophy.The ground is used by ACC.

There were two tram stops with the name De Boelelaan/VU at or near the instersection of Parnassusweg/Buitenveldertselaan & De Boelelaan in Amsterdam. (Parnassusweg and Buitenveldertselaan are effectively the same north/south street with a change of name at the cross-street De Boelelaan.) A combined metro/tram stop was located along Buitenveldertselaan on the south side of De Boelelaan, and a separate tram stop is located on the north side of De Boelelaan about 180 metres (590 ft) west of Parnassusweg. The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU or VU Amsterdam) is a public research university in Amsterdam, Netherlands, founded in 1880, and consistently ranks among the top 150 universities in the world by major ranking tables. The VU is one of two large, publicly funded research universities in the city, the other being the University of Amsterdam (UvA). The literal translation of the Dutch name Vrije Universiteit is "Free University". "Free" refers to independence of the university from both the State and the Dutch Reformed Church. Both within and outside the university, the institution is commonly referred to as "the VU". Although founded as a private institution, the VU has received government funding on a parity basis with public universities since 1970. The university is located on a compact urban campus in the southern Buitenveldert neighbourhood of Amsterdam and adjacent to the modern Zuidas business district. As of October 2021, the VU had 29,796 registered students, most of whom were full-time students. That year, the university had 2,263 faculty members and researchers, and 1,410 administrative, clerical and technical employees, based on FTE units. The university's annual endowment for 2014 was circa €480 million. About three quarters of this endowment is government funding; the remainder is made up of tuition fees, research grants, and private funding.The official university seal is entitled The Virgin in the Garden. Personally chosen by Abraham Kuyper, the Reformed-Protestant leader and founder of the university, it depicts a virgin living in freedom in a garden while pointing towards God, referring to the Protestant Reformation in the Netherlands in the 16th and 17th century. In 1990, the university adopted the mythical griffin as its common emblem.

The office tower The Rock at the Gustav Mahlersquare is part of the Mahler 4 office area in Amsterdam. The building distinguishes itself by the crooked glass, aluminum, stone and concrete elements. The building seems to be much heavier at the upper parts compared to the lower area. The design is very rough and feels like a rock. It is one of the tallest buildings at the Zuidas in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Zuid ("Amsterdam South") is a railway station situated in the borough of Amsterdam-Zuid in Amsterdam, Netherlands. For a number of years, it was named Amsterdam Zuid WTC, in reference to the neighbouring World Trade Center Amsterdam. During 2006, in conjunction with the rapid development of the area surrounding the station, the station was enlarged and the reference to the WTC was formally dropped from the name. As of 2021, Amsterdam Zuid also has a metro station served by 3 lines (50, 51, 52) of the Amsterdam Metro, and two tram stops (Station Zuid and Parnassusweg) served by tram lines 5 and 25. During 1978, Amsterdam Zuid station opened on a strategic rail route commonly known as the Zuidtak and formed the heart of the modern Zuidas business district, which houses several large banks, accounting and legal firms, as well as being the main public transport gateway for the VU University campus located just south of the station. Over time, the station has played an increasingly important role in Amsterdam's transport strategy and passenger numbers have grown extensively since its opening. To cope with its high patronage, Amsterdam Zuid has been extended and additional services put on; it has effectively replaced the older Amsterdam Centraal station as the capital's main station for direct trains. During the 2010s, as a means of allowing for further development at the station, a large expansion plan was proposed for Amsterdam Zuid. During December 2014, an agreement for this expansion plan, which has been referred to as the Zuidasdok project, was signed by various public bodies, authorising it to proceed. The publicly funded project has an estimated cost of approximately €1.9 billion; this price tag means it shall be one of the biggest infrastructure projects ever performed in the Netherlands to date. Having received political backing, construction commenced in 2019 and is scheduled for completion around 2028.
