Hohenwerfen Castle

Werfen (German pronunciation: [ˈvɛɐ̯fn̩]) is a market town in the district of St. Johann im Pongau, in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is mainly known for medieval Hohenwerfen Castle and the Eisriesenwelt ice cave, the largest in the world.

Kreuzbergmaut Hydroelectric Power Station (German: Kraftwerk Kreuzbergmaut) is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station on the Salzach. It is located in Pfarrwerfen municipality, state of Salzburg, Austria. Construction of the power station began in 1993. It was operational in 1995. Kreuzbergmaut is owned by Verbund and Salzburg AG. The operator is Salzburg AG.

The Tennen Mountains (German: Tennengebirge) is a small, but rugged, mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps, which lies in front of the Eastern Alps for its entire length. It is a very heavily karstified high plateau, about 60 km² in area, with many caves. The range is located in Austria in the district of Salzburg near Bischofshofen. Some 37 square kilometres of the Tennen plateau are above the 2,000 metre line and that part of the range within the state of Salzburg was turned into a nature reserve in 1982.

Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze ("Paul Ausserleitner Hill") was opened in 1947 as "Hochkönigsschanze", and re-built in 2004, and is a ski jumping venue in Bischofshofen, Austria. It is one of the more important venues in the FIS Ski jumping World Cup, annually hosting the fourth and final competition of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament. It was renamed after Paul Ausserleitner, an Austrian ski jumper who died of the consequences of a fall on this hill in January 1952.

Schloss Blühnbach (German: Schloss Blühnbach) is a stately home in the Blühnbach valley in Werfen, Salzburg (state), Austria. Formerly, it was a hunting lodge of the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg and Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, whose assassination in Sarajevo triggered World War I. The estate is privately owned by a charitable foundation, and is not open to the general public.

Lueg Pass (German: Pass Lueg [ˈpas ˈluːɛɡ]) is a mountain pass or defile above the Salzachöfen Gorge in Salzburg State, Austria. The pass is at the western edge of the Tennen Mountains and is approximately 100 m (330 ft) above the Salzach river where Salzachöfen is at its narrowest. The terms Lueg Pass and Salzachöfen are sometimes used interchangeably to refer to the whole canyon. Lueg Pass, providing a natural access through the narrow gap, was historically one of the primary routes across the Northern Limestone Alps.

The Salzburg Slate Alps (German: Salzburger Schieferalpen) are a mountain range of the Eastern Alps, in the Austrian state of Salzburg. Situated within the greywacke zone, they could be regarded either as part of the Northern Limestone Alps or of the Central Eastern Alps.
