Marrecs de Salt (Catalan pronunciation: [məˈrɛɡz ðə ˈsal]) is a group of castellers (human tower builders) from Salt, Girona (Catalonia), founded in 1995. They are also to be considered as the local group in Girona, together with their university counterpart: Xoriguers de la UdG. They are one of the seven active groups in the province of Girona, and since the dissolution of Castellers de l'Albera, also the oldest. Their best human tower is the 5 in 8 and their best performance was on 27 October 2013 for the performance of Sant Narcís in the city of Girona, were they completed the 4 in 8, the 2 in 8 with double base, the 3 in 8 and the pillar of 6. Their shirt is blue standing for the river Ter, which flows through both Salt and Girona, as well as other regions of the province.

The Güell (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈɡweʎ]) is a river in Catalonia, Spain. It has a length of 1.5 kilometres (0.9 mi) and passes through the city of Girona.

El Celler de Can Roca is a restaurant in Girona, Catalonia, Spain opened in 1986 by the Roca brothers, Joan, Josep and Jordi. It was first located next to their parents' restaurant Can Roca, but moved to its current purpose-built building in 2007. It has been received warmly by critics, and holds three Michelin stars. El Celler de Can Roca was ranked the best restaurant in the world by the magazine Restaurant in 2013 and 2015, and was ranked second in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2018.

Pavelló Girona-Fontajau is an indoor arena in Girona, Catalonia, northern Spain, that holds 5,500 people. It is primarily used for basketball and is the home arena of Uni Girona CB and Bàsquet Girona. The building was designed in 1993 by the architects Esteve Bonell and Josep M. Gil and was opened on September 4, 1993. It is structured in two levels, one for the public (the high level) and another, of which use is restricted to the sportsmen (the low level), with differentiated entries. Apart from basketball, it is used also for other sports like Indoor motorcycle trials and tennis matches.

Girona (Catalan: Estació de Girona) is a railway station serving the city of Girona in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the northern part of the municipality, lying at approximately 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) southwest of the city's historical centre.The station is on the Barcelona–Cerbère conventional rail line and the Perpignan–Barcelona high-speed rail line. It is served by Rodalies de Catalunya regional line R11 and Girona commuter rail service line RG1, as well as by several national and international AVE and TGV high-speed services operated by Renfe Operadora and SNCF.Girona also has a freight station, located about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south of the passenger station.

The Collegiate Church of St. Felix (Catalan: Col·legiata de Sant Feliu) is a basilica dedicated to St. Felix in the Catalan city of Girona, dating to the early days of Christianity. It houses the offices of the Parish of Sant Feliu, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Girona, so called because it was the main church of Girona before the construction of the Girona Cathedral. Its construction, in honor of Felix of Girona (Sant Feliu), occurred from the 12th century until the 17th century. It retains much of the Romanesque construction, completed later with a Gothic nave and a covered baroque facade. It is notable for its eight Roman and early Christian sarcophagi of the 3rd and 4th centuries, along with the Gothic tomb of Narcissus of Girona who, according to tradition, was one of the early bishops of the see.

The city had an official population of 103,369 in 2020 but, the population of the Girona–Salt urban area is estimated to be about 156,400 (2020). Girona is the capital of the province of the same name and also capital of the comarca of the Gironès and the vegueria of Girona. Since much of the old quarter of this ancient city has been preserved, Girona is a popular destination for tourists. It has also been used as a filming location for various productions, including Game of Thrones. The city is located 99 km (62 mi) northeast of Barcelona.

Sant Gregori is a village in the province of Girona, an autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of 49.32 square kilometres (19.04 sq mi) and the population in 2014 was 3,464.Sant Gregori was also the site of the 2019 Active Methodology course, delivered at Institut Vall de Llémena from July 1–5.

The Cinema Museum - Tomàs Mallol Collection is a museum dedicated to the world of film and moving images. It was created in the city of Girona (Catalonia) from the Tomàs Mallol Collection of pre-cinema and cinema objects, which was acquired in 1994 by the City Council of Girona. The museum was inaugurated on April 8, 1998, the first of its kind in Spain, which hosts a variety of material of cinema and precinema. Besides the permanent exhibition displays the Tomàs Mallol Collection, a journey through 400 years of the history of the moving image. The Cinema Museum also has an active educational service with educational activities about cinema and the moving image, an extensive program of activities and temporary exhibitions, an Institute of Studies (with library service, video library and archive), a club of friends of the museum and the Museum Shop. The Cinema Museum has received several awards and honors, which include a finalist nomination in the "European Museum of the Year Award" (2000), the Gonzalez Sinde Prize (2003) awarded by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences from Spain, and in 2006 the National Heritage Award, given by the Government of Catalonia. Finally, in 2010 was awarded the Martha Mata Education Prize, awarded by the Association Rosa Sensat Teachers.

The Restaurant Casa Marieta is a centenary establishment recognized by the "Círculo de Restaurantes Centenarios de España", located in Independence Square, Girona, also well-known like Sant Agustí Square, because formerly the convent of Sant Agustí had been risen there. The present name is given by the war of 1808 against Napoleon Bonaparte (War of Spanish Independence).

The Performance of Sant Narcís (or Diada de Sant Narcís in Catalan) is an annual performance of human towers made by castellers in Plaça del Vi, Girona. It is part of the acts of the main festivities of the city of Girona, dedicated to Saint Narcissus, patron of the city. Sant Narcís has seen som milestones by Minyons de Terrassa which in 1998 completed the first 4 in 9 with single base of the 20th century and their first pillar of 7 with double base, in 2008 their first pillar of 8 with triple base and in 2014 the 3 in 10 with triple base.
