Black Hill Conservation Park

The Torrens Linear Park was completed in 1997 as the first of its kind developed in Australia where it is the largest hills-to-coast park. It began as a flood mitigation scheme along the River Torrens running westward from the Adelaide Hills, through the Adelaide metropolitan area, to the sea. Cyclists and walkers can use a trail that runs the 30 km (19 mi) length of the park, from Gorge Road, in Athelstone in the north-east, through the Northern Parklands of the City of Adelaide, to the river mouth at Henley Beach in the west. In the Parklands section, the river runs past many notable landmarks including the Adelaide Zoo, the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the Festival Theatre and Elder Park. There are shared-use pedestrian and cycling paths along both sides of the river for most of the length of the park, and along one side of the O-Bahn Busway.

Athelstone is a suburb of Adelaide in the City of Campbelltown. It was established in the 19th century but only became part of suburban Adelaide in the second half of the 20th century. It is approximately 10 km east of Adelaide's central business district. The main arterial road, Gorge Road, runs through this suburb in an east–west direction. The River Torrens, one of Adelaide's major water supplies, borders the suburb. This water source runs its way from Mount Pleasant to the sea. Gorge Road leads up into the Adelaide Hills, joining the gorge of the Kangaroo Creek Dam, and the Torrens' source. Fifth Creek (a tributary to the River Torrens) also runs through the suburb as an intermittent stream, prone to flooding in late Spring (October–December). Athelstone is bounded by the River Torrens, Black Hill Conservation Park, Montacute Road, Stradbroke Road, Hamilton Terrace, Schulze Road and River Drive.

Montacute is a small regional area in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Montacute is located on Fifth Creek, and the mostly-rural suburb extends from Rostrevor in the west to Lenswood in the east, bounded on the north by Castambul and on the south by Norton Summit and Cherryville. The small town of Montacute Heights is located on top of the ridge between Fifth and Sixth Creeks. Copper was discovered in the area in 1843 by Thomas Burr, and a mine was soon set up. One of the mine's financiers, Sir John Baker, named the area after Montacute, Somerset, which was near his birthplace. Gold was discovered in 1846 and the "Victoria Mine" became Australia's first commercially exploited gold deposit.The main industries are now orchards and market gardens. The 200 hectare Montacute Conservation Park was founded in 1971.Corkscrew Road, a small road linking Montacute Heights with Gorge Road via a precipitous route with many twists and turns, is a popular route for cyclists and day trippers.

Saint Ignatius' College is an independent Catholic pre-school, primary and secondary day school for boys and girls, located in Adelaide, South Australia. The school is part of the international network of Jesuit schools which began in Messina, Sicily, in 1548. The patron saint of the College is the founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), Ignatius of Loyola. The College has two campuses: the Junior Campus in Norwood, containing the Junior School (Reception to Year 6 students) and Early Ignatius Learning Centre (3 to 5 years old), and the Senior Campus in Athelstone, located across some 16 hectares (40 acres), home to the Senior School (Year 7 to 12 students).

Morialta Conservation Park, formerly the Morialta Falls Reserve and the Morialta Falls National Pleasure Resort, is a protected area 10 km north-east of Adelaide city centre, in the state of South Australia, Australia. The park is in a rugged bush environment, with a narrow gorge set with three waterfalls, bounded by steep ridges and cliffs. The park caters to many activities, including bushwalking, bird watching and rock climbing. The name is probably derived from the Kaurna name Marriyarta, meaning "eastern land or country".

Castambul is a small locality near Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the Adelaide Hills Council local government area.

Newton is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, situated in the Adelaide foothills northeast of the city centre. The area features a significant population of people of Italian origin. Part of the City of Campbelltown, Newton is surrounded by the suburbs Paradise, Rostrevor, Athelstone and Campbelltown. Newton is home to such public schools as Thorndon Park Primary School and Charles Campbell College and the private St Francis of Assisi School. The area is also home to chain supermarkets and small shops, most notably Newton Village.

The First Falls, a plunge waterfall on the Fourth Creek, is located in the Adelaide Hills region in the Australian state of South Australia. Situated within the Morialta Conservation Park, the First Falls are the first of a series of three waterfalls that are located approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) northeast of the Adelaide city centre.

Highbury is a suburb of Adelaide South Australia in the City of Tea Tree Gully in the Adelaide foothills. It is eastwardly adjacent to the suburbs of Hope Valley and Dernancourt. The River Torrens forms southern border of the suburb, with the suburbs of Paradise and Athelstone lying adjacent across the river. The eastern end of the suburb lies in the Adelaide Hills Face Zone

Thorndon Park Reserve is a public park in the Adelaide suburb of Paradise, South Australia. It was originally the site of the Thorndon Park reservoir, which was completed in 1860. The reserve became accessible to the public for recreational use in 1986. It was redesigned in the 2000s and as of 2015 improvement works are ongoing. The reserve has picnic areas, barbecues, play equipment for children, large grassy areas, wheelchair-friendly walking paths, an amphitheatre, waterways and a terraced series of ponds and wetlands which support diverse native flora and fauna. In 2014, the prospect of establishing a community orchard within the Thorndon Park Reserve was considered. Dogs are not permitted in the park.

Rostrevor is a suburb of Adelaide within the City of Campbelltown and the Adelaide Hills Council. It is located about 10 kilometres east-north-east of the Adelaide city centre. Rostrevor has a creek running through the middle of it, called Fourth Creek, which runs into the River Torrens. Rostrevor is in the State House of Assembly Electoral district of Morialta and is in the Federal Division of Sturt. It was named after the village of Rostrevor in Northern Ireland. Some of the facilities in Rostrevor include Stradbroke School, Foodland, Rostrevor Baptist Church, and a nature playground in Morialta Conservation Park.Campbelltown City Council has an active boundary change proposal in place to incorporate the Adelaide Hills Council part of Rostrevor along with part of neighbouring Woodforde into its boundaries. This is despite an overwhelming 65% majority of residents and ratepayers opposing it in a survey conducted in 2019.

The Dickson House (1950) is the residence of architect Robert Dickson and his partner Lilian, located at Wandilla Drive in Rostrevor, South Australia. The house design commenced in 1949, three years into his architectural studies and in 1951 he took a year off to build it.: 14  Situated on a sloping side opposite the Morialta Conservation Park, the site characteristics, topography, orientation, views and approach dictate the planning arrangement, while responding to local materials and a limited budget. In 2009 the house was listed as a state heritage place on the South Australian Heritage Register, a gratifying achievement for Dickson as a simple contemporary, student-designed house built in 1950 is not commonly associated with heritage listing.: 33  Its significance is reported as follows:Dickson House at Rostrevor has unique and significant associations with the life and work of Robert Dickson, and demonstrates a high degree of creative, aesthetic and technical accomplishment as well as being an influential representative of modern organic design and construction. In particular, the way in which the place relates to its site, its outstanding quality and integrity, and the fact that it has been internationally recognised as one of Australia's most architecturally-notable mid-20th-century houses provide it with outstanding significance in the context of South Australia's architectural development.
