Rail service through Godlia is older, having opened as a tram line already in 1926.Access to the station is from Godliaveien which passes below the line immediately south of the station. The neighborhood around the station is mainly residential, with several detached houses.

Hellerud was a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway up to January 1, 2004, when it became part of the new borough of Alna. It is also a traditional neighbourhood located within this area to the south of Tveita and Haugerud and north of Oppsal. It borders on the forest of Østmarka.

The station is the first one on Furusetbanen that is not shared with another line. It was opened as part of the original line in 1970. Tveita is located underneath the shopping centre Tveita senter. The neighborhood of Tveita is a dense residential area with several large apartment buildings.

Østensjø (pronounced [ˈœ̂sːtn̩ˌʂøː] (listen)) is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. The borough is in the southeastern part of Oslo. It is well known for its proximity to the forested area of Østmarka, a popular resort and hiking area for the citizens of Oslo and Lørenskog. Østensjø consists of the suburbs of Bøler, Abildsø, Bogerud, Skullerud, Ulsrud, Hellerud, Trasop, Oppsal and Manglerud, all located around Lake Østensjøvannet. The Østensjøvannet area has been a protected wildlife reserve since 1992. Østensjø has traditionally been a Norwegian middle and working class borough, compared to the more immigrant populated boroughs in Oslo East End, like Alna, Grorud, Stovner and Søndre Nordstrand. The club IL Manglerud Star which is known for ice hockey and football is located here.

Tveita Senter is one of the largest shopping centres in Oslo, Norway. The shopping mall is located at in the neighborhood of Tveita on the border between the boroughs of Alna and Østensjø. It is situated beside Tveita Station on the Oslo Metro and is connected with five different bus lines. Tveita Senter is owned by OBOS Forretningsbygg AS (OBOS).Tveita Senter was reopened in 2003, after a major renovation during which both its interior and exterior was rebuilt. The shopping mall appears as a modern mall, and is one of the largest and most complete shopping malls in the area. Its 73 stores includes a postal office, bank, pharmacy, liquor store and grocery stores, as well as a second floor containing several clothing stores. Since its renovation it has experienced a great increase in its turnover. In 2008 it was visited by 3.5 million people, with a turnover of NOK 768 million.

Bøler is a station on Østensjø Line (Line 3) on Norway's Oslo Metro system between the stations of Ulsrud and Bogerud, 9.2 kilometers (5.7 mi) from Stortinget, in the area of the same name. The station opened as a subway station on 29 October 1967, but rail service to Bøler started already in 1958 as part of the city's tram network.The Bøler neighborhood is residential which was developed as a suburb during the late 1950s and 1960s. The old farm at Bøler lies next to the station and is preserved. The station itself has the common layout of two side platforms. The road Utmarkveien passes directly above the station by means of a road bridge. Criticism has been raised over the station's dilapidated condition, but funds for renovation went to other subway stations in 2005.

Hellerud is a station on the Oslo Metro system which is shared by two lines, line 2 (the Furuset Line) and line 3 (the Østensjø Line). These two lines diverge immediately east of the station with the eastbound Furuset Line track first diverging southwards before running under the Østensjø Line in order to avoid having the main tracks cross each other. The lines share the same track and platforms. The station is located in a mostly residential area, formerly called the Hellerud borough. Apartment buildings located mainly to the north side of the station. To the south on the Østensjø Line the next station is Godlia, to the north on the Furuset Line the next station is Tveita, and on the inbound line westwards the next station is Brynseng. The station was opened 29 October 1967 as part of the Østensjø Line, with the line to Furuset coming three years later. Karl Stenersen was the station's architect.
