Mishkan Chicago is a Progressive Jewish congregation, located in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. The congregation was founded in 2011 by Rabbi Lizzi Heydemann and was loosely modeled after IKAR in Los Angeles, where Heydemann served as a rabbinic intern. The congregation is a member of the Jewish Emergent Network.

J.C. Deagan, Inc. is a former musical instrument manufacturing company that developed and produced instruments from the late 19th- to mid-20th century. The company was founded in 1880 by John Calhoun Deagan and initially manufactured glockenspiels. It was noted for its development of the xylophone, vibraharp, organ chimes, aluminum chimes, aluminum harp, Swiss handbells, the marimba, orchestra bells, and marimbaphone. Church bells were revolutionized by Deagan through his design of tubular bells, and the NBC chimes were his creation.Its former headquarters, the tower of which still bears the company name, is a landmark in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.Since 1984, Deagan is a brand owned by Yamaha, which distributes and sells products with the Deagan name.

Daiyuzenji is a Rinzai Zen Buddhist temple located on the north side of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. Daiyuzenji began in 1982 as the Illinois betsuin (branch temple) of Daihonzan Chozen-ji, a Rinzai headquarters temple founded in 1979 in Honolulu, Hawaii by Omori Sogen Roshi (1904-1994), a successor in the Tenryu-ji line of Rinzai Zen. Fumio Toyoda, a lay Zen master and martial art teacher who had emigrated to Chicago from Japan in 1974, was the driving force behind the founding and administration of the betsuin. Tenshin Tanouye Roshi and Dogen Hosokawa Roshi, two of Omori Roshi's successors who taught at Chozen-ji, traveled to Chicago beginning in the early 1980s to lead sesshin there. Eventually the Chicago betsuin developed a cadre of senior students, including several ordained priests. In 2005 it was designated a fully independent temple by Hosokawa Roshi, named Sokeizan Daiyuzenji (曹渓山大雄禅寺). So'zan Miller Roshi, one of Hosokawa Roshi's dharma heirs, was appointed the first Daiyuzenji shike (abbot). Daiyuzenji teachers are also involved with the establishment of Korinji, a new Rinzai Zen Buddhist sodo (monastery) in the Madison, Wisconsin area. Groundbreaking for this occurred in June, 2009. Daiyuzenji and Korinji together anchor a network of associated Zen practice groups called the Rinzai Zen Community (RZC).

Lake View High School is a public four-year high school located in the Lake View neighborhood on the north side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Lake View is a part of the Chicago Public Schools district. While the current building opened in 1886, the school itself opened in 1874, dating to a time when the Lake View community was not a part of the city of Chicago. Lake View became a part of Chicago in 1889. Created when the Lake View area was its own township before it joined Chicago, the school is the oldest operating township secondary school in the state of Illinois.Parts of the film My Bodyguard were filmed at Lake View High School.

Addison is an 'L' station on the CTA's Brown Line. It is an elevated station with two side platforms, located at 1818–20 West Addison Street in Chicago's North Center neighborhood. The stations that are adjacent to Addison are Irving Park, one-half mile (0.80 km) to the north, and Paulina, about three-eighths mile (0.60 km) to the southeast.

Pilgrim Lutheran School, Chicago, is a Lutheran private school affiliated with Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Chicago, Illinois. Collectively, the church and school are referred to as Pilgrim Lutheran Church and School.

North Center is one of the 77 community areas of Chicago, Illinois, located in the city's North Side. North Center is bordered on the north by Montrose Avenue, on the south by Diversey Parkway, on the west by the Chicago River and on the east by Ravenswood Avenue; it includes the neighborhoods of North Center, Roscoe Village, St. Ben's, and Hamlin Park. The Brown Line of the Chicago 'L' has stops within the community area at Addison, Irving Park, and Montrose. North Center was settled in the latter part of the 19th century and the early 20th century largely by Germans who worked in what is known as the industrial corridor along Ravenswood Avenue, and the large industrial plants along the Chicago River to the west.

North Park is one of 77 well-defined community areas of the City of Chicago. It is bordered by the North Shore Channel on the east, the Chicago River's North Branch and Foster Avenue on the south, Cicero Avenue on the west (except for the section in the northwest corner, north of Bryn Mawr Avenue, which is part of the Sauganash neighborhood) and Devon Avenue on the north.

The East Ravenswood Historic District is a primarily residential historic district in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Constructed between 1880 and 1940, the buildings in the district include the first parts of Ravenswood to be developed. Ravenswood was one of Chicago's first suburban neighborhoods, and the area's many trees and proximity to the Chicago River appealed to residents looking for less urbanized surroundings. Transit connections, including the new Ravenswood branch of the Chicago 'L', and the growth of Chicago as a whole brought new residents and greater density to the neighborhood over the ensuing decades. The district is mainly composed of houses and small apartment buildings, the designs of which reflect the transition from the Queen Anne and Victorian designs of the late nineteenth century to the Prairie School and revival styles of the twentieth. It is also noted for its many churches, which represent the variety of religious denominations in the neighborhood and showcase religious architecture of the period.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 3, 1991.

Lillstreet Art Center is an arts center in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is one of the oldest and most successful co-ops in Chicago and its facilities include classrooms for arts education, a gallery, an artist residency program, studio spaces, and a community outreach program.
