Chinatown, Boston is a neighborhood located in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. It is the only surviving historic ethnic Chinese enclave in New England since the demise of the Chinatowns in Providence, Rhode Island and Portland, Maine after the 1950s. Because of the high population of Asians and Asian Americans living in this area of Boston, there is an abundance of Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants located in Chinatown. It is one of the most densely populated residential areas in Boston and serves as the largest center of its East Asian and Southeast Asian cultural life. Chinatown borders the Boston Common, Downtown Crossing, the Washington Street Theatre District, Bay Village, the South End, and the Southeast Expressway/Massachusetts Turnpike. Boston's Chinatown is one of the largest Chinatowns outside of New York City.

The Textile District is a historic district encompassing a cluster of commercial buildings in the central business district of Boston, Massachusetts. It consists of properties roughly on Essex Street from Phillips Square to Columbia Street and Chauncy Street from Phillips Square to Rowe Place. This area was the center of Boston's dry goods commercial business, and was developed between 1888 and 1922. Most of the buildings are between five and eight stories, and were architect-designed to serve mercantile interests. The district's oldest building is the 1889 Romanesque Revival Auchmuty Building at 104-122 Kingston Street.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.Almost all textile stores and factories have now closed—most were family-run businesses without heirs, and some closed due to competition from large superstores such as JoAnn Fabrics. Winmill Fabrics on Chauncy Street is one of the few stores still remaining.

One Lincoln Street, also known as State Street Financial Center, is a skyscraper in Boston, Massachusetts on the edge of both the Financial District and neighborhood of Chinatown. Completed in 2003, it was built using Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) guidelines. Standing at 503 feet (153 m) tall, One Lincoln Street is the 17th-tallest building in Boston. The skyscraper has a five-level underground garage that provides parking for 900 cars. It contains 1 million square feet (93,000 square meter) of office space. The building was designed by TRO Jung Brannen. During the topping off ceremony Mayor Thomas M. Menino stated "One Lincoln will be a tremendous addition to the City and will become a signature gateway to the Financial District". The skyscraper is also the headquarters of the State Street Corporation.

The Font Bureau, Inc. or Font Bureau is a digital type foundry based in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The foundry is one of the leading designers of typefaces, specializing in type designs for magazine and newspaper publishers.

The Pickwick Club collapse occurred on July 4, 1925. It killed 44 persons, making it the deadliest building collapse in Boston's history and the second deadliest accident in Boston (behind the Summer Street Bridge disaster) at that time.

The Green Restaurant Association (GRA) is a United States non-profit organization that provides certification for restaurants to become more environmentally responsible. Since 1990, the GRA has been building an extensive database of environmental goals for the restaurant industry. Green Restaurant Certification allows diners to be able to rely on their favorite restaurant's environmental claims and communicates credibility. The GRA rates existing restaurants and food service operations with points in seven environmental categories. These categories are water efficiency, waste reduction and recycling, sustainable furnishings and building materials, sustainable food, energy, disposables, chemical and pollution reduction. Certified Green Restaurants need to accumulate points to be certified, have a full-scale recycling program, be free of polystyrene foam (a.k.a. Styrofoam), and fulfill yearly education requirements.

The Leather District is a neighborhood of Boston near South Street, between the Financial District and Chinatown. The Leather District (occasionally referred to as the "LD") is a tightly defined area bounded by Kneeland Street to the south, Essex Street to the north, Atlantic Avenue to the east and Lincoln Street to the west. It is so named due to the dominance of the leather industry in the late 19th century.

The Playland Café (1937–1998), located at 21 Essex Street in Boston, Massachusetts, was Boston's oldest gay bar.

South Street Diner, established in 1947, is a 24-hour, seven night a week diner in Boston's Leather District. It was named '2011 Best Diner' by Boston Magazine, along with 'The Best Late Night Food' in the US by Esquire. Thrillist named South Street Diner as one of the best 24-hour diners in the country.

The Beach-Knapp District encompasses a collection of six 19th-century buildings in the Chinatown neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It is centered at the corner of Beach and Knapp Streets, and includes three buildings on the south side of Beach Street, and three on the east side of Knapp. The buildings encapsulate the transition of the area from a predominantly residential area to a mixed residential-light industrial area in the 19th century. At 5 and 7 Knapp Street stand two Greek Revival residential structures, both built in the 1830s. The four story Renaissaince Revival building at 7-15 Beach Street was built c. 1885, and was historically used as a hotel. The other three buildings, 17-23 Beach, 25-29 Beach, and 9-23 Knapp, are all commercial buildings dating between 1885 and 1906; two of them were designed by Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
