Booby's Bay

Polventon House is a grade II listed private house overlooking Mother Ivey's Bay near Padstow in Cornwall, England. It was built in the International Style on a clifftop in 1936 for R.H. Stein, father of English celebrity chef Rick Stein. Rick Stein spent the summers of his childhood in the house, which he visited in some of his TV series, such as Rick Stein's Cornwall.

Trevose Head (Cornish: Penn Trenfos, meaning farm of the wall's headland) (grid reference SW853764) is a headland on the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, on the south-western coast of Great Britain. It is situated approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) west of Padstow. The South West Coast Path runs around the whole promontory and is within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Trevose Head Heritage Coast. In clear weather, visitors to Trevose Head can see virtually the whole length of the north Cornwall coast; to the north, the view extends beyond the Cornwall county boundary to Hartland Point (40 miles (64 km)), Devon; to the south, it extends beyond St Ives to the headland at Pendeen Watch (35 miles (56 km)). LB&SCR H2 class 4-4-2 no. 425 (later no. B425, 2425, and 32425) was named Trevose Head after this landmark.

Padstow Lifeboat Station is at Trevose Head west of Padstow, in Cornwall. It is run by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), and the current lifeboat is a Tamar class boat called Spirit of Padstow.

Polventon Bay (Cornish: Poll Fenton, meaning pool of a spring), Mother Ivey's Bay is a bay and bathing beach on the north coast of Cornwall, United Kingdom. The bay is on east side of the headland, Trevose Head and within the parish of St Merryn. The South West Coast Path, which follows the coast of south-west England from Somerset to Dorset follows the cliff above the bay.

Trevose Head Lighthouse is a lighthouse on Trevose Head on the north Cornish coast at grid reference SW850766 lying to the WSW of Padstow and was sited here as there was previously no light from Land's End to Lundy and it would be visible from Cape Cornwall to Hartland Point.The tower is 27 metres (89 ft) tall, and has a range of 20 nautical miles (37 km; 23 mi), but, on a clear night, you can just spot the light from Pendeen Lighthouse, over 35 miles (56 km) away.

Treyarnon (Cornish: Tre Arnen, meaning Garnen's farm) is a hamlet west of St Merryn in Cornwall, England, UK near Padstow. Treyarnon Beach is a small beach nearby with a caravan park, Youth Hostel and café.

Constantine Bay (Cornish: Eglos Costentin, meaning church of St Constantine) is a village and beach on the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated approximately three miles (5 km) west of Padstow and is in the parish of St Merryn. The beach is sandy and is popular with surfers and has lifeguard patrols in the summer. Historically the sand was removed by local farmers by horse and cart to spread on the land to lighten and fertilise the heavy soil.Constantine Bay is named after Saint Constantine, a 6th-century Cornish saint possibly identified with a minor British king Constantine. St Constantine's Well, an historic site, is accessible by public right of way on Trevose Golf Club's golf course. The area was a favourite holiday location of Margaret Thatcher during her premiership and also of former Prime Minister David Cameron.Trevose Head and Constantine Bay SSSI is designated for both its biological and geological interests. The dune system at Constantine Bay is in an unfavourable declining condition because of the invasion by species such as bramble, ivy and sea buckthorn; and by visitor pressure causing erosion.Constantine Bay lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Trevose Golf & Country Club is a 27-hole golf club in Cornwall, England which has hosted many of the leading amateur golf tournaments in Britain, including the Brabazon Trophy and professional events on the European Senior Tour.

Harlyn (Cornish: ar-Lyn, meaning facing a pool) is a small village on the north coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated inland from Harlyn Bay (Cornish: Porth Lys, meaning court cove) three miles from Padstow and about one mile from St. Merryn.Harlyn Bay is a family and surfing beach and is suitable for novice surfers. Near the beach are a caravan park and a pub called The Harlyn Inn. Many of the houses in Harlyn are holiday lets. East of Harlyn Bay is the village and beach of Trevone and west of Harlyn are Cataclews Point (Cornish: Karrek Loos, meaning grey rock), Mother Ivey's Bay and Trevose Head. Further west, the beaches at Constantine Bay, Porthcothan and Treyarnon are linked by the South West Coast Path. Harlyn lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The village is comprised to a large extent of second homes, and is quiet for much of the year. The beach and most of the land on the cliff was brought over a century ago by a wealthy industrialist family, who still own the houses on the cliff top.

Porthcothan (Cornish: Porthkehodhon) is a coastal village between Newquay and Padstow in Cornwall, England, UK. It is within the civil parish of St Eval. Porthcothan lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park. The sandy beach is popular with tourists and surfers and is patrolled by lifeguards during the day in the summer; local surf schools sometimes use the beach for tuition. There is a pay-and-display car park and a small grocery shop near the beach. In January 2014, storm Anne reduced a local arch, Jan Leverton's Rock, to rubble.

St Merryn (Cornish: S. Meryn) is a civil parish and village in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south of the fishing port of Padstow and 11 miles (18 km) northeast of the coastal resort of Newquay. The village has a primary school (St Merryn School, part of Kernow Learning), a veterinary practice, various shops, restaurants, and two public houses. The population at the 2011 census was 1,692.

Penrose Methodist Chapel is a redundant Methodist chapel approximately 1.5 miles (2 km) west of the hamlet of St Ervan in Cornwall, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Historic Chapels Trust.
