The Old Bell Hotel in Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, is one of Derby's oldest and largest coaching inns. It was is built in 1650, in the historic street of Sadler Gate in the city's Cathedral Quarter. The hotel is a Grade II listed building and is included in the Derby City Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architecture or Historic Interest. Although much of the building has been altered and restored, most of the original structure can still be seen from the street, consisting of a timber-framed building of four storeys with four gables, each with one window, at the top. Over the years The Old Bell Hotel has served as a coaching inn, hotel, bar, restaurant, doctors' surgery, courtroom, jail and other functions.

Ram FM was an Independent Local Radio station, which broadcast to central and southern parts of Derbyshire on 102.8 FM. The station merged with two other East Midlands stations, Trent FM and Leicester Sound to form Capital FM East Midlands (part of Global's Capital FM Network) on Monday 3 January 2011.

The Derby War Memorial was designed by Charles Clayton Thompson and stands before the Derby Guildhall. It features a bronze figure of the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus in her arms by the sculptor George Arthur Walker. It was completed in 1924 and unveiled on 11 November 1924. Behind this bronze figure is a large Celtic cross. The memorial was erected to commemorate the fallen of The Great War with the inscription "The Great War/1914-1918". A later inscription, "For Faith/And Home/And Righteousness/World War 1939–1945", was added to recognize those men of Derby who died in the Second World War.A plaque commemorates the victims of later conflicts.

The Derby Assembly Rooms is a events venue in Derby. It was built in 1977 in the brutalist style.The Assembly Rooms building was designed by Hugh Casson and Neville Conder. It replaced an 18th-century building of the same name that burned down.The venue has seen performances by Elton John, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Take That, the Manic Street Preachers, Tony Bennett and Frankie Laine. It is also notable as the original home of Bloodstock Festival which began there as a one day indoor event. The building has been closed since a 2014 fire in the plant room of an adjacent multi-storey car park damaged the Assembly Rooms' ventilation system. Historic England issued a Certificate of Immunity from Listing in April 2023, guaranteeing that the building would not be statutorily listed within the next five years.In October of 2023 a council-led investigation was announced into why the complex had lain unused for 10 years. A council leader commented that £20million levelling up funding awarded from April 2023 was insufficient to cover demolition and replacement with a new theatre.

The population of Derby is 261,136 (2021).The Romans established the town of Derventio, which was later captured by the Anglo-Saxons and then by the Vikings who made Djúra-bý one of the Five Boroughs of the Danelaw. Initially a market town, Derby grew rapidly in the industrial era and was home to Lombe's Mill, an early British factory, Derby contains the southern part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. With the arrival of the railways in the 19th century, Derby became a centre of the British rail industry. Despite having a cathedral since 1927, Derby did not gain city status until 1977. Derby is a centre for advanced transport manufacturing. It is home to engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce and Alstom (formerly Bombardier Transportation) has a production facility at the Derby Litchurch Lane Works; Toyota's UK headquarters is located in the south-west of the city at Burnaston.

The Cathedral Church of All Saints, Derby, better known as Derby Cathedral, is a cathedral church in the city of Derby, England. In 1927, it was promoted from parish church status to that of a cathedral, creating a seat for the Bishop of Derby, which new see was created in that year. The original church of All Saints was founded in the mid-10th century as a royal collegiate church, dedicated to All Saints. The main body of the church as it stands today is a Georgian rebuilding by James Gibbs, completed in 1725. The tower dates from the 16th century, and a retroquire was added in the 20th century.

Derby Guildhall is a municipal building in the Market Place, Derby, England. It is a Grade II listed building.

Ye Olde Dolphin Inne is a Grade II listed pub, on Queen Street, in the city of Derby, England.It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.It was built in the late 16th century, with the licence said to date from 1580, and is the oldest pub in Derby. The timber-framed exterior of the building was remodeled in the early 20th century. The pub appears on the 1620 map of John Speed.The 18th-century extension, on the left-hand side of the building in Full Street, was originally a doctor's house, wherein he dissected the bodies of criminals who had been hanged.

The Derby Catacombs (also referred to as the Guildhall Catacombs) are a series of tunnels running beneath the city of Derby, most notably beneath the Marketplace and Derby Guildhall. Access to the tunnels is available via a back room of the nearby Tiger pub.During the Victorian era, the tunnels were used to ferry prisoners between the police station at "Lock-Up Yard" and the Courts of Assizes, held at the Guildhall.

St. James Priory, also known as Derby Cluniac Priory, was a Benedictine monastery, formerly located in what is now Derby City Centre. It existed until the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

Derby Baptist Chapel on St Mary's Gate was opened in 1841.
