Christ Church, South Yarra is the Anglican parish church of the suburb of South Yarra in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The parish is in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne and dates from 1856. The parish is well known as belonging to the Anglo-Catholic or High Church tradition; it was the location of the ordination of the first woman to be a deaconess in Australia in 1884.

South Yarra is an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 4 km south-east of the Melbourne central business district, located within the Cities of Melbourne and Stonnington local government areas. South Yarra recorded a population of 25,147 at the 2016 Census. The area east of Punt Road is in the City of Stonnington and the area to the west is in the City of Melbourne. The main shopping region of South Yarra runs along Toorak Road and Chapel Street. Trade along these two arteries are focused on trendy and upmarket shopping, restaurants, nightclubs and cafe culture. The area of South Yarra centred along Commercial Road was for several decades one of Melbourne's gay villages. South Yarra is also home to some of Melbourne's most prestigious residential addresses. Residential land price records (per square metre) have been set by properties in Domain Road, Walsh Street and Fairlie Court.

The Melbourne Turkish consulate bombing was an attempt to bomb the Turkish Consulate in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on 23 November 1986. A car bomb exploded in the basement car park, killing Hagop Levonian, one of the bombers, who was a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF).

Fawkner Park is a popular park in Melbourne's South Yarra and part of the City of Melbourne. It provides recreational areas for teams playing Cricket, Softball, Soccer, Australian Rules Football, Tennis and Rugby.

Yarrabee Flats is a building located at 44 Walsh street, South Yarra, Melbourne, Australia consisting of five flats. Built in 1940. it was designed by the Australian architecture firm, Romberg & Shaw, (Mary Turner Shaw and Frederick Romberg) and is known for introducing European Modernist architecture into flat development in Melbourne.

The Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, commonly known as the Baker Institute, is an Australian independent medical research institute headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria. Established in 1926, the institute is one of Australia's oldest medical research organisations with a historical focus on cardiovascular disease. In 2008, it became the country's first medical research institute to target diabetes, heart disease, obesity and their complications at the basic, clinical and population health levels. The institute is located adjacent to The Alfred Hospital within the Alfred Research Alliance Precinct. The institute also has a national Aboriginal Health program, with a research facility in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.

The Alfred Hospital, also known as The Alfred or Alfred Hospital, is a leading tertiary teaching hospital in Melbourne, Victoria. It is the second oldest hospital in Victoria, and the oldest Melbourne hospital still operating on its original site. The Alfred is one of two major adult trauma centres in Victoria, and houses the largest intensive care unit in Australia. In 2021 it was ranked as one of the world's best hospitals. It is located at the corner of Commercial and Punt Roads, Prahran, opposite Fawkner Park. The Alfred Hospital is managed by Alfred Health along with Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital.

The Electoral district of South Yarra was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian colony — later, state — of Victoria.

South Yarra railway station is the junction station for the Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston and Sandringham lines in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of South Yarra, and opened on 22 December 1860 as Gardiners Creek Road. It was renamed South Yarra on 1 January 1867.V/Line's Bairnsdale rail services (Gippsland line) pass non-stop through the station.

Airlie is a house of historical significance in South Yarra, Melbourne, in the Australian state of Victoria. It was built in 1873 by David Ogilvy and was a residence for successive owners some of whom were prominent citizens of Melbourne. During World War II it was used as the headquarters for an intelligence unit who organised secret raids against the enemy. It is now owned by the Victorian Police Department and used as a training centre and as a venue available to the public for weddings and other functions.

The Murphy raids on the offices of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) occurred on 16 March 1973. The purpose of the raids, instigated by Attorney-General Lionel Murphy, was to obtain terrorism-related information that the ASIO was accused of withholding. Murphy was operating without any permission from the Prime Minister at the time, Gough Whitlam or the Cabinet. No warrants were obtained from the judiciary. Although called "raids", the only raid carried out was on the Canberra office as this was by surprise whereas the investigation of the Melbourne office (ASIO's headquarters) was done hours after the Director-General had been informed of Murphy's intentions.

Domain Park Flats (also referred to as Domain Park Apartments and Domain Park Towers) is a 20-storey residential building in Melbourne, Australia, completed in 1962. The block was designed by influential architect Robin Boyd CBE, one of the foremost proponents for the International Modern Movement in Australian architecture and recipient of the RAIA Gold Medal in 1969.
