The Canton of Amiens-7 is a canton situated in the department of the Somme and in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France.

The University of Picardy Jules Verne (French: Université de Picardie Jules Verne; UPJV) is a public university located in the former Picardy region of France (now part of Hauts-de-France). It consists of several campuses located in the towns of Amiens, Beauvais, Cuffies, Saint-Quentin, Creil, and Laon. The university was part of the University of Lille Nord de France group.

Saint-Roch (Somme) is a station in the Northern French city of Amiens. The station was opened in 1847 when the line from Amiens to Abbeville opened. The station was heavily bombarded during the nights of 18 and 20 May 1940, but the building escaped relatively unscathed. The Selle (French pronunciation: [sɛl] ; also spelt Celle in the Oise) is a river of Hauts-de-France, France. It is 39.2 km (24.4 mi) long. Rising at Catheux, just north of Crèvecœur-le-Grand, Oise, it flows past Conty, Saleux, Salouël and Pont-de-Metz before joining the Somme at Amiens. In many places along its course, the river widens to form or fill lakes, much appreciated by anglers and gravel extractors. Several water-powered mills can still be seen including a paper-mill at Prouzel. Brown trout thrive in the clear waters of the river.

Pont-de-Metz (French pronunciation: [pɔ̃ də mɛs]; Picard: Pont-Mès) is a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France.

The Coliséum is a multi-sport arena in Amiens, France. It is the home of the Gothiques d'Amiens of the Ligue Magnus. The center features two ice rinks and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

The Jules Verne's Tomb is a grave memorial in Amiens, France La Madeleine Cemetery. It marks the grave of the 19th century writer Jules Verne. The sculpture was designed by Albert Roze and it depicts a man breaking out of his grave and reaching skyward. Verne died March 24, 1905, and the sculpture was added to the gravesite in 1907.

The Battle of Amiens, also known as the Third Battle of Picardy (French: 3ème Bataille de Picardie), was the opening phase of the Allied offensive which began on 8 August 1918, later known as the Hundred Days Offensive, that ultimately led to the end of the First World War. Allied forces advanced over 11 kilometres (7 mi) on the first day, one of the greatest advances of the war, with Gen Henry Rawlinson's British Fourth Army (with 9 of its 19 divisions supplied by the fast moving Australian Corps of Lt Gen John Monash and Canadian Corps of Lt Gen Arthur Currie) and Gen Marie Eugène Debeney's French First Army playing the decisive role. The battle is also notable for its effects on both sides' morale and the large number of surrendering German forces. This led Erich Ludendorff to later describe the first day of the battle as "the black day of the German Army". Amiens was one of the first major battles involving armoured warfare.

Salouël (French pronunciation: [salwɛl]; Picard: Saloué) is a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France.

The Musée de Picardie is the main museum of Amiens and Picardy, in France. It is located at 48, rue de la République, Amiens. Its collections include artifacts ranging from prehistory to the 19th century, and form one of the largest regional museums in France. As an institution, the museum was founded as the Musée Napoléon in 1802 (the year of the Treaty of Amiens). However, the current building that houses the museum is more recent, being purpose-built as a regional museum between 1855 and 1867. The Second Empire style building was designed by architects Henri Parent and Arthur-Stanislas Diet. It was built thanks to the Société des Antiquaires de Picardie, keen to give the city somewhere to house the collections the society had gathered over decades. A prototype for other French regional museums, it was France's first building constructed exclusively for the purpose of conservation and exhibition of artworks.
