Hulu Langat District is a district located in the southeastern corner of Selangor, between Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan. It is bordered by the state of Pahang to the east and north, Gombak district to the north-west, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling district to the west, Sepang district to the south-west, and state of Negeri Sembilan to the south. Hulu Langat is the fifth largest district in Selangor State with an area of 840 square kilometres and the second most populous district with a population of 1,400,461 at the 2020 Census (provisional result). It is also the second most densely populated district with approximately 1688 people per km2. It has a mix of urban and rural settlements with a majority of the population settling in towns near Kuala Lumpur. These population centers, such as Cheras and Ampang effectively became suburbs of the greater metropolitan area (both Cheras and Ampang are communities now divided administratively between Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory and Selangor State). Hulu Langat has a median income of RM8361 (2019), which is the fourth highest in the state and country behind Petaling, Sepang and Gombak. The figure is higher than both the state, RM8210 (2019) and national median income of RM5873 (2019).

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Ampang (SMKBBA) (English: Bandar Baru Ampang High School; Chinese: 安邦新镇国中) is situated in the town of Bandar Baru Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia. The school motto is the Malay phrase: Berilmu dan Beramal. SMKBBA was established on 1 January 2002 with 383 students and 32 teachers. The principal is Tuan Haji Abdul Gaffar bin Kunchi Mohd.

Ampang Jaya, more commonly known as just Ampang, is a town, a mukim and a parliamentary constituency straddling parts of the Hulu Langat District and Gombak District, in eastern Selangor, Malaysia. It is located just outside the eastern border of Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory. It is administered by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ), which is the formal name of the township as well.

Ampang LRT station is a light rapid transit station operated by rapidKL serving the Ampang Line in Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia, just outside the eastern boundary of Kuala Lumpur. It is the eastern terminus for passenger services on the line. This station was opened in 1996, along with 17 other LRT stations.

Ulu Klang (alternately Hulu Klang, Hulu Kelang or Ulu Kelang, is a mukim and a state constituency in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. It is one of five state constituencies administered by Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ). It includes Zoo Negara. Several landslides have occurred in this area, forcing people mainly living in flats to evacuate; one notable incident is the Highland Towers tragedy in 1993.

Bukit Antarabangsa is a hillside township located in Ulu Klang, Ampang District, Selangor, Malaysia. The area is well known for being an affluent residential suburb occupied by occasional celebrities and political figures alike.

The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL; Malay: Sekolah Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur)The curriculum is international-based, and offers students the chance to earn a High School Diploma, an International Baccalaureate diploma (or certificates), and to attend Advanced Placement programs. It is accredited by the United States-based Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and internationally through the Council of International Schools (CIS).The majority of students are from expatriate families seeking a western school system for their children while living abroad. Pandan Indah (Jawi: ڤندان اينده; Chinese: 班登英达) is a major township in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located between Ampang proper and Cheras. Pandan Indah has the basic facilities of a modern Malaysian township - it has a police station, a fire station, a primary and a secondary school and two neighbourhood shopping malls - Pandan Kapital and Mid-Point Shopping Complex.

Hillview is a township in Ulu Klang, Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. The township lies in a landslide-prone area. It is located next the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2. This township was once home to many Western expatriates circa 1970s. It is located roughly halfway between Ampang and Melawati. Sri Ukay is a residential area located immediately adjacent to Hillview. Due to its proximity to the nearest hills, a collection of houses and apartments were built here. Many major landslides occurred due to the soil erosion that occurs after heavy rain. This taman also recently added a guard house. This security system included motorcycle rounding. This is a gated community.

Bandar Mahkota Cheras is a township in Cheras, Selangor, Malaysia. It was developed by Narajaya Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Lion Group. Construction commenced in late 1999 or early 2000 on a freehold plot of about 365 hectares. Mostly consisting of two-storey terraced houses, the population is estimated to be in excess of 50,000 in more than 10,000 households. There are also a few smaller developments by other developers in the same township, e.g., Cheras Vista and Pinggiran Mahkota Cheras. It is located in the mukim (sub-district) of Cheras, daerah (district) of Hulu Langat and state of Selangor. It is under the administration of local council Majlis Perbandaran Kajang (MPKj).

Taman CUEPACS is a major township in Cheras, Selangor, Malaysia. Taman CUEPACS is located near Pasukan Gerakan Am (PGA) police base. The township gets its name from the abbreviation of CUEPACS which means Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services.
