Pentrebane (Welsh: Pentre-Baen) is a district in the west of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It is part of the Fairwater community.

Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr is a Welsh-medium comprehensive secondary school in Cardiff. It opened in September 1998 as the second school of its kind in Cardiff. Its buildings had formerly belonged to Waterhall Secondary Modern School and more recently formed Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf's Lower School. The current headteacher is John Hayes.

The Cardiff Ely bread riots, or Ely petrol riots, was the outbreak of violence that occurred in the council suburb of Ely in the capital of Wales, Cardiff, during September 1991. The unrest was attributed to a dispute between two shopkeepers over who could sell bread and other food products which escalated into a riot involving up to 500 participants. An estimated 175 police officers were mobilised, including reinforcements called in from the Vale of Glamorgan, to deal with the unrest.

Fairwater (Welsh: Y Tyllgoed) is a district and community in the west of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It is located a few miles from Culverhouse Cross which connects Cardiff to the M4 motorway. The population taken at the 2011 census was 12,981.

Ely is the name of an electoral ward in the west of the city of Cardiff, Wales, which covers its namesake community, Ely. The ward elects three county councillors to the County Council of the City and County of Cardiff. It has previously been represented by the Labour Party, until February 2019 when Plaid Cymru won one of the council seats.

St Fagans Old Rectory is a Grade II* listed building in the village of St Fagans in western Cardiff. It is an important Victorian house designed by John Prichard and John Pollard Seddon, built in 1858–9 and used as a rectory until 1975. It is built from coursed squared lies with Bath stone dressings in two storeys and a French medieval-style attic. The steep roofs are made from Welsh slate. A lean-to veranda across the ground floor is supported by stone columns with capitals. The southern bay of the east elevation has a tall truncated pyramidal roof and on the eastern end is a gabled porch.

The Saint Mary's Church in St Fagans is a medieval church located in south Wales. Built in the 12th century it underwent extensive and sympathetic restoration in 1859, undertaken by G. E. Street in 1859. The Church of St Mary was listed as a Grade II* building on 28 January 1963.

Plasdwr (Welsh pronunciation: [plasˈduːr]) is the name given to a planned new suburb of approximately 7,000 homes in the north of Cardiff, Wales. Construction by lead developer Redrow Homes started in 2017.

St Fagans Castle (Welsh: Castell Sain Ffagan) is an Elizabethan mansion in St Fagans, Cardiff, Wales, dating from the late 16th century. The house and remaining medieval fortifications are Grade I listed. The grounds of St Fagans Castle now contain St Fagans National Museum of History.

St Fagans ( FAG-ənz; Welsh: Sain Ffagan) is a village and community in the west of the city of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It is home to the St Fagans National History Museum.

St David's Church, Fairwater is a Lutheran church in Fairwater, Cardiff, Wales. There has been a Lutheran community in central Cardiff since the 19th Century, but that in Fairwater is far more recent, forming only after new housing development in the post-war years. The church was designed by Vernon Kinch of Alex Gordon and Partners, and was completed in 1961. it belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England, and became a grade II listed building in 2007. Aside from some minor changes in joinery and the replacement of the original windows, the church is largely unaltered.
