Centro Médico station (Puerto Rico)

The Río Piedras State Penitentiary, also known as Puerto Rico Island Penitentiary or Oso Blanco (or White Bear in English), was a correctional facility located in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico.

The Parque Reparto Metropolitano is a 1,000-seat association football stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As of the 2018-19 Liga Puerto Rico season, it hosts the home matches of Metropolitan FA. It is also home to the administrative offices of the club.

San Francisco is a rapid transit station in San Juan agglomeration, Puerto Rico. It is located between Las Lomas and Centro Médico stations on the sole line of the Tren Urbano system, in the Monacillo Urbano and Gobernador Piñero districts of the city of San Juan. The station is named after the San Francisco neighborhood located further south on José de Diego Avenue. The trial service ran in 2004, however, the regular service only started on 6 June 2005.

Cupey is a rapid transit station in San Juan agglomeration, Puerto Rico. It is located between Centro Médico and Río Piedras stations on the only line of the Tren Urbano system, in the El Cinco district of the city of San Juan. The station is named after the barrio of Cupey, located further south. The trial service ran in 2004, however, the regular service only started on 6 June 2005.

El Cinco is one of the 18 barrios of the municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico and a former barrio of the dissolved municipality of Río Piedras. As of the 2010 United States Census, it had a population of 6,198 and a land area of 1.34 square miles (3.5 km2) resulting in a population density of 4,625.4/sq mi (1,785.9/km2).

Monacillo Urbano is one of 18 barrios in the municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The barrio was originally part of Monacillo. In 2010, it had a population of 22,342 living in a land area of 3.23 square miles (8.68 km2). Monacillo Urbano is surrounded by Gobernador Piñero barrio to the north, El Cinco barrio to the east, Monacillo barrio to the south, and the municipality of Guaynabo to the west.

Academia Maria Reina is a Catholic middle (7th to 12th) and high school for girls in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Old Piedras River Aqueduct (Spanish: Antiguo acueducto del Río Piedras), also known as the San Juan Waterworks (Acueductos de San Juan), is an aqueduct in the barrio (district) of El Cinco of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is by the Piedras River, next to the University of Puerto Rico Botanical Garden. This aqueduct dates to the mid 19th century and it was important for the urban development of Río Piedras.

University Gardens High School (Spanish: Escuela Superior University Gardens, generally abbreviated as UGHS), formally University Gardens Community School Specialized in Science and Mathematics, is a secondary magnet school located in Hato Rey Sur, San Juan, Puerto Rico. University Gardens is run by the Puerto Rico Department of Education and is overseen by its Specialized Schools Unit (UnEE, for its initials in Spanish).University Gardens is known for its high standards, its "hard work" culture coming into the national culture. Recognized for featuring some of the highest standardized test scores in Puerto Rico, it has been criticized for having 27.8% of its student population come from living below the poverty line.

Luis Muñoz Marín Park (Spanish: Parque Luis Muñoz Marín) is an urban park located in the Gobernador Piñero district of San Juan, close to Hato Rey, Río Piedras and Plaza Las Américas. The park was opened by the Puerto Rico Company of National Parks (CPNPR) and is currently administered by the municipality of San Juan. The Piedras River (el Río Piedras) crosses the park from southeast to northwest, splitting it in two sections.The park has gazebos that can be rented for events, green areas for strolls, biking and picnics, an artificial lake with paddleboats for rent ($6), and a number of playgrounds for children. The main attraction however is the cableway that crosses the park and offers scenic views of the city while providing transportation to the Roberto Clemente Coliseum and the Hiram Bithorn Stadium; it costs $2 for adults and $1 for children. The park is open weekly from Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays.Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico in 2017, causing widespread damages to the park. It remained closed for years until February 2021 when it opened on limited capacity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

San Juan (, Spanish: [saŋ ˈxwan]; Spanish for "Saint John") is the capital city and most populous municipality in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, an unincorporated territory of the United States. As of the 2020 census, it is the 57th-largest city under the jurisdiction of the United States, with a population of 342,259. San Juan was founded by Spanish colonists in 1521, who called it Ciudad de Puerto Rico ("City of Puerto Rico", Spanish for rich port city). The population of the metropolitan statistical area, including San Juan and the municipalities of Bayamón, Guaynabo, Cataño, Canóvanas, Caguas, Toa Alta, Toa Baja, Carolina and Trujillo Alto, is about 2.443 million inhabitants; thus, about 76% of the population of Puerto Rico now lives and works in this area. San Juan is also a principal city of the San Juan-Caguas-Fajardo Combined Statistical Area. The city has been the host of events within the sports community, including the 1979 Pan American Games; 1966 Central American and Caribbean Games; events of the 2006, 2009 and 2013 World Baseball Classics; the Caribbean Series and the Special Olympics and MLB San Juan Series in 2010.

The Bombardment of San Juan, or the First Battle of San Juan, on 12 May 1898 was an engagement between United States Navy warships and the Spanish fortifications of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was the first major action of the Puerto Rican Campaign during the Spanish–American War.
