The Casa de Parley Johnson is a historic house in Downey, California, U.S.. It was built for Alexander Parley Johnson, an heir to citrus fields, real estate and oil investments, in 1927. It was designed in the Spanish Revival architectural style by Roland Coate. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 20, 1986.

Commerce station is a Metrolink rail station in the city of Commerce, California. It is served by Metrolink's Orange County Line running from Los Angeles Union Station to Oceanside. The Metrolink 91 Line from Los Angeles Union Station to Riverside shares the track with the Orange County Line however, no 91 Line trains actually serve the Commerce station. On weekdays, this station is served by eight Orange County Line trains, four in the peak direction of travel during the two peak periods each weekday. There is no midday, reverse-peak, or weekend service to this station.

Ellen Ochoa Prep Academy is a magnet high school in Pico Rivera, California, United States. It is a part of the El Rancho Unified School District. Ochoa Prep provides a college preparatory curriculum.The school opened in 2016 and stands on the former Selby Grove Elementary lot.

Bell Gardens is a city in the U.S. state of California in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Located in Los Angeles County, the city's population was 42,072 at the 2010 census, down from 44,054 at the 2000 census. Bell Gardens is part of the Gateway Cities Region, a largely urbanized region located in southeastern Los Angeles County. Bell Gardens is notable for being one of only six Los Angeles County cities (out of 88 total) to permit casino gambling and for being home of the oldest building in Los Angeles County.Bell Gardens is named after James George Bell, an American businessman. The “Gardens” in its name derives from the many Japanese who, early in Bell Gardens’ existence, established vegetable gardens and rice fields. The adjacent city of Bell is also named after James George Bell as well.

It is a small campus whose students are drawn from all the other high schools in the Montebello Unified School District, which include Schurr High School, Montebello High School, Bell Gardens High School and Applied Technology Center. The students are typically sent to Vail by their original high schools once it is determined that they are in danger of not graduating due to lack of eligible credits or poor grades.

Johnie's Broiler, originally known as Harvey's Broiler and currently operating as Bob's Big Boy Broiler, is a restaurant located in Downey, California that first opened in 1958. From 2002 to 2006, the building and parking lot housed a used car dealership. The building was largely demolished in January 2007. However, the restaurant was reconstructed in 2009 and re-opened as part of the Bob's Big Boy chain, while retaining the original building's look and design. Due to its 1950s Googie style, the restaurant has been featured in several movies and TV shows.

Commerce Casino is a cardroom located in the Los Angeles suburb of Commerce. With over 240 tables on site, Commerce Casino is the largest cardroom in the world. Established in 1983, the casino accounted for 38% of Commerce's tax revenues for the 2006-2007 fiscal year. As of 2016, the casino was providing $22 million a year in licensing fees to the city.In addition to the main cardroom, the Commerce Casino complex includes a full-service 200-room Crowne Plaza Hotel, which houses dining establishments, a day spa, beauty salon, pool and sundeck, banquet rooms, shops, and entertainment. The Commerce is also home to several restaurants and host to live boxing, MMA and Professional Wrestling events. Commerce Casino opened a Playboy-themed gaming lounge in 2014.

The oldest McDonald's restaurant is a drive-up hamburger stand at 10207 Lakewood Boulevard at Florence Avenue in Downey, California, United States. It was the third McDonald's restaurant and opened on August 18, 1953. It was also the second restaurant franchised by Richard and Maurice McDonald, before the involvement of Ray Kroc in the company. The restaurant is the oldest one in the chain still in existence and is one of Downey's main tourist attractions. Along with its sign, it was deemed eligible for addition to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, although it was not added at the time because the owner objected.

Los Angeles (Maywood) Assembly was a Chrysler assembly plant located in the City of Commerce, near Maywood in southeastern Los Angeles County, California. It was an assembly location where vehicles were shipped by railroad in "knock-down kits" from Detroit, where they were locally assembled, combined with locally sourced parts. Vehicles assembled at Maywood were largely sold in California and the Western United States. It operated from 1932 until 1971, at 5800 Eastern Avenue and Slauson Boulevard. The Ford Maywood Assembly Plant was across the street and began operations in 1948. GM later opened the South Gate Assembly further south in 1936.

Rancho San Antonio is a 29,513-acre (119.43 km2) Spanish land grant in present-day Los Angeles County, California that was granted to Antonio Maria Lugo. The rancho included in some part the present-day cities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Maywood, Vernon, Huntington Park, Walnut Park, Cudahy, South Gate, Lynwood, Montebello and Commerce.
