Fleming Memorial Hospital was a children's health facility in Abbotsford Terrace, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne. It is a Grade II listed building.

Exhibition Park is a public park connected to the south-eastern corner of the Town Moor, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. The park is home to numerous facilities including sports areas, a boating lake, playgrounds and a skatepark.

The North East Coast Exhibition was a world's fair held in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear and ran from May to October 1929. Held five years after the British Empire Exhibition in Wembley Park, London, and at the start of the Great Depression the event was held to encourage local heavy industry.

Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School (also known locally as "Church High") was a private day school for girls in Jesmond, less than a mile north of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Until 2014 it was the oldest continuously operating girls' school established in the city.

Castle Leazes is a piece of common land in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is situated in an area which separates Leazes Park and Spital Tongues. It has been in common ownership for over 700 years.This area of land was earmarked as the site of a new stadium by Newcastle United football club in the mid-1990s, when chairman John Hall announced his intention to build a 55,000 seater stadium was planned at a potential cost of £65 million. The planned move proved controversial with the club's supporters and others, and was shelved in favour of expanding St James' Park to over 50,000 seats over the next few years.

The Royal Grammar School (RGS), Newcastle upon Tyne is a selective British independent day school for pupils aged between 7 and 18 years. Founded in 1525 by Thomas Horsley, the Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne, it received royal foundation by Queen Elizabeth I and is the city's oldest institution of learning. It is one of seven schools in the United Kingdom to bear the name "Royal Grammar School", of which two others are part of the independent sector.The School is located in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne in North East England, and is a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference. In 2008, RGS became fully co-educational after 450 years as an all boys' school. It has a current enrolment of more than 1,300 pupils. Former students are known as Old Novocastrians or Old Novos ("Novocastrian" is macaronic Latin for "citizen of Newcastle"). In 2012 and again in 2015, the Sunday Times Schools Guide named RGS the top performing school in the North of England based on academic results from A-levels and GCSEs.

The Jesmond Synagogue is a former synagogue in the Jesmond neighbourhood of Newcastle upon Tyne, in northeast England. It was originally conceived as a branch of the Leazes Park Synagogue for families who had moved out of the city centre, but eventually founded in 1914 as an independent congregation.The synagogue, on Eskdale Terrace in Jesmond, was built in 1914–15 by Marcus Kenneth Glass in an Art Deco interpretation of Byzantine Revival style.The porch has a triple arcade and columns with lotus bud capitals. A large, sunburst, stained-glass window fills the huge Byzantine arch of the facade. The brickwork is coursed with alternating beige and red stripes.The synagogue was closed in 1986. The exterior has been carefully conserved; the interior was gutted and renovated for use as a school. It formed part of the Newcastle High School for Girls until 2016, when approval was granted for its conversion into flats.A commemorative plaque marking the building's previous use as a synagogue was unveiled in July 2019.

Netskills was a training and staff development organisation providing services to help the UK education sector make effective use of technology. Netskills started in 1995 as a project called 'Network Skills for Users of the Electronic Library' and had the mission 'to help the UK higher education community make effective use of the Internet for teaching, research and administration', which it achieved through workshops on topics including 'An Introduction to the Internet', 'Searching for Information on the World Wide Web' and 'An introduction to World Wide Web Authoring'. In 1998 Netskills became a Jisc advisory service, with the new mission 'To be a centre of expertise and knowledge - supporting and enabling the education community to make effective, sustainable use of innovative technology through training, development and consultancy'. At one stage every university in the UK used the service along with over 400 FE colleges and more than 40 library authorities. During 2009 Netskills became one of a number of Jisc Advisory services to become part of Jisc Advance. As Jisc Netskills, the service provided a range of training programmes and expertise on topics such as e-learning, web development, social networking, Web 2.0 technologies, information skills and access management. Some activities were brought in-house by Jisc from 2 January 2015 as part of Jisc Customer Services, nominally marking the closure of the service. By the end of the project almost 1000 individuals were taking part in Netskills training events every year. During its time as a Jisc-funded project, Netskills was based at Newcastle University.

Newcastle University Library is the library service for students and staff at Newcastle University, UK. It consists of: The Philip Robinson Library, the main library, offers collections in arts, humanities, social sciences, science and engineering, agriculture, education, psychology. The Walton Library, situated in the Medical School, provides resources in medicine, dentistry and biomedical sciences. The Law Library, situated in the Law School, provides extensive law resources. The Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms provide a mix of individual and collaborative study spaces.It is the only library in the United Kingdom to receive the Charter Mark award for excellence five times in a row. It has since been awarded the Customer Service Excellence Award twice. The University Library has won The Times Higher Leadership and Management Award for the Outstanding Library Team.

West Jesmond is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the suburb of Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network on 11 August 1980, following the opening of the first phase of the network, between Haymarket and Tynemouth via Four Lane Ends.

The Natural History Society of Northumbria (NHSN) is a voluntary organization to promote the study of natural history and protect the wildlife of North East England. Its offices and library are in the Great North Museum: Hancock, whose building, land and collections it owns. It leases them to Newcastle University, on whose behalf they are administered by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums. It possesses a substantial natural history library and archive and maintains the Gosforth Nature Reserve, one of the oldest designated nature reserves in North East England. It also carries out research and provides talks, field trips and educational courses, as well as publishing scientific papers.

The Great North Museum: Hancock is a museum of natural history and ancient civilisations in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. The museum was established in 1884 and was formerly known as the Hancock Museum. In 2006 it merged with Newcastle University's Museum of Antiquities and Shefton Museum to form the Great North Museum. The museum reopened as the Great North Museum: Hancock in May 2009 following a major extension and refurbishment of the original Victorian building. The museum and most of its collections are owned by the Natural History Society of Northumbria, and it is managed by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums on behalf of Newcastle University.
