Bellshill Athletic Football Club is a Scottish football club based in the town of Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. It plays in the West of Scotland League Conference A.

Bellshill railway station served the town of Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, from 1879 to 1951 on the Glasgow, Bothwell, Hamilton and Coatbridge Railway.

The Sir Matt Busby Sports Complex is a public leisure centre located in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is named in honour of Sir Matt Busby, the football manager who was born in Bellshill in 1909, managed Manchester United from 1945 to 1969 and died in 1994. It opened in 1995, the year after Busby's death.An image of Sir Matt's face adorns the centre's reception area.

Bellshill railway station is a railway station in the town of Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and served by Argyle Line and Shotts Line services. The station is adjacent to Bellshill Main Street, on Hamilton Road, and was opened by the Caledonian Railway as part of the Cleland and Midcalder Line on 1 May 1879. West of the station, the Glasgow, Bothwell, Hamilton and Coatbridge Railway crossed with a second station in the town to the north west - this ceased to carry passengers back in 1951. The line through the station was electrified as part of the 1974 West Coast Main Line project. Although it is situated east of the Shotts Line's junction with the WCML south of Uddingston, electric trains can reach Motherwell using a chord line to the route from Coatbridge Central and Mossend which passes beneath the Shotts route east of the station (these lines being wired to allow electric access to the yard at Mossend and to allow goods trains to avoid the busy Motherwell area).

Bellshill (pronounced "Bells hill") is a town in North Lanarkshire in Scotland, ten miles (sixteen kilometres) southeast of Glasgow city centre and 37 mi (60 km) west of Edinburgh. Other nearby localities are Motherwell 2 mi (3 km) to the south, Hamilton 3 mi (5 km) to the southwest, Viewpark 1+1⁄2 mi (2.5 km) to the west, Holytown 2 mi (3 km) to the east and Coatbridge 3 mi (5 km) to the north. The town of Bellshill itself (including the villages of Orbiston and Mossend) has a population of about 20,650. From 1996 to 2016, it was considered to be part of the Greater Glasgow metropolitan area; since then it is counted as part of a continuous suburban settlement anchored by Motherwell with a total population of around 125,000.

Bellshill Central Parish Church is a Parish church of the Church of Scotland, serving the around 70% of the town of Bellshill, North Lanarkshire - including Bellshill town centre, Mossend, Milnwood and Orbiston. It is within the Church of Scotland's Presbytery of Hamilton.

Cardinal Newman High School is a Roman Catholic, co-educational, comprehensive secondary school located in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The school was formed by the amalgamation of Elmwood Secondary, St. Saviour's High School and St. Catherine's. The school's catchment area includes Bellshill, Mossend, Viewpark, Birkenshaw and Tannochside. The feeder primary schools are St Gerard's, Sacred Heart, Holy Family and John Paul II (St John the Baptist Primary in Uddingston [was re-aligned to Holy Cross High School, Hamilton).

Mossend is a small town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, located on the A775 road to the immediate east of its 'sister town' Bellshill, west of the villages of Holytown and New Stevenston, north of the larger town of Motherwell and south of the Eurocentral industrial park and the M8 motorway. Along with Holytown, it forms a council ward which had a population of 13,480 in 2019, Mossend's estimated population being around half of that total.The town is the site of two railway freight terminals: Mossend International Railfreight Park and Mossend EuroTerminal. The yard is primarily used by DB Cargo UK. Mossend formed around the steel industry, with Clydesdale Steel Works once dominating the east end of the town. It is also home to the Mossend Football Club, a local community football club for children from the age of 6 to 21 years old.

Meadow Park was a football ground in the Whifflet area of Coatbridge, Scotland. It was the home ground of Albion Rovers from 1882 until 1919.

Whifflet railway station is located in the Whifflet area of Coatbridge. Train services are provided by ScotRail. Until December 2014, it was the terminal station on the Whifflet Line, since when it is served by Argyle Line services. To the east of the station is the link line from the North Clyde Line at Sunnyside Junction. There are no platforms on this line, but it is used by empty EMUs laying over between trips from Glasgow.

Whifflet (Scots: The Whufflit, Scottish Gaelic: Magh na Cruithneachd) is now a suburb of Coatbridge, Scotland, which once formed its own distinctive village. It is referred to locally as 'The Whifflet' (and pronounced whiff-lit). Presently located in the North Lanarkshire Council area it was originally known as wheat flats (hence the vernacular pronunciation) but over time the name appears to have developed into Whifflet. It is dominated by its main street, Whifflet Street, which has many shops including an old sweet shop Tommy Tangos, pubs and bookmakers and is towered over by the post-war built Calder flats. The two most prominent tower blocks are on Whifflet St. Whifflet is an area of Coatbridge which, historically, has been the centre of a lot of mining activity. One of the Whifflet pits in the 19th century reached a depth of 330 feet underground.Albion Rovers football club was originally based in the Whifflet area at Meadow Park. Notable residents have included Jock Cunningham a Coatbridge miner, mutineer and brigade commander on the republican side during the Spanish Civil War who lived at number 77b Whifflet Street. In 1968, Robert Plant and John Bonham, before forming Led Zeppelin, did a Scottish tour with group Band of Joy in which they played the Marion Hall in Whifflet. Thomas McAleese, alias Dean Ford was born and lived there and went on to achieve worldwide success with The Marmalade. Whifflet has a 400-metre long former rail tunnel, now sealed, running south from the Calder Street traffic lights. Whifflet railway station provides travel links to Glasgow, Motherwell, Coatbridge, and Cumbernauld. Whifflet is said to have a particularly large Irish influence dating back to the early 20th century.
