German Clock Museum

Furtwangen University (HFU) is a German University of applied science with its main location in Furtwangen im Schwarzwald, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and two more branch locations in Villingen-Schwenningen and Tuttlingen. The HFU is part of the "International Lake Constance University Network" (IBH) as well as part of Franco-German University (FGU). Its courses include health sciences, computer science, engineering, international economics, digital media, business informatics and industrial engineering.

Furtwangen im Schwarzwald (German pronunciation: [ˈfʊʁtˌvaŋən] ; Low Alemannic: Furtwange im Schwarzwald) is a small city located in the Black Forest region of southwestern Germany. Together with Villingen-Schwenningen, Furtwangen is part of the district (German: Kreis) of Schwarzwald-Baar.

Hintere Breg is a river of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It flows into the Breg in Furtwangen im Schwarzwald.

The Brend is a mountain, 1,149.3 m above sea level (NHN), in the Central Black Forest in Germany. It is the highest point in the borough of Furtwangen of which it is the Hausberg.

The Dorf- und Uhrenmuseum Gütenbach (English: Village and Clock Museum Gütenbach) is located in the village of Gütenbach, one of the historic centers of homebased manufacturing of clocks in the Black Forest region of Germany near the town of Furtwangen im Schwarzwald. It features primarily permanent and temporary exhibits on the local history of clockmaking, focussing on the history of making wooden clock movements. There also is a smaller general display on local history and rural living conditions in the 18th and 19th century. Highlights include: An overview of the history of the wooden black forest clock movement A unique collection of homemade tools, jigs and fixtures for making clock movements A broad collection of one of kind black forest clocks, including organ clocks and cuckoo clocks, many made within the village of GütenbachThe Museum is located in the former schoolhouse of the village, next to the church, on a hill above the village center.

Gütenbach is a municipality in the district of Schwarzwald-Baar in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is the home of the Faller toy company.

The Danube is conventionally taken to be formed by the confluence of the two streams Brigach and Breg just east of Donaueschingen. The source of the Donaubach, which flows into the Danube, in Donaueschingen is often referred to as the source of the Danube (Donauquelle). Hydrologically, the source of the Danube is the source of the Breg as the larger of the two formative streams (with its spring at a higher altitude and - at the confluence - not only being 5 km longer but also having a higher amount of water discharge) which rises near Furtwangen. There was an active rivalry between the municipalities of Furtwangen and Donaueschingen for the claim of being home to the "official" source of the Danube since the 1950s, sometimes with the involvement of the government of the state of Baden-Württemberg. Thus, in 1981 the state government granted Donaueschingen the request that the source in Furtwangen should no longer be labelled Donauquelle in official maps.

St. Martin’s Chapel (German: Martinskapelle) stands at an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level (NHN) at the upper end of the Katzensteig valley on the territory of Furtwangen just above the source of the Danube. It is also not far from the source of the River Elz and thus the main European watershed between the Rhine and the Danube. The West Way, a major hiking trail in the Black Forest runs past the chapel as does the long-distance ski trail from Schonach to Belchen.

The Hexenloch Mill (German: Hexenlochmühle, lit. "Witch's Hole Mill"), formerly the Dreistegen Mill (Dreistegenmühle), lies in the ravine-like Hexenloch (also sometimes called the Hexenloch valley, but not often by the locals) in the Black Forest in Germany between St. Märgen and Furtwangen in the parish of Furtwangen-Neukirch. It was built in 1825 and has been in the same family since 1839.It is the only mill in the Black Forest with two water wheels. In 1825, the part with the smaller water wheel was built as a nail smithy. Later, the part with the larger water wheel was built as a sawmill. Eventually the nail smithy was turned into a workshop for the clockmaking works. The mill and restaurant are open daily all year round, except for 2 weeks in March.

The Blindensee is a raised bog lake on the territory of Schönwald im Schwarzwald in the Black Forest in Germany. It lies within the county of Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is only accessible on a board walk and lies with raised bog area that has been designated as a nature reserved near the watershed between the rivers Gutach and Elz. As is typical of raised bog lakes, it has neither a headstream nor a tailstream.

Vöhrenbach is a town in the district of Schwarzwald-Baar, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated on the river Breg, 12 km west of Villingen-Schwenningen.

Eisenbach is a town in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg in Germany.
