Providence is an unincorporated community in Boone County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. Providence was the main port on the Missouri River for supplies to headed to Columbia, Missouri. Providence Road in Columbia is named after the community.

McBaine is a village in Boone County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Columbia, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 10 at the 2010 census. McBaine is located just north of Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area and within sight of The Big Tree.

Perche Creek, or Roche Perche Creek is a stream in Boone and Randolph counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. Besides the Missouri River it is the largest stream in Boone County, Missouri and forms much of the western border of the city of Columbia, Missouri. The northern source is in southeast Randolph County approximately six miles south of Moberly.Perche Creek was named for a natural bridge on a cliff of the Missouri River near the former location of the mouth of the Perche. The Missouri French called it Roche Perche ("pierced rock") and the Kentuckians and Virginians who settled Boone County adopted the name from them. Currently the Roche Perche flows into the Missouri River about a mile north of Providence.

Rock Bridge Township is one of ten townships in Boone County, Missouri, USA. As of the 2012 census, its population was 2,729. The township's major city is the village of McBaine.

Petite Saline Creek is a stream in Cooper, Moniteau and Morgan counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Missouri River. The stream source area is along the Morgan-Moniteau county line just north of U.S. Route 50 two miles east of Syracuse and three miles west of Tipton at 38°40′12″N 92°50′18″W and at an elevation of about 920 feet. The stream flows north into Cooper County crossing under and flowing parallel to the west side of Missouri Route 5. The stream turns east again crossing under Route 5 just south of Billingsville. The stream flows generally east passing under Missouri Route 87 southeast of Boonville. The stream continues east to southeast passing under Missouri Route 179 south of Wooldridge. The stream enters the Missouri River bottom just south of Wooldridge in eastern Cooper County and the confluence with the Missouri is in the northern corner of Moniteau County across the river from McBaine at 38°52′35″N 92°28′55″W and an elevation of 564 feet.At what was then called Wilkin's bridge, there was a skirmish during the American Civil War. The skirmish occurred on October 13, 1864, between the troops of the 5th Regiment, Missouri State Militia Cavalry, and the troops of General Fagan, who were guarding the bridge, during Price's Raid.Petite Saline Creek was so named for the salty character of the little creek.Lewis & Clark passed by on June 6, 1804, and made mention of this creek in their journals. ‘Passed the mouth of a creek called ‘saline’ or ‘salt’ creek. This river is about 30 yards wide and has so many licks and salt springs on its banks that water of the creek is brackish. One very large lick is 9 ms up on the left side. The water of this spring is strong. So much so, that it is said one bushel will make 7 pounds of good salt.”

The Big Tree is a nearly 400-year-old bur oak (Quercus macrocarpa) tree near the Missouri River in Boone County, Missouri. It is tied for National Champion, representing the largest tree of its species in the United States. Standing alone in the floodplain of the Missouri River, and near the city of Columbia, Missouri, it is a well-known landmark and has inspired artists, folklorists, photographers, and nature lovers for hundreds of years. The tree stands 27 m (89 ft) high, has a crown 40 m (130 ft) wide, and a trunk 7.5 ft (2.3 m) in diameter.The land on which the tree grows is private, and has been farmed by the Williamson family for six generations, although it is publicly accessible by Bur Oak Road. The Katy Trail State Park, a popular rail trail, is just yards from the tree, making it a common side-trip for cyclists. The small village of McBaine is within sight of the tree, and the village of Huntsdale is nearby. It is part of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. The Big Tree was cloned by scientists at the University of Missouri and many offspring from both clones and acorns are growing in front yards, city parks, and schoolyards around Missouri and beyond.

Easley is an unincorporated community in Boone County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The last building remaining in Easley, a general store, was moved to the Boone County Historical Society and reconstructed. Easley is on both the Missouri River and Katy Trail.

Hinkson Creek is a stream in Boone County in the U.S. state of Missouri. Its middle section runs through the city of Columbia, Missouri It was named after Robert Hinkson, a pioneer citizen who lived along its banks. Several trails, conservation areas, and parks are along its path. it eventually empties into Perche Creek southwest of Columbia. The MKT Trail follows the creek in Boone County. The stream headwaters arise at 39°07′50″N 92°10′51″W approximately two miles northeast of Hallsville at an approximate elevation of 880 feet. The stream flows south-southwest past Hallsville and through the east side of Columbia where it passes under US Route 63 and I-70. South of Columbia the stream turns to the west-southwest and reaches its confluence with Perche Creek at 38°55′19″N 92°24′51″W at an elevation of 558 feet.The Hinkson Woods Conservation Area is located within meanders of the creek. On June 25, 2021 the Hinkson flooded, reaching a record 23.04 feet in Columbia.

Huntsdale is a village in Boone County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Columbia, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 31 at the 2010 census. The village was founded on August 1, 1892 and named after William Burch Hunt, a landowner. Huntsdale was first incorporated in 1906, but that status eventually fell into neglect and the last village council election took place in 1929. Due mainly to an influx of residential development in the area, Huntsdale was reincorporated in February 2003 and its first elections were held two months later. A center of activity in Huntsdale was Katfish Katy's, a small trail-side, seasonal restaurant along the Katy Trail State Park, until its closure in 2020.

The MKT Nature and Fitness Trail is a recreational rail trail in Columbia, Missouri, that runs nine miles (14 km) in the right-of-way of the former Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad. Developed from 1982 onward, it is a spur of the longest rail trail in the United States, the Katy Trail. It is open for use by hikers, joggers, and cyclists year-round, from sunrise to sunset, with snow covering in the winter offering users cross-country skiing opportunities. The trail is made up of "limestone pug" (crushed limestone), creating a hard, flat surface. The trail follows Flat Branch Creek and Hinkson Creek for much of their distance and is part of a larger system of recreational pathways in the Columbia Metropolitan Area.

The William B. Hunt House is a historic home just outside Columbia, Missouri, USA, near the town of Huntsdale and the Missouri River. The house was constructed in 1862, and is a two-story, five-bay, frame I-house. It incorporates a two-room log house which dates to about 1832. It features a central two-story portico.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
