MKT Trail

Hinkson Creek is a stream in Boone County in the U.S. state of Missouri. Its middle section runs through the city of Columbia, Missouri It was named after Robert Hinkson, a pioneer citizen who lived along its banks. Several trails, conservation areas, and parks are along its path. it eventually empties into Perche Creek southwest of Columbia. The MKT Trail follows the creek in Boone County. The stream headwaters arise at 39°07′50″N 92°10′51″W approximately two miles northeast of Hallsville at an approximate elevation of 880 feet. The stream flows south-southwest past Hallsville and through the east side of Columbia where it passes under US Route 63 and I-70. South of Columbia the stream turns to the west-southwest and reaches its confluence with Perche Creek at 38°55′19″N 92°24′51″W at an elevation of 558 feet.The Hinkson Woods Conservation Area is located within meanders of the creek. On June 25, 2021 the Hinkson flooded, reaching a record 23.04 feet in Columbia.

Flat Branch is a stream in Columbia, Missouri. It was the original water source for the town of Columbia and its forerunner Smithton. It is a branch of Hinkson Creek and begins Northwest of Downtown Columbia. Flat Branch Park straddles the creek between 4th Street and Providence. Flat Branch was so named on account of its low riverbanks.

It operates in fifteen U.S. states and the headquarters is in Columbia, Missouri. Shelter was founded in 1946 as the insurance subsidiary of the Missouri Farmers Association (the same company as MFA Incorporated), and was called MFA Mutual Insurance Company. The Shelter name came from the company's slogan, "M.F.A. is your Shield of Shelter". In 1981, the name was changed to Shelter Insurance Companies. The company's headquarters remained in Columbia. The Shelter Insurance Gardens are located at the company headquarters in Columbia.

Missouri Township is one of ten townships in Boone County, Missouri, USA. As of the 2012, its population was 63,334. The township is western half of the City of Columbia making it the most populous township in Boone County.

The Columbia Agriculture Park is a public park in Columbia, Missouri, focusing on food production and distribution. It is home to the Columbia Farmers Market, and contains a pavilion with space for 98 vendors. The park opened in 2019 and by 2021 will include an interactive urban farm, demonstration gardens and orchards, a commercial kitchen, event space, a recreational trail, amphitheater, outdoor classroom, and playground. It will also house the offices of the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture and a resource center. The park was created by a public-private partnership between Columbia Parks and Recreation, the Columbia Farmers Market, the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture, and Sustainable Farms and Communities. It is the first of its kind in Missouri.

The Columbia Mall is a shopping mall located in Columbia, Missouri. It was built in 1985 and is the largest mall in its area. The mall's anchor stores are Target, JCPenney, Level Up Entertainment, two Dillard's stores, and Barnes & Noble.

Columbia 93 School District, also known as the Columbia Public School District, is located in Columbia, Boone County, Missouri. The district is Accredited with Distinction by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. 19,052 students are enrolled as of 2020. The district has four high schools, seven middle schools, and twenty-one elementary schools. The district also has a career center, preschool, gifted education school, and special education school. The current Superintendent, Brian Yearwood, started with the district on July 1, 2021. Prior to 2013, there were three middle schools for grades 6-7 and three junior high schools for grades 8–9. With the opening of Battle High School, 9th grade was able to move to high school and all six schools became middle schools for grades 6–8. The seventh middle school, John Warner Middle School, opened its doors in the 2020 school year. The district includes almost all of the Columbia city limits, and it includes all of Huntsdale, McBaine, and Pierpont, along with unincorporated areas.

The University of Missouri Research Reactor Center (MURR) is home to a tank-type nuclear research reactor that serves the University of Missouri in Columbia, United States. As of March 2012, the MURR is the highest-power university research reactor in the U.S. at 10 megawatt thermal output. The fuel is highly enriched uranium.

The John N. and Elizabeth Taylor House (more commonly just Taylor House) is a historic home in Columbia, Missouri which has been restored and once operated as a bed and breakfast. The house was constructed in 1909 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, Colonial Revival style frame dwelling. It features a wide front porch and side porte cochere. The home was featured on HGTV special called "If walls could talk."It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. In 2010 the house became a contributing property of the newly formed West Broadway Historic District.

Audrey J. Walton Stadium on the campus of the University of Missouri is the home of the Missouri Tigers track and field teams and the Missouri Relays track and field meet. Audrey J. Walton, the namesake of the Stadium, was married to Sam Walton's brother, Bud Walton. Sam Walton is the founder of Wal-Mart and an alumnus of the university. The stadium has a seating capacity of 2,500 and is also the home of the women's soccer team at the University of Missouri.
