Stoney Littleton Long Barrow

Wellow railway station was a station on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway at Wellow in the county of Somerset in England. Opened on 20 July 1874, the station consisted of two platforms, a goods yard and sidings, controlled from an 18 lever signal box. The station closed to goods in 1963: passenger services were withdrawn when the SDJR closed on 7 March 1966.

Shoscombe & Single Hill Halt was a small railway station on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway serving small villages between Wellow and Radstock, about seven miles south of Bath. The station was the last to open on the Somerset and Dorset main line, with services beginning on 23 September 1929. It closed with the rest of the line on 7 March 1966 under the Beeching Axe.The station, sited in the hamlet of Single Hill, consisted of two bare concrete platforms, with ornate oil lamps but without buildings. A small building containing a booking office and a waiting room was provided on the footpath leading to the station.

The first, western, part dates from 1728 to 1730 and is believed to have been built by John Strahan of Bristol. Shoscombe is a small village and civil parish in the valley of the Wellow Brook in north-east Somerset, about 7 miles (11 km) south of Bath, England. The parish has a population of 443.From 23 September 1929 until the line closed on 7 March 1966, Shoscombe had a railway station, Shoscombe and Single Hill Halt, on the main line of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway. Shoscombe School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School, in a grade II listed building.

The Radstock rail accident took place on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway in south west England, on 7 August 1876. Two trains collided on a single track section, resulting in fifteen passengers being killed. It was difficult to assign blame to any individual for the crash. The underlying cause was that the Somerset and Dorset Railway was essentially bankrupt at the time of the crash. The infrastructure was inadequate to the demands of the traffic and the staff were inadequately trained for their duties.

The Anglican Church of St James The Less in Foxcote, within the English county of Somerset, was rebuilt in the early 18th century incorporating a 15th-century bell turret. It is a Grade II* listed building.The church was dedicated to James the Less. Inside the church is a Jacobean altar table.Services take place at St. James' Church Foxcote from Easter Sunday to end of October each year. The services then move to the chapel in Shoscombe from November to Palm Sunday. The parish is part of the benefice of Peasedown St John with Wellow and Foxcote with Shoscombe within the Diocese of Bath and Wells.

Hinton Hill, Wellow (grid reference ST757582) is a 0.25 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) near the village of Wellow in Somerset, notified in 1996. The site is of importance to studies of the stratigraphy of the Middle Jurassic of the Bath district, and the British Bathonian as a whole.Hinton Hill, Wellow is governed by a local planning authority named Bath and North East Somerset and is named as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
